Haha that's hilarious that you don't need to rescue the princess to proceed. Imagine going back to the yavin base and telling them that while Leia was there you decided it was too risky to save her so you just left.
I did beat this game as a kid many times. For anyone attempting to complete this insanity of a game I have a small tip regarding those Millenium Falcon shields. They respawn each time you exit a cave. So find a cave you are most comfortable with and grind it until you have enough. Much easier than going through each and every cave and hangar room to find them all.
It's funny that 10 years ago Pat had a normal haircut and now in 2016 he got the kind of hair you would only see in 80's movies , the guy is so retro that his hair are going backwards in time !!! Awesome episode can't wait to see the next one.
Never got to play the first Star Wars game on NES, just watched videos of it, so I never had to suffer. I do, however, remember playing Empire Strikes Back, would be kinda sweet to see a video of it at some point.
There are so many great little bits here, Pat! Especially the Wilhelm Scream for the edit of the jump scene and the Spaceballs parody with the action figures (and you set the shots so well). Hope you, Ian, and Pat have a great 2016, and look forward to watching more of your stuff.
+Castleman Reviews and Kylo Ren actually powers up into SSJ3 and murders George Lucas look-alike slightbreezetrooper and feasts on his blood, summoning Cthulhu which he promptly catches on a pokeball and then he challenges Rey into a POKEMON BATTLE!!! but luckily Rey had captured a wild lvl 12 Wookie so she quickly defeats Cthulhu and is on her way to become the pokieman champagne!! it ends with her learning the spirit bomb from Jabba The Hut's brother Kappa The pizzahut because she needs to have power level over 9000 to stand a chance against Darth Binks's forklifting ability in shenmue... the best ability in shenmue. end credits just say: Will Rey defeat mbad-evil?! I know that you were busy with your new book and everything, but find the time to produce more of you original classic content that made this channel so great in past, and thank you for this hilariously funny episode, keep up the good work and God bless.
Actually R2D2 had the rocket boosters in return of the Jedi. I know it's hard to wrap your head around...but that was one of my complaints about R2 and 3PO, was that there was no way to navigate the Endor forest. We often joked that R2 must have rocket boosters...and then...he did. Tada!!
NES games really tricked me into believing that harmful goo dripping from the ceiling was going to be a much more prevalent hazard in my life. Awesome video as always, Pat, and I can't wait to see what you've got planned for 2016. And congrats on the book :)
Selecting R2-D2 in the maze displays a map, and a running jump to the right from the starting floor gets you to the other section without falling damage. I know it's not enjoyable for everyone, but I really enjoy it's tough-as-nails challenge and accuracy to the source material.
Everybody and their mother is putting up Star Wars related videos these days, but I really enjoyed this one. I look forward to the next time you're inspired to do another game review.
This game is evil. I only once ever reached the trench run, and I couldn't do it. Luckily, I got it cheap from Cowtown in the mid-1990s but man, this game is just brutal.
Dude, if you're going to do Hair Spoilers in your videos...you need to have a WARNING ON THEM! ;)
+MetalJesusRocks Your videos are awesome, you ever coming down to san diego?
Hey now Jason, at least he didn't post hair spoilers on Facebook or Twitter!
+MetalJesusRocks Dude! I am a big fan of you and Pat! If I had known you'd be at Pax Prime last year, I would have kept an eye out for you!
Haha Good to see you here Metal Jesus
love the Spaceballs toy reenactment scene XD
Best part of the video by far.
+Derek Kunze SPOILERS! ;)
sdzero oops :P
pikachu sucks as pokemon
Awesome video! The Spaceballs reference is hilarious.
The Contra shirt rocks.
Denise is awesome.

There's no Bea Arthur? You mean I took off my pants for no reason?
Frank's laugh at the very end was easily the best part of the video. I could watch that all day! :-D
It's funny that 10 years ago Pat had a normal haircut and now in 2016 he got the kind of hair you would only see in 80's movies , the guy is so retro that his hair are going backwards in time !!!
Awesome episode can't wait to see the next one.
It just wouldn't be a Pat holiday special if it wasn't 5 days late! :)
Awesome stuff as always. Keep up the good work!
+Dorelaxen the holidays are more than just a single day
+Adam Porter ...Yes, thank you for that observation.
The best thing about this video is the folded up dollar bill tucked under Vader's arm. :)
I don't remember all those spikes on the death star in the movie. Must be something added in the special edition.
+Ryan Amberger Added for the Blu-Ray?
Pleas don't give George any ideas!
the Space Balls reference is the best at the end! xD love your work Pat!
Lol! Great video Pat! Much love from Canada. The part with Frank at the end was great!
I'm glad Pat's back to reviewing
Kinda pissed off there was no Bea Arthur. The intro lied.
+The Game Chasers same I unsubbed
I am suing for false advertising! #Unsubbed
+The Game Chasers That uncompromisin', enterprisin', anything but tranquilizin',
Right on Maude!
+The Game Chasers No Frank either!
She was in the intro
Loved the Spaceballs skit. Good job man!
Makes you realize how much better Star Wars games have got over the years, eh?
*holds a cheap plastic lightsaber*
"Oh, come on, I can't afford anything more expensive than this."
Said the guy with two NWC'90 carts.
welcome back Pat. we've missed your review series. hopefully you'll make some more in the new year
This one is a cut above your average NES Punk episode. Loved it. The ending was incredible, too--breaking the fourth wall!
Older gem I just stumbled onto. Good stuff. Thanks.
Missed the "NES Punk" episodes...great work as always Pat...thanks for being awesome!
Never got to play the first Star Wars game on NES, just watched videos of it, so I never had to suffer. I do, however, remember playing Empire Strikes Back, would be kinda sweet to see a video of it at some point.
Hey Pat, great special! Thanks for the tribute to Space Balls at the end :) Hope you had a Happy Holiday!
Nice Spaceballs skit at the end. Rick Moranis would be proud.
Personally I think Pat looks more like the big-head Han figure variant as opposed to the small one he used.
There are so many great little bits here, Pat! Especially the Wilhelm Scream for the edit of the jump scene and the Spaceballs parody with the action figures (and you set the shots so well). Hope you, Ian, and Pat have a great 2016, and look forward to watching more of your stuff.
wow ! Another NES punk episode.
What a special treat !
Thank you !
Perfect video for the times, Pat. And to add my voice to the echo chamber, I loved the Spaceballs reference at the end.
That was really good. Thanks Pat and Frank, Happy New Year!
The Spaceballs scene had me in stitches. Happy New Year Pat!
Love the Space Balls spoof at the end. That makes it a spoof of a spoof.
love the space balls reference!
Pat the NES Punk came on one last time before the year was over. my year was complete.
10/10, the priceless spaceballs reference
Happy New Year Pat. Thanks so much for all the great content this year.
OH man I was laughing my head off at the end! Great job Pat!
You can kill those purple guys in Cantina with Luke's blaster; it just takes forever and a day to do
Pat that was awesome. Loved the ending nod to Spaceballs. Keep up the good work in all you do!
love the nod to the star wars holiday special when it introduces all the characters.
didn't expect a Christmas special this year, glad there is one
XD Nice bonus reference to Space Balls with the "sudden doll intrusion". Ah, Frank...ever reliable for a good old fashioned universal laugh.
Spoiler! Luke transforms into Jar Jar Binks who kills Spock when ultron attacks with his army of dinosaurs.

That would have been a much better film than the one we got.
+Castleman Reviews Spoilers: Han Solo admitted that he did shoot first.
+Knekten Wait.... There was more than one Darth Vader?
Takara Tony
yeah, there's 5 now.
there's Darth Vader, Pink Vader, Green Vader, Blue Vader and Yellow Vader.
I know that you were busy with your new book and everything, but find the time to produce more of you original classic content that made this channel so great in past, and thank you for this hilariously funny episode, keep up the good work and God bless.
😂😂😂😂 The Spaceballs reenactment!😂😂😂😋
That "Han shot first" bit was such a direct representation of my feelings.
Haha, great video guys! Thanks for the Xmas laughs!
Dang, how did I miss this one? The Spaceballs reference was great.
Excellent work Pat and friends!
long time fan great video

The fucking Spaceballs reference at the end had me dying XD
Oh wow I can't believe this is the first time I'm watching this episode lol
I haven't laughed this hard at one of your videos in a while. Great job!
You should take your ventriloquist skills on the road. It's like the Rancor was actually laughing.
Great video Pat!!! Love the ending made me laugh a lot....
Great video Pat thanks

+Your NES PAL Great video, I almost forgot to say! We need more of your insane humour :)
A second Star Wars Holiday Special Vision from great TH-camrs I see today... And it is great!
Pat you make the best videos. thanks for the laughs!
This is a great video, wish I would have seen it sooner. I played the similar gameboy version as a kid, it was profoundly confusing for me
Oh wow. The NES game has Luke slaughter the Jawas, who were originally slaughtered by the *villains* in the movie.
They don't come around too often these, but they always make me laugh. :)
This a great video man. Keep up the fine work. :)
You do get a map in that room. You have to select R2-D2 to see it
Great Episode. Great homage to Spaceballs at the end. Happy New Year Pat. 🎉🎉🎉
Well done! Love the Spaceballs reference!
I gave Thumbs Up afer 1 minute of watching and it only got better and better :)
-"Armpit Magic!........Jump!"

Awesome as usual! Happy new year Pat!
The ending was great. Best part! omg
simply brilliant at the end.
"This is supposed to be powerful, not a NERF bat." Yuuuup.
Loved the Spaceballs skit at the end lol.
Great job playing Poe Dameron in the movie!
That Spaceballs reference at the end though
This is 10x better then the actual holiday special :-)
Glad you still keep it fun and don't take yourself too seriously.
Late again with the Holiday special, but I would not have it any other way :-) Awesome video!!
Great vid as always Pat! I might actually pick up this title or the Famicom version someday. Happy New Year!
loved this video!!! love your channel !!!!pat your awsome !!!
frankkkkk is the man the myth the legend !!!!
My PTSD was triggered from the phrase 'Star Wars Holiday Special'.
Everybody and their mother is putting up Star Wars related videos these days, but I really enjoyed this one. I look forward to the next time you're inspired to do another game review.
Say hi to Frank for me and tell him I hope he had a good Christmas.

holy shit, a Pat video that isn't a Podcast video?!
Pat you have completely lost it! LOL
There's only 75 people that would DARE give Pat the raspberry.....
Great stuff.. Thanks for making this!
This game is evil. I only once ever reached the trench run, and I couldn't do it. Luckily, I got it cheap from Cowtown in the mid-1990s but man, this game is just brutal.
Man, Frank has the best laugh ever!
