Don't forget XPS foam as well, one of the best ways. For me FDM is great for bigger things like mountains and buildings like you said. And I would use resin for mainly minis and some terrain, using resin for terrain can be costly as mentioned in the video but the details are hard to pass up. And for laser cutting, I am more partial to hobby products such as paint racks and stuff to add to your hobby desk rather then terrain. I am just not the biggest fan of MDF terrain, but it is still useful.

Thanks Nate. I haven't had any experience with XPS so unfortunately it was overlooked.

Yes add :) I’m doing FDM but starting to mix DIY to it, just to add some more. I don’t have a resin yet. So Huntswargaming is one of my heroes. I’ll be making a video about it as soon as I’m done with my current board project.

i have only just found your channel, but id like to say; that terrain is like your models. you want the best you can have, its the back drop of your story/battle. GW makes some of the best, its just over priced. resin is second. Filament is next and mdf board is the lowest quality and it breaks just as easily. if your running a tournament and time is an issue mdf is fine. however if you want to make your terrain. either do it by hand or 3d print it. there is a difference when your playing on a fully painted 3 dimesional table.

Some great insights. Hoping to have a fully painted table sometime this year :)

I do like diy terrain..but sadly limited time means alternatives if i want variety. I personally prefer fem terrain, with .1 layer lines well tuned it can be pretty hard to notice lines..and its robust as heck

Time was a big factor for me when it comes to factor. After hearing that, I need to try lower layer lines for FDM.
