- We, as a society, are so blessed to be living in the same generation as them and props to us for having been fans for so long that we were able to witness such historical moment!
Even though I never was a hardcore sone I am so emotionally attached to this comeback of theirs and the statement that it creates! On top of that I am so incredibly proud to see all that they've achieved and I am so incredibly grateful to them for everything they've contributed to kpop.
They are kpop, or at least they contributed to the definition of kpop and I think that this song and MV shows it really well. While the song is not typically my cup of tea, I enjoyed every second of it because it was profoundly motivational and felt like a time capsule. For a few minutes I was sent back in time and boy did it feel great! This nostalgia feeling is something I am craving nowadays and they filled that need for me. I'm also calling this a time capsule because not only does the song feel old school, the fact that they did not age on bit helps create that illusion that I'm back in time.
And regardless whether I likes the song or not, this made me feel great and that feeling is priceless!

Fun fact: Both ITNW and Forever 1 are composed by Kenzie. So, that's why it sounds like an adult version of ITNW. SNSD themselves said that for this comeback, it has to be her to create this song.
Yep, they even sample the piano intro of Into The New World for the bridge of this song too.
Even a line of lyrics is tipping hat to ITNW: "I get strong when I think of you". Also the MV: when they are separated they dedicate in their own field; when they are together they are a group of passionate girls, dancing in white + stripe outfit.
I really hope this isn't the last SNSD song. I was crying because it feels like they are telling me that this will be their last song as SNSD huhu

Forever 1 is like a celebration of kpop and all that it stands for. They wrote the rule book for future GG on how to extend you career beyond a group and still be together.

She didn't. She just popularized the position. There are idols who debuted earlier with the same position like Siwon from SuJu.
@@dasbolz6849 actually no, she really invented the center position. The rest of idols that debuted before here were just put more in the center, but the position was not a thing until they assigned to Yoona in SNSD’s debut
Before her if there was a more visually attractive person the media or group would just focus more on them like Siwon or ses lady but after her even though she wasn’t in the center for all the songs,whenever she did,media gave the titles..it wasn’t even like SM introduced her as the center,her being in the center just made headlines

First,a group of soloists, musical artists, actresses, djs, hosts, businesswomen, endorsers, ambasadresses, chefs, authors, etc. to have all these successful individuals in one group is beyond incredible.
Secondly,I'm literally crying watching the MV. Been a sone since 2011 and I’m so happy to see them together again. And also the line distribution and vocals, my god! And you can also notice on the video their individual career. Happy 15th Anniversary to the Queens and the k-pop legendary Girl Group!

Lee SooMan really lucked out when he put these girls together to make snsd. I GENUINELY believe that the 8 of them have become great friends and sisters to each other … and I can also feel their passion for the industry that they are in just in entertainment itself… it’s so rare to see groups that are THIS close and are real friends that enjoy and love what they do
after 2ne1 reunited at coachella and sistar reunited at sketchbook, this is an another reunion i love. My 2nd gen heart can't take it❤❤
Hoping that the success of this song gives 2NE1 and SISTAR confidence to comeback. Not sure if YG or Starship would permit that, but as always opportunity to make money makes all things possible.
@@properjob2311yeah. Because if they wanna plan to comeback, the agencies that debuted them will still have the final say on that. Or it could be another way like, a member still signed to the agency that debuted and formed them. One good example would be KARA who came back for their 15th anniversary and one of the things that made it possible was Youngji recently renewed her contract w/DSP, the agency that formed Kara.
Theres is a feeling I find listening to only SNSD songs that that I don't find anywhere else it's like the feeling of coming home for the holidays is the only way I can explain it, that happy, warm, celebetory feeling & the fact they sampled ITNW into the song made that feeling even stronger & more emotional bc ITNW always makes me cry anyway ESPECIALLY when SNSD is performing it or it's their version of the song (theres been a lot of really good covers over the years but the orginal form SNSD of course always takes the cake)

That’s what I admire about you. Your honestly. I admit that SNSD wasn’t always the first gg a 2NE1 fan would gravitate to, but over the years as I grew alongside them and their music, it became nostalgic, and i became a fan. Everyone and everything changes, even our taste and appreciation for things. SNSD is that constant reminder of my starting days as a KPOP fan and is now a great reminder of how hard work, talent, and love really does make a group.

I first got into Kpop in 2009 bc of SNSD and Wonder Girls and when I first heard this song it was like I was transported to that time. This sound is the epitome of that era and it still holds up so well over a decade later. Truly the Nation's girl group!

SNSD hasn’t always been my favorites sonically over the years, but they always hold a special place in my heart for being the first ever kpop girl group i listened to (Gee was big when I studied overseas in Japan in late 2009), plus I was born in 1989 like many of the members so I appreciate seeing women my own age killing it still in the Korean entertainment industry.
I don’t know if I’d like this song as much coming from another group, but SNSD sells it entirely and brings it to another level with their charm and emotion. It’ll definitely be on my playlists for a while to enjoy.

This song is INDEED really nostalgic, listening to this reminds me of the times when I can't access TH-cam or streaming platforms. I used to buy VCD of GG's stage (most of it is Gee and Genie) and watch it together with my friend (yes! I can't afford it by myself)

It their 15th anniversary is a group and you should watch KPOP Voyage title “I knew we'd meet again, so I didn't regret the 5 years” you get the understanding and the heartfelt reason why they decided to comeback after 5 years hiatus. Also they (SM) decided to release their album on the girl’s anniversary. By the way it took the girls 5 years to decide on making the album. 😁 I cried because it’s a full circle moment because this song they had the original producer on into the world song to help produce this song with little momentable beats from into the world. ❤️And if you watch the video carefully you can tell what the girls did during their hiatus Hyoyeon was a dj and many of them were good actresses.
I honestly love that the MV shows the girls in each of their solo careers (eg Taeyeon’s solo stage, Tiffany being on a plane being representative of her solo career in the US etc)

Between 2010 and 2014 I had a huge group of friends at school and we always talked about k-pop. Unfortunately I didn't listen to all the same groups as my friends, and they heavily listened to Shinee and SNSD. It wasn't until years later that I looked into the history of 2nd gen groups ( to this day I still love listening to and learning about groups in the past that made the industry what it is now) including SNSD and truly listened to their music and learned about them as individuals and as artists. I wish I could gather that group of friends back and watch this together now that I'm officially a fan as well. It is cool seeing them be allowed back together, especially since some of them left SM for other music companies.
I wish Jessica could have been part of this too though. Idk the details behind that, but I hope she is happy as well.
Wow~ we are completely on the same page about this!! It brought me the taste of the nostalgia but still felt refreshing and new. It's not really a song I would go back to either; it's not my style but it makes me so happy that it exists. I also really appreciated that they led out with Hyo, Yuri and Yoona singing to the end. I think that was unexpected from SM who tends to want the powerhouse to end the song... but so wonderful to see.

The girls' generation are legends, without them girl groups couldn't be where they are today. And those who do not know how to recognize its power are deaf or blind. They are the definition of kpop.
