I totally relate with Esosa. I remember being bullied for liking Girls Generation back in middle school as a guy. Guys watching girls singing and dancing back then feel like an easy way for homophobic person to make fun of you. Now as someone in my mid 20s and still liking Girls Generation, I feel like it's an achievement that I feel like I should be proud of. Not for being bullied, but for liking them then and still liking them even now. I felt like I went back to my middle school when I listened to FOREVER1 and it felt so great.

bruuuh! that people are closed minded, can't see from the other point view, boys like watching beautiful girls singing and dancing is the most normal thing ever dude, female idol most of their fans is male, and male idol most of their fans is female. that's a normal thing ever

"You can skip this" I don't think we shall. Thank you Esosa for being willing to open up about everything this group means to you and giving is more about you. Girls Generation is certainly a huge reason people got into kpop when it wasn't a thing and it's amazing seeing how the entirety of the industry has evolved and grown everywhere. Thanks again for the reaction and the GOATs will remain as such until proven otherwise regardless how long they stay apart.

I'm a 43 year old, balding grown-as* man, and I've lost count of all the times I cried while watching the MV or listening to the song (been a Sone since 2011).
Just 2 days ago, I was called weird by a guy because I had SNSD as my profile pic in FB, and I just laughed it off.

    Fun fact:
The sound of that first 5 seconds of the chorus scientifically draining emotions no matter how many times you hear it, it's because of the selection of chords and synth sounds that blend perfectly.
So if you listen to this song faithfully, read the lyrics, and have the thought that they are a 15 years-young girl group whose last comeback was 5 years ago, the chorus will hit you, everytime.

As a sone for 13 years, I totally connect with what you feel. No matter how many girlgroups come and go, whether I like them or not, Girls’ Generation will always hold that first place. No one can compare to them on my mind. They even have a different aura, since back then. Would love to see you reacting to more Girls’ Generation stuff, be it the japanese discography or old korean title songs, because they’re amazing. Thank you for reacting again for Forever1, much love from Brazil ❤️

Omg Esosa🥺♥️♥️ I totally understand what ur talking about, It was the same for almost all of the international fans in 2009-2011, cuz ppl thought it was silly to listen to these kind of music, because American pop was the trend back then, so it's really made me emotional listening that u had the same experience🥺♥️

I also cried when I listened to the song, the meaningfulness of the comeback and their effort to come back!!! I feel like crying again. also, of course you should start Oslem on her Girls' Generation journey

    LOVE this reaction.
SNSD is very emotional for all of us, because, 12-15 years is a long time, and for those of us who have been listening to them since back then, it will represent a time of not just nostalgia but also deep memories of that period of our lives.
It IS a long time. It is deep.

I’m 22 years old now, and I stan SNSD since 2009 which means I love them for 13 years.. so this comeback means a lot to me. I still love and stan them, like they’re the reason why I love kpop until now. I’ll considered SNSD as my greatest love ( in kpop groups i’ve stan.) I’m proud to be SONE. As what Enosa said SNSD is my STANDARD.

Even though this is my first comeback as a SONE cuz I only knew each girls through their individual activities, not when they were active idols, totally made me think where was I all these years to actually discover and listen to all of their songs. When the comeback happened, I never imagined that I could actually experience a comeback from them in this lifetime. The song really made me feel things as if I was with them since the beginning. I super love them.

  • @Island_516
    @Island_516 ปีที่แล้ว +22

Girls Generation is that artist that got everywhere when getting there at all was almost impossible, for those of us who always felt out of place, who always search for our thing, who once wondered deeply about who we are, GG was a light shining bright in a sea of familiar things that felt foreign. In my country internet wasn't a thing up till around 2015 and even then it was basically unaffordable for most of us, so I just had a few videos of 9 girls singing beautifully in a language I couldn't understand, doing things I had never seen done before. I knew them and the things I had access to by heart but still didn't knew THEM, their significance, their legacy was all a mystery. Heck I didn't even knew their names, half the time I couldn't tell them appart.
Now, years later, much older and aware, I realize that not only have I fallen again, I never actually fell out of love with them. I'm not in the fandom, I don't own merch, I don't follow all of their individual activities, but the place they hold in my life is so fundamentaly meaningful that I can't explain it in words.
I am who I am today because of songs like I got a boy, Gee, Genie, Hoot, Twinkle, Oh!, those were my only Korean content for years and years, they remained embedded in my heart and brain long enough holding still untill I found kpop again, untill I felt whole at last. That's why I cry at "I will love you again in my next life", because I wouldn't have it any other way.
Thank you for taking your time to react to this again, for taking that trip down memory lane that hits like a freight train full on soft spots. Don't worry about crying, most of us are there with you 🤧
Sorry for the long ramble, I loose coherence over Forever 1 🥲

I can totally relate to the emotions, tbh the BRIDGE always makes me cry... the lyrics "I will always love you in the next life"... makes me BAWL everytime... sometimes in life you will face hard challenges that you just need someone to make you happy and to me SNSD did that, they were sort of an ESCAPISISM to me... without SNSD I think I wouldnt be here now alive and breathing... SNSD basically saved me...

omg Esosa I feel youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. I can't watch and listen to this without CRYING. Knowing that lonely feeling. Like I live in the states but I live in a small conservative town in New York, no one knows kpop really, so a lot of my fanboying just happened alone in my bedroom. You should do more SNSD if you want to, if you feel that you can emotionally handle it. And if you do it I promise I will PROBABLY be sitting here crying right along with you lol.

When I first got into kpop, I didn't like SNSD music a lot. I was more into boygroups back then. Didn't appreciate the SNSD sound at all, but still respected their influence. I started liking them after The Boys. And eventually, with time, I learned to appreciate their older songs as well. Into the new world really grew on me.
I don't really consider myself a Sone, but this song does things to me. It feels very nostalgic. It brings me years back. But the lyrics are really hitting me. 15 years and they are still strong, they even got stronger. I've seen many of their performances live for this comeback and they are all glowing. They seem so happy to be finally reunited, to be able to perform together again and that makes me feel very emotional. I've heard the lyrics were written not only for each other but mostly for the Sones. This is very touching. I'm not even that kind of fan but I feel honored to have been abled to witness their growth as a group, but also individually through the years.
    They really are forever.

14:50 Same here. I had a hard time opening myself to other girl groups. Because they set the standard for me. 😭

I think most or almost all of SNSD fan would understand, I am the same, I hold on to GG at my down times most of the time and they are a huge help. When you fee like no one is there for you or like no one understand you, you just got to watch them, like all those compilation stuff and that makes you feel okay. I don't know but that's me. And i swear even in next life i feel like i will be a SONE for Girl's Generation still. ❤️ They're my OG, my Home. ❤️ Sending hugsss! ❤️

I was also alone in my dark tiny studio apartment during my first couple of years in university when I started listening to SNSD and watching their MVs and other content on TH-cam, many many years ago. I also became emotional with this comeback since I completely relate to how they brought light and color in your life, because I was also in a dark and lonely phase of my life and the music I listened to was so depressing, SNSD brought such a fresh energy with their music and videos. I had already become a fan of other boy groups up to that point, but during those days most popular boy groups did edgy music, so I really needed what SNSD had to offer. That's exactly why they became my standard for girl groups as well, without even knowing how popular or established they were. I initially had nothing to compare them to until later, but once I started seeing other groups debuting and being produced in a way that attempted to imitate them, then I knew that "oh, they actually are the standard for the industry itself, it's not just me".

they are like a home to me too 🥹. like literally, i was having a hard time growing up in high school. then i found kpop through SNSD 12 years ago, i watched their reality show to gain laugh on weekend, i listened to their song to kill my insecurity. and the feeling now is like visiting your old memories. cos i always feel pretty when i listen to them. and i found happiness just by watching their sisterhood and interaction. Thank youuu for the realest reaction!! i was bawling my eyes seeing both of you cry and having a breakdown!! 😭💗
this is a comeback to remember and ill be forever cherish and treasure this era huhuhu.

I'm really young and into KPOP for just over a year, so I really don't have the SNSD baggage. I don't have the history and the emotion. But there's something about this song that feels SO nostalgic and warm and GOD idk that makes me cry so much. It makes me feel like all the people and groups I've loved came back and made a song. It is LACED with soft nostalgia that is also heartbreaking. It makes me feel so so emotional and I'm so happy for the group and the fans that are able to experience this to this day. And like, liking kpop means you know who SNSD is. You know who they are, what they've done, everything they did. I think that adds even more to what this song means and makes me feel.
Anyway. I love this song and this group, I respect them a whole fucking lot and my heart goes out to everyone experiencing this comeback. I'm happy for you.

Esosa literally me. I'm not gonna lie, but in my country, if the person love Kpop, they always get bullied. I'm not gonna tell you which country but If you're coming from that county you'll know what I'm talking about. A group of soloists, musical artists, actresses, djs, hosts, businesswomen, endorsers, ambasadresses, chefs, authors, etc. to have all these successful individuals in one group is beyond incredible.
【Btw:The story is kinda like ITNW where each member is doing their thing except in this they are all working their ass off like the real artist they are in real life (singer Taeyeon, DJ HYO, actress Yoona, jetsetting Fany, musical actress Seohyun, modelling Yul, superstar Sunny and Soo). I became a kpop fan because of these girls 12 years ago. I was bullied by the entire classroom physically and emotionally, I hated how the world treated me and I hated everything about myself and I was just basically on the verge of giving up, I would cut myself every night whenever I was alone in my room but when I got to know SNSD back in 2010 it was like feeling that I finally found a place I belonged... I'm so thankful for them and they are the reason I'm still alive and well until now. Fifteen years is a LONG time in K-Pop, that is a HUGE milestone rarely matched by many other groups. I mean, you could count the number of groups that have made it that long on two hands. This is a GIANT and IMPORTANT accomplishment for them (and music in general). It is an emotional time all the way around for everybody because it is so big.
You don't need to feel embarrassed for being emotional because the ladies themselves were emotional while putting this together.
I hope they see this reaction video so they KNOW that they are AMAZING, beyond any doubt.

I love LOVE you guys' friendship!! Özlem's empathy, understanding, emotional support and encouragement for Esosa to keep going was beautiful to see. Idk, I feel like many would've make fun of their friends for having an emotional breakdown over a kpop song and music video so this was so refreshing to witness. Thank you for showing what a healthy and wholesome friendship looks like. And please Esosa, don’t ever apologize for showcasing your feelings

I heard that the short clips of the girls represent what they're doing in their lives now. Like how Tif is on the plane because she travels so much between America and Korea, or Taeyeon on stage singing, Sunny walking on the red carpet, etc.

girls generation that made me a huge big fan of kpop. ive been listening to them from the beginning. They are really the standars for all kpop nowdays. Not only snsd. other grps like 2ne1. wonder girls. kara. bigbang. beast. super junior. fx. and other legendary groups back in a day. But girls generation really the first group who i really stand to from the beginning. Same moment that how i got humiliate by my friends talking shit abt how i like girls generation and kpop indeed. I remember i always cried after school bcs i got talked abt my friends lmao. But now snsd cameback with forever it made me regain my past and i got criedd immediately. I was thinking about my past life through this music, idk why it felt like that. Then i listen to their debut song again which is into the new world....it was a mistake LOL i ended up flooding my tears. Istg if theres people who got into kpop from girls generation era, we have the same phase :"

I cried watching Forever1 MV multiple times so you don't need to apologise Esosa. As a long time Sone since 2008, I feel you. Even in Asia it wasn't easy to find kpop stuff. The internet wasn't what it is now. I had to go on fanmade websites, buy pirated dvds, dig deep in dailymotion to find SNSD content that has English subs. SNSD were legit pioneers for the kpop industry. They were one of the top groups that lead the hallyu wave during 2nd gen.
Also yes, you guys should definitely do a SNSD deep dive especially their JPN songs/MVs cause they are masterpieces. I would say it's even better than their korean discography. The entire Love & Peace album is god tier. Just be careful with the copyright strikes, Japanese stuff tend to get flagged more often.

I've never been a fan of SNSD, I like some songs and stuff. But I've always had the greatest respect for what they represent. Their importance is undeniable and anyone who appreciates kpop MUST HAVE RESPECT FOR SNSD.
This song has such a beautiful message and it's beautiful to see people getting emotional about their comeback.
They are all beautiful and genuinely happy to be doing what they are doing. Their satisfaction is magnetic.
Choi Sooyoung... what a formidable woman! I have sympathy for everyone, but Sooyoung has always been dearest to me.

I totally relate with Esosa said...I felt the same 10 years ago in Panama (Latam) I felt alone to enjoy such amazing artists. I discovered Kpop because of them, and I got the same about concepts of others girl groups (because they made everything first) for that reason, I became fans of f(x) and Red Velvet because they made different concepts and very experimental way to do music.

Your crying expressed everything I want to say, really!! SNSD the best thing happened in kpop industry and Their knowledge of something really beautiful, which doesn't listen to them because everyone knows them without isolation because they're always the most famous, but who doesn't really listen to them has lost the best thing in K-pop and the world. I knew them around 2009 and they were the ones who introduced me and loved me with their music, some choose their bands as if they were the ones who opened the way to K-pop, but SNSD our GG are the first and the best opening for the golden road of K-pop👑 And their presence is the reason why all the bands are there now and their passion for music has given more inspiration and passion to today's bands and this is a fact that some may not accept but they are THE NATIONAL GIRLS AND THE LEGENDARY GIRLS💗THAT NEVER K-pop and music and its listeners will not always abandon them despite the emergence of teams behind bands they will not give up their quality and music
A lot of talk to really say, but only..
    GG 4EVER AND 4EVER SONE💗💗💗

I love girls generation because also they are my first girl groups that I started listen,, when Psy hit big in The USA i got curious about kpop because i wanted something different and wanted more music,, and i found girls generation, 2ne1 , SHINee , BigBang, and wonder girls, they were my top 5 at that time , but girls generation music was hit after hit after hit and i became a fan of their music but i didn't know at that time they had fandoms , so I believe i am a S❤️NEs or SONEs but i do want to see you go down to memory lane on girls generation music, remembering songs like mr.taxi , gee , lionheart, The boys, i got a boy, party, run devil run, and many more, like always i love your smiles and content, keep up the good work 😎😎👍

So all for reacting to Forever1 b-sides, japanese MV, funny variety and members solos. There is a lot to find and love, and its amazing part of beeing a fan even now. So hope to see some more content.

I'm very glad you gave this reaction another try, thank you so much for posting it. Esosa's experience with SNSD helping to prop her up at a time that felt so scary and new and lonely is how I feel as well. I also had no idea who any of them were and in 240p some of them looked similar ;A; I didn't know what a fandom was or that there was anything beyond just listening to the music and watching the MVs but at the time that was all I needed. Even though they aren't my ult group these days, seeing them come back together like this gives me a lot of hope for the future for other girl groups. It feels like SNSD started this whole gg thing, so I hope they continue to set the standard and lift up other ggs with them.

First of all I want say thank you for you to share this, this such a wholesome story 🥰 I related to your story so much specially about to stan GG yet no one around you knows who they are lol it is so lonely because you don't have someone to talk to or to share with, but I also feels so cool and special because I'm the only one who discovered them and know them first, so when later kpop start rising and my friends asking oh you know them? I was like : yoow where have you been? lol you know what I mean? 😆
My first GG comeback was Mr.Taxi so their Japanese songs really mean a lot to me too, and don't be worry about crying so much cause girl let me tell you, since you didn't really join fandom, we all in fandom crying, when it drop 😆 infact, we all crying when the news come out months ago, I think it just common thing for SONE lately 😁
Anyway tomorrow there will be a special event for GG, first fan meeting after 5 years, we definitely be cry again, its for sure, because we don't know what will happen after tomorrow 🥹 So, lets enjoy moment together, lets be Forever 1 💗
