  • As one of the most affordable new 3-row fully electric SUV’s to hit the market, the 2024 #KiaEV9 brings together the practicality of the #Telluride with the electric architecture of the #EV6. The new #EV9GTLine also represents the most powerful and sporty looking variant of the #EV9. With a starting price of under $55k and up to 304 miles of range, this new electric family SUV should be a big hit for consumers looking for an #ElectricTelluride.

    I might consider spending the $80K if it's built in the US, qualifies for the full EV tax credit, and includes the NACS charge port.

      All of those will be the case within a year. Don't care about the NACS port myself when you can use an adapter.

    The starting price for this GT version is the same starting price as a Rivian R1S. My money would go for the Rivian over the Kia any day, at this price point. The Rivian is far more versatile.

    • @theofficialquent3488
      @theofficialquent3488 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not necessarily, the Kia is 10x bigger.. and owners of Rivians said they’d never buy the vehicles again.. they’re expensive for no reason at all.

    • @petehelme7714
      @petehelme7714 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the R1S can be rather noisy inside: wind, air suspension adjusting sounds and creaking etc. Maybe that's the trade-off for something more outback capable.

    To be fair kia/Hyundai vehicles has alot of features and standard equipment at a fixed price, the competition particularly the luxury high end vehicles make you pay more for the same options in my view a fully loaded kia/Hyundai vehicle is worth every penny

    • @Cttechexpress
      @Cttechexpress 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @JonathanRootD the Kia is basically a minivan. More interior space, but the Rivian has much more storage space. Especially the massive front trunk. Also adaptive air suspension, larger 15.6 inch screen, nicer interior, significantly better range and performance... the Rivian is definitely a step up from the EV9

    Really nice 3-row vehicle from Kia even though the 3rd row is a bit cramped and at $78k, it's pretty expensive. My local Kia dealer is charging $5,000 over MSRP making it a $83,000 SUV. Charger port is on the wrong side considering they plan on using the Tesla Supercharger network, that alone is going to be a headache at many of the Supercharger stations. Based on other reviews, Kia's 800V charging is really less than 600V and even though the charging speeds are good, the large battery still takes considerable time to charge. It's a really big vehicle so not very efficient compared to smaller EVs, other tests show 562 kw/mi vs 250 kw/mi for something like a Tesla Model Y. Why wouldn't the graphics on the screen match the vehicle? No way I'd buy the base model, way too underpowered. An ID Buzz would also be really cool as a second option for a 3 row EV.

    Electric powertrains are going to change the game. One of the biggest reasons to pay the premium for a luxury brand is the powertrain....they are exponentially better than mainstream brands (especially BMW's powertrains). Electric motors are really going to take that advantage away because of their smooth power delivery.

  • @amigajoe

    I would love to see all EV reviews stop talking about 10% to 80% charge times, due to the fact that that can represent a different number of miles based on the vehicle. What would make more sense is if all EV reviews cited the time required to add 100 miles of range.
    Something like "This EV can add 100 miles of range in 13 minutes when starting from 10%'
