    YAAAYYY!!! A NON water resistant sunscreen!!! No double oil cleanse necessary. This is a very big deal for me and I've often gone out briefly with a big hat and no sunscreen because I didn't want to have to do a double cleanse later.
    I've never understood why manufacturers think it's necessary for everything to be water resistant. I mean yes, if you're on the beach, in and out of a pool, outside doing something that's likely to make you sweat - in other words doing something where water resistance is necessary, then it's good. But how many of us in our daily lives, find ourselves in those situations? Most days you're outside when you go to and from work, you're doing some errands and walking back and forth to the car, situations in which sun exposure is relatively brief.
    So why do you need a water resistant sunscreen?? Why do manufacturers assume most of us have daily lives that require a water resistant sunscreen? It's just plain dumb.
    So please Kelly, find more sensible solutions for us. Thank you.

    I find it's the physical/hybrid sunscreens that have any chance to pill. The zinc or titanium have to be coated in order to prevent clumping in a formula to have an even spread for higher SPF and when that coating is disrupted those ingredients will ball up. I love the Verdio UV Moisture gel (220g in pump bottle) but re-application is very likely to pill up on me. It's a great body sunscreen though.

    Tocobo is my current fave for everyday sunscreen. No eye sting, light weight with natural glow for my very oily skin. It doesn’t migrate/shift/travel even when I sweat so it’s really good cause I won’t have eye sting.
    COSRX’s Vit E sunscreen is what I am using this winter (here down under) cause it’s more occlusive than the other sunscreen BUT even when I don’t sweat, sunscreen travels to my eyes and stings the heck out of it ☹️ It gives a very glowy finish but tones down to glowy finish after sometime. I’ll most probably not gonna purchase this again :(

    Hi Kelly these are new to me and this is the first review of these I have seen. Of all of them perhaps the goodall H cordata one is a maybe, but as someone who struggles with the old generation filters (rosacea and eczema) the cosrx is a definite no for me. i live in the UK and we have a ton of choices in spf's, so there isn't the same incentive to go to K beauty for a daily spf. I like mineral spf's for the cooler months as they're easier to tolerate with rosacea, but I do use a hybrid spf in the Summer (Ultrasun) for the enhanced protection. I just have to super careful with chemical spf's and many of the most hyped don't work for me at all eg I had a horrible reaction to the BofJ one everyone else is loving. Best wishes.

  • @dannyc3008
    @dannyc3008 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    the mary & may sunscreen is a really interesting case because if you look at the inci list and compare it to the Beauty of Joseon, the vehicle of the formula and the filters are the exact same, and theyre both manufactured by Kolmar, i believe they both use the same Kolmar base formula and customize the actives/plant extracts to their liking, i also believe the roundlab birch sunscreen reformulation uses the same Kolmar base as well!

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it's the same base but each brand will put their signature on it, Kolmar really hit it out of the ballpark with this base formula!

    Unfortunately most Korean sunscreen reviews does not excite me anymore as they are ALL very similar. None of them are really water resistant (not really practical in summer), and mostly dewy, slight diff in chemical filters, finish & texture between them. I would love to see something really different such as one that is truly water resistant or with other types of innovative active ingredients or diff application. Interesting sunscreens would be something like ISDN (dna repair + 40 min water resistant) also the Scinic sunscreen in the cushion packaging for easy reapplication and one that has matte finish and not glowy like 99% of the korean sunscreen.

      There are many of us who do NOT want water resistant sunscreen, so we're very grateful to be able to find K and J Beauty products that don't have it. Most of the western sunscreens are water resistant, so there are many many options out there for you.
