Thank you so much. Throughout my coursework, tolerance values are always referenced, but not once have I been taught HOW these tolerance values are determined in the first place by the engineer. Great lecture.
Really a very good video, I was struggling to know how we decide the tolerances , in my previous companies i was referring other similar drawings, some standard sheets depending upon what process we use, but this information was never given, now understood the overall idea of tolerancing the dimensions, thanks once again.
Very informative. Explained in simple language. Thanks sir. Do you have any lecture series explaining tolerance in deep, with examples? It could be very informative.
Thanks you very much for giving practical work information about tolerance and dimensions used in design field. Very helpful who want to enter in design field. Don't look for like n subscription, it's will help students in getting jobs.👍
Likes and subscription help me to reach larger audience on TH-cam; so that they too might be benefited from watching videos from my channel; Glad that you liked the content;
If tolerances are not mentioned in the drawing in front of the dimension, then use "IS 2102" Standard! But you could also use IS 919 which lists 18 Grades - IT1 to IT18; If you know the dimension and part manufacturing process (IT Grade), then you could choose right corresponding tolerance as well. Look for these 2 standards in your organization and you will find them :-)
Thank you Ri Yaz!! I am glad that you liked the content :-) Please also watch my video Engineering Fits which is related to this topic only and let me know your feedback; Keep watching, keep learning and keep growing in your career;
Thanks for effort. I have a question. Is their any criteria to assign tolerances for critical dimensions. What shoud we refer? Which standard we follow? If standard critical value are not feasible with manufacturing then what should we Refer?

Very nice video. I have a doubt. Selection of Tolerance is by Fit, Form & Functional. Fit we have chart. Functional is by Stack up Analysis. How Tolerance is selected for Form?
ISO286 standard also include geometric tolerances. Also, geometric tolerances are ore often refinement of size tolerances or intended to meet assembly needs, so we can start with reasonable value and then refine them as per stack up results [tighten it up or open it up]
Tol stackup analysis is a very big topic to cover in TH-cam videos. But if you want to learn this topic in details, you can explore my online training. Link: quampus.com/courses/c187vvb3/tolerance-stackup-analysis-root-sum-square-method-using-gdt But yes, I will create introduction video soon.
Hi dear if 7.80REF -Finnish size +-0.2 Under 10mm what HL & LL tolerance? How calculating? 7.800-0.2=7.600 LL 7.800+0.2=7.900 HL ?🤔. 0.2 means =200micromiters 🤔is it 🤔
Dimensions are governed by design, packaging space and interfaces with other parts in assembly. Tolerances are governed by manufacturing and variations in processes. Function should accomodate the tolerance variations which could be verified by Tolerance Stack up analysis.

Indians are fk'in smart man. This man has explained better than any other nationality person on youtube. Like seriously. Hats off!
Thank you! That's most adorable comment!
Glad that you liked it.
The way of teaching and expressing is superb....Anybody can understand easily ❤
Glad that you liked my teaching 😊
Very Basic info but you have made easy to understand the type 0f tolerances, Thankyou
Best video I'm looking for this almost one month for this much clearer explanation
Glad you liked it
Very deep informative compared to other videos, because the topic, presentation and information conveyed is at an excel level.
Thank you 😊
One of d best vidio & channel to learn engineering design concepts in Very simple language.
🙏🙏👍👍
Stupendous knowledgeable person ever I have seen. Please details video of GD AND T.... thanks a lot
Thank you Snehansu! Watch my other videos on GD&T topic as well :-)
If possible ,please make videos related to stake up analysis or gap analysis... Thank you
Sir please make complete video.. It would make more clear view..
Really a very good video, I was struggling to know how we decide the tolerances , in my previous companies i was referring other similar drawings, some standard sheets depending upon what process we use, but this information was never given, now understood the overall idea of tolerancing the dimensions, thanks once again.
Glad that it was helpful!
Very Informative
Excellent explanation of bilateral tolerance!! Thank you !
Very good explanation on determining tolerance for a dimension. I have never seen this type of explanation. Useful one.
Thank you!! Glad that you liked it!
Information shared by you is very helpful. Thank you so much sir. But please explain about stack up Analysis how to do it.
Sure, in near future;
Hi sir your explanation is so nice and understanding easy can you share ppt is also good for me for future reference
kindly give vedeo for selection of material , design consideration and machanism orientated
Very informative. Explained in simple language. Thanks sir. Do you have any lecture series explaining tolerance in deep, with examples?
It could be very informative.
Thank you! i always wondering how to choose a tolerance value for all my 2d drawing and i find my answer here
Glad that it was helpful.
Nice content please add more videos
Thank you Anil!! Also watch related video Engineering Fits where I have explained Engineering fits in details;
Sir please make video on Tolerance Stack up analysis.
Thanks you very much for giving practical work information about tolerance and dimensions used in design field.

Happy to see you here buddy!!
Nice n helpful..
Thank you :-) Also watch video: Engineering Fit; It's connected with the same topic; I hope that it will help your design career;
Very useful & good info. sir, Pls make video containing details of Stack up analysis & GD&T.
Sure thing :-)
Thanks for effort.
I have a question.
Is their any criteria to assign tolerances for critical dimensions.

Read comments; I have mentioned the standard which could be referred for tolerance.

@@mechanicalvault Thanks for your reply.
sir i wanted to ask how positional tolerance value in the feature control frame are decided please clear this doubt sir
I understood very well , but little bit doubt in choosing tolerance
What's your doubt?
@@mechanicalvault about stack up analysis sir.
Could you please make a video on , how to read drawings.
@@mechanicalvault Thanks for your response Sir ☺️
@@supritpatne6659 yes, in near future :-)
@@mechanicalvault k sir , I will wait for the video and thanks.
Super👌👌
Thank you
Nice design stuff!!
Thank you Anita!!
Could you please explain in detail how to give tolerance from material & function.
For functional tolerance, we need to perform tolerance stack up analysis.
Sir please make detail video of stackup analysis
Tol stackup analysis is a very big topic to cover in TH-cam videos.

Nice video,very informative..
Thank you Vignesh!
Sir, if you have the tolrence chart, Can you share me sir .
Good information sir.. Thanks
Please make videos on GD& T with practical examples
Thank you!! Sure!!
Can you please tell me about basic dimension, how can it define ?
sure, soon!
Basic dimension: These dimension have no tolerance but they locate only a tolerance zone in feature control frame
Thank you so much
🙏🙏👍👍

if organization dont have tol chart then from where i can get it??
You are very good , i like your accent and your talking way its very british.
Glad that you liked the video.
if tolerance not given so how to consider dimensions
Dimensions are governed by design, packaging space and interfaces with other parts in assembly.
Tolerances are governed by manufacturing and variations in processes.
Function should accomodate the tolerance variations which could be verified by Tolerance Stack up analysis.
Well clearly said, pls take video about tolerance stack up analysis and process capability study Cp Cpk
Sure, in near future;
Sir keya tolarence ka velue Negative me v hota hai??
Tolerance is amount of variation allowed on dimension and variation can't be negative; It should be practically more than ZERO;
7:09 how to choose tolerance
Use general tolerance chart as per ISO 286-1
I have created video of general tolerances, do watch.
@@mechanicalvault Thank you Sir, I've watched the video, you shared in LinkedIn also. Thank you for sharing knowledge 🙏🙏
can you provide pdf plz
best regards
