went to elementary school with Gyan Riley (pronounced "Yawnee" ) and one of the very coolest and most decent humans ive ever known i remember him having to go to guitar lessons after school his dad was also very cool and probably responsible for helping shape music in more instances than he is credited for and the rest of his family all incredibly kind and intelligent people

I enjoy this kind of improvisation much more than Terry's usual endless repeating arpeggios. This music feels like it actually goes somewhere. Great interplay between them. The arpeggios are there, but the dynamics and tempo vary, the notes change, and life is breathed into the music. Fantastic.
Superficially more conventional (ambient jazz?) than the hypnotic minimalist mantras of classic Riley, this new music accumulates a seductive charm as it rolls along. Coming to Toronto in about a month (Jan/19), I look forward to being entranced.
