Great idea, can be scaled up or down just using difrerent guage wire, I have roads on my ho railway that need this now.

You could also use shotgun Coax, the kind of thing you get with Sky Digital dishes. Might be a bit cheaper than all that copper 😁

If you use flat headed bolts and some washers (to spread any crash forces through the plastic) I reckon you could drill the track borders and fit them
