The theme music was originally written for the 1966/88 Mission Impossible TV series on which the movies are based on. I haven't heard the show's version but I think they modified it for the movies. Fun fact: Jon Voight's character (Jim Phelps) was the protagonist on the show and they made him a villain in this one which took many people by surprise. Tom Cruise's character was created for the movies.
That’s so cool! That would be very surprising. I did some research and it looks like both the 60s and 80s were big times for a lot of spy shows and movies.
@@BecauseBecaBeBecait was big but very low budget. If you watched the older shows it’s amazingly cheesy and also has some VERY badly written depictions of non Americans.
Another fun fact: Jon Voight is actually Angelina Jolie's father. In Tomb Raider he plays her (dead) father. Though the two don't really get along, mostly due to political differences. After shooting Tomb Raider she became a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador. ps: The movie with Tom Cruise where his name is Jack is called Jack Reacher (and the sequel is called Jack Reacher: Never Go Back).
This is one of those influential movies I always knew I should watch, but never have. This peaked my interest enough that I might actually go watch it now
That was a fun watchalong with you, loved yer giddyness throughout all this. There were a lot of spy flicks and shows that have been adapted over time from the 60's, like this franchise. The "Good morning Mr Phelps" line carried quite the goosebumps inducing cache in its day. I'm glad yer checking out the other M:I flicks, but there's also Man From Uncle, the recent one with Cavill as well, the 007 series, as well as Val Kilmer's fun-cheese that was 1997's The Saint. The other 90's show-to-movie was Harrison Ford's 1993 flick, The Fugitive. I hope you try those out as well. - instantly subscribes.
So I watched some bts and Cruise did perform that water stunt and the train stunt in this one! So he was already doing it! So crazy. Can’t wait to see the rest!
Man, if I had a time machine I'd go back to 1996. Besides the whole Monica Lewinsky thing, OJ's trial or the Pierce Brosnan era of James Bond, the '90s were a grand time to be alive, as well for me, an 11 year old. By the way, as already mentioned here in these comments (boo, somebody beat me to it) that original Mission Impossible theme was written for said tv series by one of my favorite Cinema Composers Lalo Schifrin. He also wrote the entire score with his jazz fusion style to one of the greatest movies ever.. Bullitt.
Tom Cruise largely does his own stunts (in this and the next half dozen MI films,) and yes, he learned magic for the bit with the disc, so he did that himself too.
got o the part where you said to comment so here i am haha but really im new to your channel and im loving your reactions so far this is mt second video so far and im just soo happy to be here
Director is Master Brian de Palma. React to any of his movies and you will have a blast! I have subscribed the first time on Star Wars, a New Hope. Being a former film producer and screen writer, I have to compliment you for your comments which are way, waym waaaay deeper than the average giggles we get around these days. Congrats.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment :) I am definitely trying to do my own thing here! 💚 I’m not film expert but I have a bit of background I try to bring.
I am confusion. First, thank you so much 16:50 is longer watch time than the average watch time 💚. Second, I’m not sure why that is equal to “shame”, haha! But thanks for watching! 💚
Another fact: the theme music was written by Lalo Schifrin an Argentine composer. He made a loth of film music and tv shows from the 60s to the 2000s.

Hey, welcome! Thanks for being here and for the recommendations. MI4 video comes out later this week!
The multiple POV's, a DePalma signature move. #Carrie
He start to do his stunts in Mi2

The 1996 Mission Impossible theme goes so damn hard.
the shot with focus on both foreground and background is called a split diopter shot.

Agreed, even though I was younger! It's so cool to see all the "high tech" 90s stuff in this film.
The only thing I knew about mission impossible is that meme song thing
That’s about as much as I knew! Super excited to see the rest! Hope you’re doing well Dizzy!
Same
@0:36 that one is Mission Impossible: Fallout.
Really fun reaction. Love your energy!

A lot of good predictions so far: the Phelps twist; 'Use the gum'
Great reaction ..
Hopefully, you react to more TOM CRUISE movies
Thanks! So far I have the first 4 MI4 reactions up on my channel! Going to continue as I hear the series gets even better as time goes on!

FYI: The end credits music: U2
Movie reaction very nice 👍
Thank you!

I think the word you're looking for is "split diopter"
Jack Reacher is the other Tom Cruise movie you're thinking of.. I took inspiration from it to make my TH-cam name.. Lol.
YES! Ah, that makes sense why your name always seemed familiar to me.
Speaking of films based off of early TV series...You should see "The Man from UNCLE" movie. #movietitle
first one is the best for me, second one is 6th

Mission Impossible is cool visually, but story in Bourne is much better
Oh my word! I wish I could forget the Bourne series and re-watch. Actually this makes me want to watch the series again...
