  • From the highway, Houston may all seem like one sprawling jungle, but hidden among the highways is this destination where the Trippin' Springs flow eternally.
Caffeinated for your trippin’ adventures at Trilogy Brew in Old Town Spring, which sits inside a 100-year-old grocery warehouse.
One of the best meals in Texas sits right inside these walls, which is apparent by the line around the block. It’s a beautiful plate of the Texas trinity - tender brisket, cheddar jalapeno sausage and juicy ribs - that’s more than worth the hour-long (or more!) wait.
With 18,000 sq. feet of rocking climbing and bouldering, you could say this place ROCKS. But it’s more than just a rock-climbing gym, it’s also one of the “top” spots to eat in town. Once you reach the peak of the rock wall, you can reach new food heights in the cafe with the gourmet Farmhouse Burger and
The Loose Caboose is bring all the fried food fun of the fair to Old Town Spring. Fill up on funnel cakes, fried Oreos and all those other things your mama wouldn’t let you have for lunch when you were a kid.
Just east of Old Town, the historic Spring Creek flows through Pundt Park, where the sand bars beckon to anyone looking to beat the heat on a summer day.
This might be one of the weirdest museums in America, but it’s also very educational. From casket-making to mummification, you’ll learn a whole lot. I’d say it’s a must-see!
Get an unexpected encounter from some of the wildest animals on earth…in TGR Exotics owner Gwen’s backyard! This refuge is a place for folks to get up close with all sorts of wildlife, from bears to monkeys. My personal favorite is the Sloth Encounters…just hold onto your hats for that one, y’all!
This “hospital” is manning the frontlines of Doll rescue and rehab, helping little trippers enjoy dolls for generations. Both parts awesome (and a little creepy) this place is full of antique dolls. It’s a one-of-a-kind spot for toy lovers!
Connie’s has been a staple for almost 2 decades - and with a huge variety of rubber duckies and bath products, it’s definitely all it’s “quacked” up to be!

I used to live just across the railroad tracks from Old Town Spring. So much has changed but nice to know the doll hospital is still there! I don’t know if it’s still there but back then the place for BBQ was Reed’s BBQ right outside OTS. Started life in a literal shack and was a large building with a great dining room by the time we moved back to the SW side of Houston. Made me homesick for the time when my kids were babies and I was younger!!

Here's wishing the Spring Cafe (Wunsche Bros Cafe) will come back some day. I think it was the coffee shop you showed at the beginning of the video. I used to eat burgers and CFS there starting in '71.

It's open again! It was under construction when we filmed but it's BACK! The coffee spot was a different building on the other side of downtown.

The coffee shop used to be an antique shop. I believe they closed because the owner was retiring.

Red oak is literally my top choice when smoking brisket. I would say Post oak, hickory, mesquite in that order after that

I live about 2 miles from OTS. The way to avoid the lines at Corkscrew is to order online and pick your pickup time. Surprised you didn't touch on the haunted aspect of Old Town Spring. There is a book out about it, and they offer tours as well. I've had burgers at 5ate, and even walked on that same beach on the creek. Did not even know about the TGR park. Will have to try it out. Thanks for the visit to my neck of the woods.

They stopped doing it. I grew up walking to the fest every year. I talked to the staff at the fried Oreo place (loose caboose) and they said the guy who used to run it every year retired and moved away and no one has any desire to do it again. 😢

Im surprised you didnt visit Wunsche Brothers Cafe or The Jailhouse Saloon. Wunsche Bros there forever. It did catch fire a few years ago so it may have been closed when you came through. The Jailhouse Saloon was the old Spring jail. Still had the cells and bars inside. It was sold recently so it might have been closed down.

    • @joeys2556

Closed for sure! The one across the tracks is there still.
