I love it! back to a time when E 430 meant 4.3 L V8, unlike today. I'm lucky to be born in this era that soon changed .. those are one of the most attractive Mercedes-Benz models ever made
That C-Class Sport package - those alloys, that steering wheel and speedo dials - and that body style with the bumpers, side skirts and smoked tail lights...whenever I see this updated model today, I always think "gee that's a handsome-looking Mercedes!" It surely has to be a classic!
franchi123 Lol fuck you. I missed mine :( I had the '98 - I had to sell because I was moving back to my country and the she's got the steering on the wrong side =( I hope you're keeping it in mint condition!
I own a w202 sport- it is REAL Mercedes old world quality. I owned a w212 2010 for a week...the engine went bad...and it did not drive like a Mercedes.
BEST year for Mercedes in my opinion. 1998 - 1999 was a great year. Full of beautiful cars that were pretty reliable. 1998 was the last year of the REAL mercedes.
Chthonian121 1995 was truly the last spare no expense to build quality MB mentality. These are nice cars in the video. However, I would take a MB W124 chassis in diesel engines. I have a 87 turbo and 95 non turbo. Borh of my cars are not stoplight race cars. These newer cars would blow my cars off the linevin a flash.
Brad Couture while I agree I’d still say the w140 was good all the way through the 1999 life cycle. After that with the w220 I’d say they went to shit until 2007/2007 with the introduction of the w221.
I actually looked it up and the system was Still called 4matic but 4ETS was a component of the 4matic system and it was completely revamped from the original 4matic to make it more reliable and less problematic
Jesus - it got worse than your note....look how the brand has slowly gone sooo mass market and low quality. I think 1999 was the last time they built a model range of quality.
G-Class wasn't sold by Mercedes in the US until 2002. Prior to that, they were either grey-market imports or they were modified to US regulations by a third-party importer.
Sorry gonna have to doubt that - I have a 2013 C250 and it is absolutely brilliant. Hasn’t cost any more to run then these C classes. It’s ok to not have enough cash to operate one, remember it’s a Mercedes Benz not a Toyota

The late 90's techno music in the background brings back a lot of childhood nostalgia.

Never understood why they renamed the S class coupe the CL, or the E class coupe the CLK. I'm glad they changed it back.
+jwatwater The e class couple looked like a e class but was on the same platform as the c class and they wanted to separate the cars in the lineup
Yeah, I know. I just always thought it would have been less confusing.
Wait, Mercedes recommends oil changes every 10,000 miles? And here I am getting them at 6k. Now it makes sense to be paying $135 for them.

I didn't know they stopped called the awd system "4Matic" and instead called it 4ETS for a while.
I thought the difference was that you could turn off 4matic but 4ets is allways on
Ooooh. Maybe so.
