Dire says: "I don't want to use LaserIO for that... setting up all the cards is a pain." Sounds like a feature request: copy/paste connector settings, like XNet has.
It is even more amusing when you watch it and realise that he didn't say it about his 9by9s or any other building project, but about the tools he uses.
It's a fair reaction IMO, with Tinkers for example a "magnetic" tool only magnets for a second or two after you break something with it, it's not just passively going all the time.
Good grief, I haven't played Minecraft since...... 1.7.10 Life has me all over the place since, now I have I chance to catch up on DW20. Seeing how many versions I'm behind, I'm glad I have a couple months off. Really happy to see you're still making videos Dire, been following you since 1.4.7ish.
The sprinkler is pretty handy for growing most crops. If you make the special farm land from dry peat moss, and also use the sprinkler, the crops grow fast. I'm using it for seeds to create "fuel" for early game power.
am i the only one staring at the wood logs on his bar when he is looking for wood towards the end of the episode. Dire needs a personal assistant to find things for him...
For anyone who is looking at creating the gobber repair ring: Postive: It works on a wide variety of items, including Silent Gear. Negative: It's pretty slow. It ticks at about the same rate as the Repair Talisman from ProjectE, but the Ring only repairs 1 item at a time.
Myself, I am using neither AE nor RS. I did enough Ars to get Endstone via conjuration essence, and then I made the occultism storage. It provides 128 slots unaugmented that can each store 1024 of an item. I've augmented mine with 6 tier 1 stabilizers, each of which add 256 slots each. So my storage size is 1664 slots at the moment. It can be upgraded much further.
if you have access to villagers, you can give one of them a workstation (in this case that would be the charging station) and he will then be able to sell you certus quartz and maybe fluix crystals ... makes it a lot easier to progress quickly in this mod as the crystal growth is a major time gate even with the accelerators
Once he automates the crystals being mined, they will take no time for a couple stacks. You only need one controller and a stack of fluix to get a good network running in that size base
I think making a water wheel and fan would take the same amount of time as it took to make the dough manually... It would cost 4 iron but you'd be set for the rest of the series.
Its definitely an interesting choice, the amethyst mechanic is cool, but even with the massively sped up growth its still going to be tedius to get lots of amethyst. I assume the intended mechanic is to use filtered annihilation planes (AE's block breaker) to pick up fully done quarts crystals & the center block when it decays and have the white block placer planes output new budding blocks. And then have an auto water puddle to convert the blocks back into budding. This issue is this already sounds like a good chunk of resources and effort to automate with just AE, so how long will it take to go from the stage Dire is at to having it fully automated if you rush to automating it?
@@robertpickel2447 definitely a good idea, i was just using what i will call the Botania principle where a mod ideally can automate all of its resources with just itself and vanilla mechanics. And considering AE is such a powerful storage & item handling mod I'm not surprised i can do everything itself. (I just am not sure on how much material it would need to do this, and I didn't catch if the flawless buds never decay or not)
"there needs to be something in the pack to automate it" - yes there is. Its called applied energistics2. You can automate it with annihilation and formation planes and some fiddling with subnets.

The fact that you had to go through an entire episode just to get your crystals and slime set up is one of the reasons I always go for Refined Storage instead. It’s easy enough as you showed to make slime, and unlike with Applied Energistics, you can start right away making the processor binding and get going. I also like that unlike Ae2, you don’t have to worry about channels for your cables, you don’t have to worry about having items with NBT taking up an entire stack in your storage, which with apotheosis is going to happen frequently, and you don’t have to go out and find the patterns, then wait for the crystals to grow etc. You can just get going as soon as you have the materials in RS :)
Dire, for bulk breaking plants, I would look into either the Silent Gear for either the machete or the sickle. Both are really good, though the machete has lower range than the sickle, but is also a more powerful- if less speedy- sword. Also, as far as quickly growing seeds, I would look into Farmer's Delight for the organic compost block, as it turns into rich soil which provides random growth ticks every couple of minutes and grows crops REALLY fast.
Anyone else having issues in the pack with claimed chunks not staying force-loaded? Got a ranged pump that won't stay active once i leave the nether :(
Glad to see you're doing what you can to stop using as much cobblestone as possible... I mean, it's not like you have a cobblestone generator mod in this modpack or anything *COUGHCOUGH CobbleForDays COUGH*, but points for the thought... 😁
Hmmm, the first day of winter vacation and I'm up at 7 am (EST) to catch Direwolf! I really like this pack but saddened that I can not stream this on my channel. (alas maybe by Christmas I can have a real computer that will play the games I want and stream at the same time!) Coffee and Buttermilk pie for breakfast if you've followed my posts here. (cause I can)
Jesus Christ people can you let this guy just play mc? I've been watching him for a year and every comment section is filled with people telling him what to do. He's played enough mc to know what he's doing, just let him play!
Dire, automate the AE cristal with AE itself, would be nice to see the mods being automated with themselves when possible, and later using a different mod for more OPness
Going into the config folder then forge-client.txt then changing the experimentalForgeLightPipelineEnabled to 'true' helped with the lighting for me. But i've heard it made the items come back for some people
Cobblestone before hoes.... 😉. By the way Dire. Cyclic has a tool to remove grass. And you might want to check the rings and medals from gobber, they are really useful. Specially the repair and the step assist ones. And there is a mining one 11x3x11
Seems like every new version of AE2 has a goal to make everything harder in the mod and just pads it out with time spend instead of find a new way to have a low mid and high level to the mod.
I want nothing to do with AE2. I'm VERY happy with Refined Storage o3o AE1 was fun when you didn't have to do complicated BS with CHANNELS and whatnots, and now you have to worry about growing Certus Quartz?! Fuuuuuck that.
If you want to break all that grass... install ultimine back in the pack... right click with your bare hand with it active and BLAM.... no more grass!!
Building a complete playlist of dw20-12. So far managed to get all seven videos. I don't know what happened to dw20's "official" playlist for Season 11, it seems to be truncated and only has 107 entries when it's meant to have 121 videos. Any word on that, direwolf?
This is the part of the series where I usually say - 'Refined Storage here I come!' - But then just noticed that there doesn't seem to be any slime islands in this pack. Dagger!!!

Horribly balanced modpack with bottlenecks (intentional or otherwise) such as glowstone and slimeballs that personally I find kill the enjoyment. After 2 days I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore which has never happened before.

It is possible to pick up flawless certus quartz blocks by using a cardboard box :)
The only thing more useful than a cardboard box is your towel.

Dire you didn’t upgrade when you fixed the pipe connection. Its like 200fe/t thats why ur choking so hard on power

I think making a water wheel and fan would take the same amount of time as it took to make the dough manually... It would cost 4 iron but you'd be set for the rest of the series.
I was thinking the exact same thing. It wouldn’t cost much at all, and you could then automate making slime or just get a crazy amount of bread.
Maybe I’m missing something but this new AE2 mechanic seems to be a major gate on progressing in the mod. Massive AE projects look to be painful
Agreed, though I enjoy the budding mechanics, I do not enjoy that ae2 decided to use it for one of their key resources.
