I love that you made a flying broom last episode and at the start of this one you are running far more slowly across multiple biomes. Why dire, why do you make cool tools and forget about them immediately
For the repair kit, you can spread out the materials to fill it faster. The higher the level of armor, the weaker the thread upgrade slots that appear. You don’t have to access the enchanting core. It can be buried in the ground.
i love how gobber is so broken even dire who completely circumvents time gating at every opportunity by understanding how mods work is like "uh...you can just do THAT? just like that?"
Evertytime I would look at gobber I ended up crafting another ring to the point where I have end gear and armor before doing much with the other mods. The only thing stopping me from going further is the amount of nether stars I need to collect.
Try making a mob farm using ars. I think all you'd need to do is trap whichever mobs you want in a room, name the hostiles so they dont despawn, then use the ars familiar that harvests without hurting them. Should be a fun alternative to the usual tech methods.
@@efficiencyvi8369 Only for the hearts, which he’ll 100% forget about since his mod memory doesn’t seem to transfer from one series to another He even said it himself. “I need a mob farm but people want a magic start.” It never even occurred to him to do a magic based mob farm.
In the newest update of Ars you can actually capture the mob in a jar, and the drygmy (i think) will take the items off them. Even works with the wither. It does require quite a bit of source though. Ars is getting better and better!
Drygmy farms are amazing. He will probably grab every mob he can find and stuff them in jars eventually. It’s fun. Plus the more variety the drygmy have the happier they are and the more/faster they grab stuff.
UNLIMITED SOURCE If you have snad in this pac then plant cactus on a single block and use a timer on it to make it grow super fast. Set something 3 blocks above the snad so when the cactus grows 3 high it auto breaks. Setup something to collect the cactus like hoppers or a vacuum hopper. If done right you can fill multi source jars in seconds. Enjoy.
The legendary and rare mob drop armor is miles ahead of Ars’ armor. Whichever mod added the “diablo style” prefix and suffixes is really OP. For instance, just playing along with your series I’ve got a blue level turtle shell head, purple level golden armor, blue iron legs, purple golden boots. With those I have 29 hearts of health (58 health) with +55% movement speed, and a ton of +armor stat. All of this without crafting anything, just finding and killing the rare mobs that spawn.
Brian Green while that's true at the start, you can break the gear down and craft your own. this will result in more powerful gear that's tailor made to what you want/need.
If you throw that gear on the enchanting apparatus, it keeps the bonuses and enchants when making or upgrading the mage armours. I have a set of the "gold" mage armour that has the same armour value as the iron one from the apotheosis bonuses. And like others said, you can apply that stuff to your own gear too, even reroll what you already have to make it better
Hey Dire, I don't normally comment, but as I binge Season 12, I want to say thank you for adding the chapters in the scrubber bar! It's a great touch and I hope you can do this for us going forward.
Hey Dire. Loving the series. Have you ever thought about putting out a "lite" version of your pack for people with PCs that are more potato than power? As one of the potatoes, I'd really appreciate it.
man seeing all the cool new magic mods like ars and hexerei really make me miss thaumcraft. i remember hearing something about updating it a while ago, but it's been a long time. one mod i hope to see in the future that i recently played with, is Malum. it's apparently somewhat popular according to curseforge download numbers, but i've never seen anyone talk about it, or any packs have it. it's one i definitely think dire should check out at some point.
That’s my complaint about him “dabbling” with mods, mostly magic. He does a bunch of advancements in a mod, and then drops it and more or less ignores that it exists
Indeed. "Chorus Fruit? Nah, need to kill the dragon for that." -- No you don't? Get to the End, hop onto your broom, and Bob's your uncle, as Dire likes to say. ;) (Granted, some means to return home other than the portal in the End is necessary, but seting up a matter receiver etc. in his base shouldn't take longer than five minutes.)
Anyone know if there are plans to add mods that were in the last version of the pack such as elementalcraft or blood magic? I know elementalcraft is out for 1.19 already as it's present in some other packs, but just curious before I jump in
Glad Gobber is there for the people that like op early games, but jeez it seems to just shatter any semblence of balance without some serious changes with crafttweaker/kubejs
I'd really love to see you use Ars for automation instead of just using another science mod. You've touched ars a little a few times but never really incorporated it into your larger base infrastructure
Hey pack welcome back to Direwolf20 and the only text based cooking show on the internet, "Cooking with Dire" where I do a recipe that some folks read. Today, French Toast Bannana Bread. Yup, I took Aunt Sharons bannana bread (she gives out a lot of these loafs) (delish but, way too much) I cut them into manageble size, dipped them into a well beaten egg, and then fired them up. (the well beaten egg had egg, a bit of cream, and a touch of vanilla) When frying make sure the heat is not too high (4 out of 10 on my stove) Wait until crispy, add that REAL maple syrup (or syrup of you choice if you don't have maple) (but, how do you not have maoe syrup?) Make your coffe and enjoy! Tune in tommorw to see what's cooking. And Remember to keep it easy and cook something good!
Very cool armour. Magic for the win. Dire will be Dire. Needs to automate harvesting crops so the source link works. Has a lovely crow perfect for the job. Does everything by hand... When people ask for a magical start they probably expect you to use the things you get from the mod 😉
Dire: has a crow to auto harvest his farm, throws it in the computer

classic Dire.
to be fair he was worried about the crow getting killed but with the mega torch active that seems unlikely.

It’s apotheosis.
I wear the Ars armor when I’m mining for the mana boost since I’m using Ars to mine. I have a separate set for combat.
Apotheosis has a method of applying prefixes to other items. There is nothing stopping anyone from getting legendary Ars armor.

Use a brush scythe from cyclic to remove grass, flowers and things of that nature. There's also a tree scythe and a harvest scythe.

Generates mana on growth ticks? Snad with cane/bamboo?
I remember on forge craft, when you first tested ars, it had lines to indicate every 100 mana, wonder why it was removed
For a better damage you can make a spell: cold snap + freez +amplify them.

Are there nether fortresses in this pack, I haven't found any yet ?
I also haven't found any, but I found a blaze spanwer in an obsidian pillar (think quark adds those), so I stopped looking for the fortress for now
