1988 HONDA CR250 ⚔️ 2021 YAMAHA YZ250 at SX WORX in Sheffield

Been going up to SX word the past few weekends to get ready for the Arenacross UK series. I will be racing a YZ250 at that, but I decided to bring my 1988 Honda CR250 to do a few laps after training for some fun! Let me know which one you think hits the fun factor more 😁✊🏻💨

Love the sound 👌 just out of interest what gears are you using on the yz125. I just started mx and went sx the other day on the yz125. Spent most of it in 2nd is that about right. Hope the recovery is going well 😊

AH HA THE 88 CR250R FIRST MODEL USING LOW BODY TANK / EXHAUST . WAS AMAZED HOW LIGHT IT FELT BECAUSE OF THE MORE CENTRAL/LOWER CENTRE OF GRAVITY & 3RD YEAR OF THAT INCREDIBLE HPP ENGINE , SMOOTH BUT STRONGER POWER SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE REV RANGE - I LOVE THE FIT FEEL & QUALITY OF THOSE HONDAS . BACK IN THE DAY NOTHING CAME CLOSE TO A SET UP HONDA ❤ GREAT VIDEO 😄👍

Crazy how little development there have been the last 35 years for motocross, just compare snowmobiles today and 35 years ago, extremely big difference.
Or, imagine riding a motocross bike 35 years from BEFORE 1988! That would be waaay slower than a 88 model.

Got it. 1.1 seconds, right, but really short lap time here in SX.
What about motocross track with 1:50 lap times instead of around 0:40?
A race with 15 rounds will make a 30 second difference?
So, thats a lot, right?

Spend more time on the CR and a few tweaks and yu will find it just as fast as the late model stuff.. two stokes haven't improved that much in 30 odd years.. 😂😂
