please help. prius 2012. random sporadic irreproducible engine overheating. typically, just a short flash of red T warning, accompanied with a splash of coolant out of the overflow tank. splash may be so big that coolant ends up on pass side doors. changed pump, thermostat, temperature sensor. appeared at the time to solve problem, then problem comes again. it was always sporadic. all this happened with NO check engine light and code. some ppl blame on clogged egr valve. took apart the intake manifold, yes, there was some dirt, but not terrible. finally, i got an innova 3130lat and autel mk808bt pro and checked the codes. now i have codes. one of them is P261C "pump B" thing. set autel to watch the temperature and the pump revolutions. short test drive. T reached 100 degC and the pump never moved. target speed was always 0 rpm. I am aware about rotor jammed, and no, my rotor was new when i installed it 4 months ago. the problem seems that the computer does not care that temperature is 100 and does not set target speed.................. what do i need: a new ecu? or reset -- reprogram the computer?
you should check your radiator Fan Motor, kindly tell me did you installed Genuine pump Before? some times that problem starts with (air in Inverter pump) you should bleed the air also
@@fahadejaz Fan motor is essential in traffic jam, and is irrelevant at 75 mph on highway. i had no overheating on hw at mid hot day, and then overheating all the time at night. the pump was NOT toyota, but was aisin. new. then, so many ppl note that the pump never dies, it is the plastic case of the rotor. you only need to change the rotor. and when i removed the original one, the rotor was fine. i still have it. therefore, the problem was never in the pump itself. and now it seems that the computer does not tell the pump to operate. this is what i got from my brand new autel: target speed 0 rpm. actual speed 0 rpm. temperature: 100 degC.
Sir in my opinion the problem is with the pump, but first of all you should check your pump pipes for air bleed, I dealt with my Prius in my region, all i dealt was the same and common problem and it was the Inverter pUmp, i replaced it with a genuine toyota part.
@@fahadejaz my problem is with the engine pump. not the inverter. yes, i did air bleed on the engine coolant. applied deep vacuum to colapse all big pipes and remove air bbubbles.
If you checked the air then i would advise you again if you have access to Branded parts of Toyota (i mean little use parts) you can replace it with genuine toyota part and check again sir.

HE SPRAYED WATER INTO THE CONNECTORS
THAT WILL QUICKLY CORRODE AND CAUSE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS
Appreciate your concerns but water cannot insert in connectors, all are water resistant Sir
