  • This guided Yoga Nidra is intended for relaxation and as a gentle focusing exercise. It consists of a progressive relaxation technique and then following your attention 61 distinct points throughout the body. The 61-Points exercise is an excellent practice for entering Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) - a state where you are in deep sleep, yet are awake. It may also enhance Lucid Dreaming - a state in which you are dreaming but are aware you are dreeaming. Yoga Nidra is deeply relaxing, and is used by yogis to deal with samskaras (the deep impressions that drive karma) in their latent form.

    The spiritual path is extremely long and arduous. This is best exemplified by the cat in the photo (Swami Kittyananda). The feline master is quoted as saying: “It took over 10 years of intense sadhana before I could enter into deep samadhi and maintain the posture shown in this photograph. It ain’t easy. Meow Shanti.”

    Cats are gurus, truly. When they are awake they are fully in the moment, bright eyed and vigilant. When are rest, they fully relax. No intruding thoughts pulling and pushing them...

      This Nidra was designed to help people deeply relax and to fall into a deep, peaceful sleep. Particularly good for those who battle with insomnia. So the fact that you are so relaxed that you fall asleep before it's over is wonderful. It is working for you. What is more important to investigate and consider is this tendency to berate yourself and give yourself a hard time over your perceived failures. Once you deal with that culprit you can simply relax and allow whatever occurs to be. No judgements, no control - simply relax. 😃💜😎💚

      I havent been updating but i use this to wind down still some nights. I intend to use it more often to hopefully retrain my nervous system.
      Not just at night but to reset during the day aswell.
      I am not quite sure if im stressed because im overworking myself, or overworking myself because i am in a stressful state.
      There is not really an outside pressure involved, at least not directly currently, so I suspect the latter. Theres probably a reason why I'm the way i am now but I do not wish to continue like this and it shouldn't be necessary. Hopefully the ego isn't too hard to get on board and the training works out. 😁👍
      Sharing this in case someone relates and perhaps could use the validation that comes from hearing about someone similar existing.

    My eyes get super dry really fast every time. It is super annoying to have my eyeballs scraping against the lids. Also my face and eyeballs tense up and i can't seem to get them to relax.
