This man deserves a Nobel peace prize. It took me 15 minutes to replace the last 2 plugs after taking at least 90 minutes to miraculously replace the first two due to socket staying stuck to spark plug. If you're using more than 1 extension. Tape them together also.

If your socket is already stuck, maybe you could get a stiff wire such as a clothes hanger and with pliers make a small hook that fits inside the square opening and pull out the socket.

I think the tape could have been used to put on the extension end , then jammed in the socket at bottom of spark plug hole so it would retrieve the socket. Maybe best answer is to combine both techniques. Thanks for your good suggestion for avoiding the dropped socket.
This doesn't tell you how to get the socket out when it's stuck. It only tells you what to do in advance to having the problem. This vid doesn't address the title of the video.

This was exactly what happened to me except I was using brand new Pittsburgh socket and extension from Harbor Freight. Helped me in a pinch.

I'm dealing with that right now and my brain kept saying SUPER GLUE... but I'll try tape first
I have good luck by justing putting a side load on the extension as I pull the extension out.

Tape works or locking extension that's long enough 3/8 drive.
Telescopic magnet works too.

Aw dude try a v6 Chevy s10… my socket is stuck down there sideways… can’t get it from top or bottom that easy… fml🤦♂️

You could try just loosening it off and redoing it, that’s what worked for me
It does. You back the spark plug back out, tape the tool up good, reset the spark plug, and you're home free.
