    This really does work. I broken the one down in the well and sprayed some PB blaster and took a screwdriver pushed in down in the boot and it broke the seal and slide right out. Thank you for the video

      @@robbieraychannel I also had coolant down in some of the plug wells so I took a shop vacuum and a drinking straw and vacuumed the coolant out

    It works 👍😊. Put WD40 in the boot. Got a steel welding rod first but it kept bending. Went to a thicker aluminum rod and kept prodding around the spark plug. Got a long bent nose pliers and it came out! This was cylinder #4 against the fire wall. I felt so much pressure lifted off of me. Thank you! For the tip. 2 days I was stuck on this. 👍

    Works great!! Thank you. I used a 90° pick after the wd40 and popped right off

    I use a similar method I bend a coat hanger with a t handle at the top and a j hook on the other end add a dab of dielectric grease and slide it down nexr to the boot and turn the hook under the boot and pull it up

    Swapped out all of the coils and plugs on my '99 Expedition 5.4 today except for cylinder #4. I encountered the same issue where the boot got stuck. Its a really tight spot with a bunch of heater hoses and wire looms in the way. Tried using standard size needle nose as well as some long needle nose with no luck. I will have to try this trick to see if I can get it out.

    That truck you must never get rid of especially for the 5.4 3 Valve F-150 that the Car Wizard forbids us to buy! The 4.6 is the way to go!

    Its not the rubber boot that gets stuck. It is the corroded metal sleeve that wraps around the ceramic ridges of the plug.

    What happens to the rest of the liquid in the cavity? do you try to sop it up somehow?

    • @robbieraychannel
      @robbieraychannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It won't hurt anything if you use WD-40. Oil is not conductive and also won't damage the rubber boot.

    yep, too late for me, mine had ripped and left some on there. another channel said to use an aluminum pipe that fits over the top of the plug slide it down and pull it out and the rubber should come with it since it's too late for me to try your method. or i don;t know i might have to look around for something somewhere. thanks anyway.

    what if it rips? can you share video?

    • @robbieraychannel
      @robbieraychannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry don't have an actual video on that, But it should still work as long as you get some coat hanger wire between the spark plug and the rubber boot so that you can spray some wd40 in there. If it doesn't work try bending a small hook shape on the end, push it between, turn 90 degrees then pull it out

    Can i use brake cleaner ?

    • @robbieraychannel
      @robbieraychannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sandy, Brake cleaner probably won't help because it's not slippery, It's dry. You need something slippery or oily. You can clean up any oily residue with brake clean after you remove the boot if you like. Rob....

      @@robbieraychannel What else I can use as I couldnt find Wd40

    • @robbieraychannel
      @robbieraychannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sandymanuel9029 You can use any kind of oil that you have, But it will be easier if it's in a spray can with a straw tip. If not, you might need to find a way to get some oil down in there. maybe an old tea spoon, Or put a drinking straw into some oil, hold your finger on the top of the straw, lift it out then it should hold it long enough to go over to the spark plug boot and drop it in.

      @@robbieraychannel I finally found wd 40 and used it. It worked amazingly and finally i could remove the wire.
      After changing the spark plug and wire i noticed burning smell then checked the boot and it saw some fumes in the sparkplug cylinder which I changed , after some time the fumes got vanished. I want to know is this ok or will that smell go off after 2-3 days
