Best Paladin guide I've found , great video , I'm planning on playing Paladin as my main and this pretty much answered all my questions in terms of building him. All I need now is a stagger, counter, destruction guide in general and with some examples to use it on the more difficult content. I read in an other comment that a guide like that is coming out, so looking forward to it.
This guide really is truly amazing. I think it's great that you'd say "This is the worst thing you can do, but if you're going to do it, use these skills.... and be wrong"
A bit of info for those who still want to do DPS paladin in the future. I'm a 1545 DPS paladin main myself in Korea. Currently in Korea, the DPS paladin does compare with other DPS classes with the same gear level. Actually, while not the top tier, he is in the 'higher than average' compared to other classes. This is mostly due to the Artifact Nightmare set. One of the weaknesses of DPS paladin was it's massive mana consumption, and this has been greatly negated thanks to the Nightmare set. Currently the DPS paladin runs as an alternative to Warlord(Gunlancer). Less tanky but more mobile and more DPS(Max Agility build), or Berserker depending on the build (Max Crit build) Also note that you'll build a kind of a bad reputation, but as a max level PvP player, I really find no problem crushing anyone who starts insults me directly at my face. THAT SAID. The class still quite screams dysfunctional in many ways. 1. Identity Crisis: You need the Judgement Identity on to pump out you're damage, but filling it is one hell of a hassle, and most of the time you're wasting you're gauge while running through gimmicks 2. Infernally long cooldowns and Extremely Mana hungry all the time.

@@Sith90lord Sorry to be one of those 'Don't do it' guys too. The problem in number 2 is bigger than you think. I've once tried it out on T1/T2 content and ended up pumping damage for 15 seconds and then had a frustrating 60~80 seconds of 'not enough mana'/'Currently in Cooldown' experience. While I would love to find a new way to even make it viable in T1/T2, I don't think I've ever heard anyone succeed doing it in the KR server. Too bad the game doesn't have any mana potions or anything. So while I encourage experimentation, I also recommend having a good back-up plan as well. Or the cheaper option is to just see what happens after the March rework, cuz content update that doesn't involve story tends to port to other regions a lot earlier.
So I stumbled into playing a paladin as my first class this week in the NA launch, and I think I want to make it my main. I actually fell in love with it. Thanks for the excellent video!

Based on what they do, it looks like Specialist engraving is now called Expert Engraving (shield and healing +6/14/24% with additional bonuses at -50% health)
I started my first alt and never regretted choosing Pala! Felt in love with his gameplay and first time doing a Argos run i survived on mediocre blue gear, whereas with my mage main i had more difficluties with full Argos set. I have to say I really enjoyed your video and i think i'll put more effort in playing my Pala. I'll try out the skillsheet u suggested cuz when u solo'd Valtan HM . thank you! I don't think I will in the near future. I have a lot of exp on Paladin and feel very confident in the information provided in this video. For other classes that is not the case. The only other class where I got a fraction of this exp would be Gunlance
@@The3faced If you want to be a tank (or at least the closest thing to a tank that the game offers) choose gunlance and if you want to be support choose paladin. Both are classes highly demanded by parties.

I just recently made my Pally and (although low-level: 15 currently) i'm already enjoying it... My main is the Sorc and my secondary is the Bard, so if you have those videos up, i'll definitely be checking those out.
I will start a character on each of base classes (warrior, gunner, mage etc) and I had thought about making a berserker but paladin looks so much fun I want to start as it. I already have some experience as bard so I think I know what to expect. Not sure what I will main as... sorc artillerist or paladin. Ty for the guide. Also nice ending for the video haha xD

As for me, it would be Paladin as my main. My main alt's would be both the sorceress, and the Sharpshooter. Everything else I would try over time to learn their playstyle in order to learn how to counter them in PVP.

To all paladin players: do you like the class? I'm a bit uncertain about it. Also to the content creator: This is an amazing presentation, subbed to your channel.
I love playing Paladin, he has great AoE damage for solo pve content (like chaos and leveling), great defence (use way less healing potions) and is very impactful for a premade party of dps'. Its fun when my friends learn what my support skills do and play around my cooldowns to maximize their protection and damage output. Those two builds (solo dps / support party) feel very different and give me the variety i need while playing Paladin to not make it boring.
I wish someone would make a similar big guide like this for gunlancer, only ones ive found at 10-15min build guides, good guide tho. leaning towards running paladin as main alt

I'm a bit late, but mentioning Explosive Master (or whatever the translation might be in West) would probably be a good idea since the value of extra bombs in the later legion raids could be pretty big. Very informative video though!

Have you played around with Lightning Fury Ever? It's really good in Tier 1 when using a Yellow Damage build (I do 29-35% of group damage, while still putting out several buffs). You get 4-5 procs per minute and they hit as hard/harder than a holy explosion. The trick is to have multiple overlapping abilities that all hit multiple times per second, in order to get the Lightning Fury Procs. Blue and Purple Lightning Fury Books cost 1-2g on my server. Yellow Damage Build: Holy Land [Quick Prep, Grace] (For Lightning Fury Procs) Godsent Law [Shield, Wide Area, Greedy Angel DPS for TIer 1 ] (Lots of Lightning Fury Chances. Wide Area makes sure the Shield hits myself and my team when on opposite sides of a boss) Execution of Justice [Bulwark, Light Explosion](I run light explosion for push resist so I can stand in Boss AoE and make sure Lightning Fury hits them] Holy Explosion[Prepared Explosion] - Lots of Lightning Fury Proc chances. I run Sturdy Armor/Explosion Enhancement because I'm lazy. Heavenly Blessing [Buff/DPS, nuff said] Holy Protection [Same reasons as your video] Charge [utility] Executor's Sword[Utility] Late game this build is probably Garbage, but at Tier 1 it's super affordable as nobody competes for Lightning Fury Engravings. At Gear Score 460 I have Heavy Armor 15, Lightning Fury 15, and Ether Predator 15 (I'm replacing Predator with Holy Aura very soon) Thing I've noticed about this build is that I'll frequently intentionally stand in Boss AoE, rather than with my team. I can 100% soak their damage with a shield + Pushback resistance from Execution of Justice (and previously Wrath of God). Then, after Soaking their AoE, there's now a 1 in 4 chance I will be the target of the boss and my team can just keep back attacking it, wasting no time from movement, giving them an effective DPS. If I can keep my teammates from having to reposition it can be a bigger DPS increase than giving them something like a 10% attack power boost. And since my damage is on longer cooldowns, sometimes I don't even care if I get knocked around because all my DPS cooldowns are out and I'd just be auto attacking anyways.
2:14 Even if this spell isn't taken that much, let's do it good. The last talent for spin slash isn't the best for damages. - The chain attack add a last attack doing 80% damages of a regular spin -> As you have 2 spins, this talent add 80% damages over 200% damages = 280% -> +40% Damages - The fantom sword add a 60% attack on each attach -> +60% damages

I'm a gunlancer main and i thought it'd be cool to have a paladin alt and this seems like im going to have fun i dont wanna be a meeeh paladin but i wanna ay least have a competent paladin. Your video was very informative and actually gave the info i needed to learn. Great video

As for me, it would be Paladin as my main. My main alt's would be both the sorceress, and the Sharpshooter. Everything else I would try over time to learn their playstyle in order to learn how to counter them in PVP.

To all paladin players: do you like the class? I'm a bit uncertain about it. Also to the content creator: This is an amazing presentation, subbed to your channel.
I love playing Paladin, he has great AoE damage for solo pve content (like chaos and leveling), great defence (use way less healing potions) and is very impactful for a premade party of dps'. Its fun when my friends learn what my support skills do and play around my cooldowns to maximize their protection and damage output. Those two builds (solo dps / support party) feel very different and give me the variety i need while playing Paladin to not make it boring.
I wish someone would make a similar big guide like this for gunlancer, only ones ive found at 10-15min build guides, good guide tho. leaning towards running paladin as main alt

I'm a bit late, but mentioning Explosive Master (or whatever the translation might be in West) would probably be a good idea since the value of extra bombs in the later legion raids could be pretty big.

Have you played around with Lightning Fury Ever? It's really good in Tier 1 when using a Yellow Damage build (I do 29-35% of group damage, while still putting out several buffs). You get 4-5 procs per minute and they hit as hard/harder than a holy explosion. The trick is to have multiple overlapping abilities that all hit multiple times per second, in order to get the Lightning Fury Procs. Blue and Purple Lightning Fury Books cost 1-2g on my server.
Yellow Damage Build:
Holy Land [Quick Prep, Grace] (For Lightning Fury Procs)
Godsent Law [Shield, Wide Area, Greedy Angel DPS for TIer 1 ] (Lots of Lightning Fury Chances. Wide Area makes sure the Shield hits myself and my team when on opposite sides of a boss)
Execution of Justice [Bulwark, Light Explosion](I run light explosion for push resist so I can stand in Boss AoE and make sure Lightning Fury hits them]
Holy Explosion[Prepared Explosion] - Lots of Lightning Fury Proc chances. I run Sturdy Armor/Explosion Enhancement because I'm lazy.
Heavenly Blessing [Buff/DPS, nuff said]
Holy Protection [Same reasons as your video]
Charge [utility]
Executor's Sword[Utility]
Late game this build is probably Garbage, but at Tier 1 it's super affordable as nobody competes for Lightning Fury Engravings. At Gear Score 460 I have Heavy Armor 15, Lightning Fury 15, and Ether Predator 15 (I'm replacing Predator with Holy Aura very soon)
Thing I've noticed about this build is that I'll frequently intentionally stand in Boss AoE, rather than with my team. I can 100% soak their damage with a shield + Pushback resistance from Execution of Justice (and previously Wrath of God). Then, after Soaking their AoE, there's now a 1 in 4 chance I will be the target of the boss and my team can just keep back attacking it, wasting no time from movement, giving them an effective DPS. If I can keep my teammates from having to reposition it can be a bigger DPS increase than giving them something like a 10% attack power boost. And since my damage is on longer cooldowns, sometimes I don't even care if I get knocked around because all my DPS cooldowns are out and I'd just be auto attacking anyways.
2:14 Even if this spell isn't taken that much, let's do it good.
The last talent for spin slash isn't the best for damages.
- The chain attack add a last attack doing 80% damages of a regular spin -> As you have 2 spins, this talent add 80% damages over 200% damages = 280% -> +40% Damages
- The fantom sword add a 60% attack on each attach -> +60% damages
