    UPDATE: As some of you have commented, you don't need to remove the caliper, you can skip that step

    Great video. I'm about to do the same job for the first time. Why did you use a jack stand under the center of the bike? Were you not confident the two stands alone would be secure enough?

    • @SamOnABikeSweden
      @SamOnABikeSweden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I had the jack stand just to be safe. But there is no need for that to be honest. Good luck with the wheel removal, you will make it!

    Hey, great video, I'm in the UK and am struggling to find a front paddock stand, any ideas where I could get one/which one are you using? Cheers

      Hey! Thanks for watching. About the paddock stand, try this one www.xlmoto.co.uk/product/proworks-2-in-1-paddock-stand_pid-PM-0056179, should do the trick.

    I did mine today and never had to take off the brake caliper.

      Ok that was interesting, thanks for the info, then you can probably skip that part and save some time!

    How long did it actually take you to get the axle threads lined up on the install part? Its not as easy as it looks. If the alignment is off by a millimeter, the threads won't line up, and you won't be able to tighten it.

    • @SamOnABikeSweden
      @SamOnABikeSweden  ปีที่แล้ว

      @spartanx169x 169of300 It was as easy as I show in the video, had no problems at all with the alignment. You will feel if the alignment is of or not. You should not force anything, you feel if the threads line up, it should go smootly. Use something under the front tire, as i did, blocks of wood, great if you need to wiggel the tire a bit to "be in the correct line..."

      I just did this on my 2015 and you're spot on. I had a hell of a time getting the axle threads to bite and spent at least an hour adjusting the angle until it finally bit. The threads weren't damaged or anything because without the wheel and spacers doing a test fit it started threading immediately, but with the wheel and hardware on it took a good while to finally get it.

      @@SamOnABikeSweden Wondering why you did not inspect, grease and clean the caliper whyle you was there.

    • @SamOnABikeSweden
      @SamOnABikeSweden  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did inspect the caliper (everything doesn't show in the video you know) And the video was about the front wheel removal nothing else.

      @SamOnABikeSweden All clear... i know those upload, yt is full of them. You called the axel a "nut", from that moment i knew what to expect... nobody lift the frontwheel that high, when it just spins free, you are fine. And you don't use a torque wrench to loosen bolts or nuts.

    • @SamOnABikeSweden
      @SamOnABikeSweden  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@corneilcorneil Let's get a few things straight here: In the video I do NOT use a torque wrench to loosen the bolts, maybe you should look at the video a little more closely before commenting? Just a suggestion... Another thing, I'm Swedish and English isn't my native language so I'm terribly sorry that I said "nut" about the axel. But I'm sure you will post a video where you do everything correctly, it would be nice if you did it in a language other than English so we can see how correct your video will be...

    Can you provide brand/model or link to the lift you’re using?

    • @SamOnABikeSweden
      @SamOnABikeSweden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Busted Channel Im using two cheap 2 in 1 paddock stands (2in1=A stand that can lift the backwheel or the frontwheel). My paddock stands are bought at Biltema in Sweden and is this model: www.biltema.se/bil---mc/mc/verkstadsutrustning/depastod/depastod-2000044458
      Im shure you will find some similar on Amazon or Ebay. And remember to always use two stands, one for the back wheel and one for the front wheel!
