It has inspired me to start making planes again.
I have the Makita bandsaw and have bought the Veritas adjusters. Just for good measure I bought a blade and adjuster kit too. So the first plane is easier.

Every time I watch these videos I think back to all the times I have simply restored an antique hand plane. I know the time, and patience, involved in taking something already designed and machined for me and simply making it true and clean is immense. I can't imagine the time that goes into your work. If you were to put an estimate on it; how many hours do you spend on the design and making of one of your planes?

    • @YoungJe

I enjoyed watching your build. One concern I've had is the bandsaw blade guide is so high above where it's cutting. Not the first video I've see with, in my opinion, too much blade exposed to cut right through those gloves and fingers of your's.

After heat treating your blades, do you temper them back? If you do - at what temp, and for how long? Or do you just bring the cutting edge to a color phase? Your pieces bring peace to my heart - a true craftsman marching on! Thanks for sharing!

I made a hand plane using one of your past videos as inspiration. In those videos you didn't use fasteners to secure the wood into the base. Did you experience separation or did the word part's come loose on previous planes, thus causing the need to use fasteners? I love your work and plan on making more planes.
