When I tried to rotoscope a Lightsaber in Davinci Resolve (NOT from this tutorial), I could never get the Lightsaber to stay in the footage when I returned to the editor or the export tab.

Possibly your nodes were not hooked up completely? I have noticed DaVinci resolve is still very buggy, so that could also be it. I would avoid Resolve for any professional work at the moment.

Another way you can do this is with using trackers
But this probaly wont work on fast moving lightsabers due to your markers being blury

Is there any reason why in my program (Resolve 18 Studio) after I move a few frames to adjust the mask I have to then click back to the original median, then the polygon node again in order to continue adjusting the mask every few frames? It's not as quick and easy as you were doing it here.

You'd just use a rotoscope mask to block the saber blade where another person or object obstructs it.

When my mask is selected the arrowkeys only nudge the mask instead of switching frames. is there a way to move through frames without always deselecting the mask or manually clicking through them?
