I’m so happy you covered this game. The balancing is so good. Nox (a free character you get early on) still hasn’t fallen off in meta. Even some B Ranks are sometimes needed in endgame. This is different from S Ranks with limited stats in Arknights. The vast majority of S Ranks will be useful and B Ranks will be useable despite having less stats and multipliers. One of the endgame teams, Bleed, uses a B Rank sinner just to apply more bleeds on enemies. That’s how a kit can change their usefulness. The quality of life has gone to an insane level with instant raids after doing a level once, and not having to do monthly bosses weekly to get their rewards (attempts even count towards rewards). The only problem was early advertising (they better fire those bastards) and how 3D games has been reigning recently. This is the only gacha that makes staying feel rewarding. @@StixPlayx I noticed you were using Serpent in some stages. My advice is to build Labyrinth instead (if you haven’t already). All those puns and jokes about "your Coq" really made the video that much more enjoyable. I had a good laugh. However, not the kind of game for me. I have a hard time finding a 2nd-3rd gacha that pleases me, been trying a few, but nothing stuck to me. My current main gacha is the idlegame Eversoul, a generous gacha idlegame, but not much gameplay. Just fun if you enjoy waifus and seeing numbers go up each day/week/month as the limit is sky high. You could take a look at it in one of your videos.
Lmao thank you! I just couldn’t help myself. She was one of my most used units and I kept referring to her as “Coq.” I do really enjoy Eversoul as well! I was one of the OG sponsored CCs for it at release day!
Day 1 player, and still playing. The gameplay is... okay. But I'm hooked because of the story, writing, characters, art and music. The folks at Aisno really know how to channel their creativity. Excellent voice acting, in any language, helps. A bonus that it has some of the more generous gacha, I'm a low spender (just get the battle pass) and have been able to collect every unit. But oh man... those cringe ads when the game first came out... they must have drove away more potential players than they brought in. I probably would have passed on the game if I had seen one of those ads first. I hope whoever approved those ads was fired.
Base mgmt was a friggin hassle for me in Arknights (which is exacerbated by the fact that it's not entierly optional: M3'ing the operators requiring it) so I for one, do NOT miss the extended utility of base. The extreme ease of grinding mats with just a few taps is why I am playing PtN but no longer playing Arknights.
One funny but cool thing is that even the B-rank sinners r insanely viable & cracked. For example: Labyrinth: B-Rank sinner that is insanely broken for core breaks, which is far better for serpent in terms of what she needs to do EMP: A B-rank ranged sinner that has like one of the longest ranges out of any sinner, also a broken ability But at the end of the day, there's no PVP, no need for meta teams, sooo use whichever waifus u want
Nice to see PtN getting the recognition it deserves... ❤ Unfortunately, I don't play it anymore. Still, a good game nonetheless... Thx for the nostalgia, Stix
I started playing it two months ago and it's almost my most played gacha game, even though tower defense isn't a genre i like very much. It's one of the few gacha games that i really enjoy and pay attention to the main story (the events are amazing too) and i absolutely love the character design and ost. The amount of QoL in this game is insane too, players of others games would kill to have them.
I played since Oct 2022, I think about two weeks after the global release ... ever since, I tried to stop playing it, but I couldn't. Those crazy mommies need to be ARRESTED!
The terrible advertising is laughably bad because of how outsourced it was. It's clear from how poorly done the 2D animation of Ariel in the example advert that the devs had no part in it. The actual 2D Liveart in the game has been gorgeously well done from the start with the original roster of sinners. The devs probably had no choice but to resort to outsourcing since they were already tight on budget. Fun fact: the beta version called "Project Dark" had a top-down exploration system similar to Hoyo's games. However, it was way too time-consuming and expensive for the devs to go through with, and thus it was scrapped. They also were going for a more "sexual" tone with the sinners. They had more risque outfits and poses in their splash arts. It was definitely a good idea to replace the sexy factor with more dynamic characterization, while still retaining some of that appeal in the more "forward" sinners. Luckily for me my first exposure to the game was with one of the less lewd ads. It still teased the interrogation feature like the one in the video, but leaned more into the grimdark aspect of the actual game content. Luckily, the devs are now relying more on the trailers for their main story and limited events, which are cinematic as hell. They even go so far as to make entire songs just for the trailers for their story chapters(check out Black Halo & Loving La Vie En Rose). As basically a day 1 player on global version(joined in about 3 days after launch on 28th October 2022), I can guarantee that you'll have a good time for the rest the game has to offer.
If you do find this comment, I also would like to enlighten you about the guild event: Tide of Ashes. ToA(for short) is never available during the runtime of limited events or story releases, as it actually is considered as an event in itself. So, it's unlocked when there's a 3 week long wait for the next event. The mode features a guild cooperative, in it you work together to take down smaller enemies and get to the final boss that will accumulate rewards with every defeat. It used to be more complicated with every tile having a battle, but got simplified to only include the minions, the boxes of rewards, and the big boss itself. It's very fun but does require an avtive guild as new players will have to be supported by others to do good in the ToA. Every ToA has a unique boss that has different abilities that make it hard to defeat in one go. This incentivises you to build up teams of sinners that work with each other while stayin in the confines of the boss' abilities. The game has also gladly added a guide feature that suggests specific teams of sinners that could work well. Not to worry as you can borrow your friends' and guild members' assist sinners. There's even a beginner friendly team in the guide that uses a very meta limited sinner that some of your guild members should have. Besides that though, that's really all there is to guilds here. Though newly created guilds can slowly upgrade themselves, there's nothing else with it after it fully upgrades. Though I do believe that the ToA is more than enough to incentivise joining guilds, you do still have to focus on other game content to not face thedry spell.
9:10. Naw, some B sinners are the most powerful in game. If you never used Labyrinthe and Che, you're gonna struggle later on. Joan and Kelvin have their niche in late game. EMP, Macchiato and Demolia are pretty useful in early game but fall off. Pepper is part of the very Meta bleed team. The Flora can be part of the Meta attack speed team. Lisa can be used early on wihtout any investment early on.
I think you can't properly judge the difficulty until you get to Broken Frontline Dark Zone. That's where you need multiple distinct, specialized teams to hit the max points every week. In the most recent season, they totally changed how Dark Zone works because it was essentially too hard for a lot of casual players.
14:00 I know you're a busy content creator, but if you can, get the story to the end of chapter 12. Rain burst and Flora Unfurl is the continuation of the story from Chapter 12. The events are self contained, so you should not have too much difficulty understand it, but you're gonna wonder why so many sinners are grieving our chief.
@@StixPlayxbuild Labyrinth. I am imploring you my friendly TH-camr. Also remember to not over-cap on Chief energy when using her (because she will break a lot and if you break more than necessary it will waste the charge).

I wish I liked tower defense games, I feel I would really enjoy PtN if I did. The only real complaint I have about the game is the femc is allowed to have gay romances but the male mc isn't.
What I im going to say is going to ruffle a lot of feathers but, my only gripe about this game is the lack of playable male characters and the horrible EN voice acting. I know a lot of people like this game because of it's story, but I've read better stories with the same premise and the events aren't really helping my engagement either. This is all I will say because the other thing that grinds my gear about this game is it's toxic community when it comes to valid criticism. Overall, I would give this game a 4 out of 10, because even though some parts of the games story had me wanting to leave the game again, Zoya chapter and Donald chapter have me wanting to stay. I wish they did more with the available male characters we get in the gacha pull like Fate Grand Order, Punishing Gray Raven, Honkai Star Rail, Genshin Impact, Arknights, and many other games that have male playable characters in them, but that's fighting a losing battle with this games community and devs. The art is amazing along with the sound track, but the blatant appeal for one specific group of people is what makes me and others not want to continue playing the game. Again, this is mine and probably many others opinion, to each their own.

PtN they feel like their own characters with their own motives and Chief works to build that trust and become an integral part of their lives.
I rate it 8/10. One of my favorite games just under Arknights and snowbreak. You should play epic 7 next!
I'm slowly working through E7! haha

Character designs and style in PtN are my favourite among all gacha games, and probably in top 10 of all games I've played in general.
But I’ll definitely be adding it to the list. Every Gacha game will be!
Yup. Pretty much the same reasons I think it's good. The ads I saw were atrocious - typical "scam game" vibes. Glad they're no longer present.
@@khandimahn9687 I am glad i saw Stix' video before these strange adds, otherwise i probably whould have evade it.
For example:
Labyrinth: B-Rank sinner that is insanely broken for core breaks, which is far better for serpent in terms of what she needs to do
EMP: A B-rank ranged sinner that has like one of the longest ranges out of any sinner, also a broken ability
But at the end of the day, there's no PVP, no need for meta teams, sooo use whichever waifus u want
Great review!
Thank you! Appreciate that ryu!
I had to try it after falling in love with raven and oak casket, if you like gothic girls, this is the game for you
Nice to see PtN getting the recognition it deserves... ❤ Unfortunately, I don't play it anymore. Still, a good game nonetheless... Thx for the nostalgia, Stix
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!! :D
The new rating system is much better and detailed
Thank you! Glad to hear that!
Oh trust me, I understand. ;)
Wow, a gacha ive never heard of! nice vid, you've earned my sub :)
Thanks, hansholst!
Love this game. Easy 9.5/10 and currently my favorite and main game. Unfortunately whoever was responsible for marketing/ads f'ed up really badly..
Lisa can be used early on wihtout any investment early on.
haha it was just a joke. :P
Sadly PTN is not for me, but great review as always!!!
Path of we are f**D LOL GOT ME ROLLING
That's how I felt.
I love my coquelic too, any tips on who best to pair with her?
The title of the video almost fools me hahaha 😅 *Slowly put away his machete
My favorite gotcha game, I play it religiously everyday and I run a Secret Society…
Finally PtN getting air time!
Yessss! Hopefully it didn't disappoint!
Path to Trust Issues
I think you can't properly judge the difficulty until you get to Broken Frontline Dark Zone. That's where you need multiple distinct, specialized teams to hit the max points every week. In the most recent season, they totally changed how Dark Zone works because it was essentially too hard for a lot of casual players.
Actually played it on release. But I was in my Arknights burnout days, so it didn’t last. Maybe will pick it back again one day.
You'll have to let me know what you think if you ever do!
I cleared 7 before doing this video. I'll push through more ahead of another look next year and hopefully clear 12!
@@StixPlayxbuild Labyrinth. I am imploring you my friendly TH-camr. Also remember to not over-cap on Chief energy when using her (because she will break a lot and if you break more than necessary it will waste the charge).
PTN is amazing
Agreed!!
I wish they’d add a function to reset characters so I could use those materials elsewhere😢(I want to reset my Bai yi so I can use those materials on 000)
saying that with Coque's name is just FOUL for me🤡😭🤣
What Gacha should I play next?!
Check out Final Fantasy Brave Exvius: War of the Visions. It was the first gacha I played and I didn’t even know what a gacha was back then. Have you heard of Horizon Walker?

Bleach: Brave Souls

Isn't this one of the gachas that you're always playing lol. It's crazy how few people know of this game though; their anniversary livestreams and songs (and everything else honestly) have so few views it makes me depressed
Actually no! The Gacha games I play regularly are NIKKE, Blue Archive, Arknights, Punishing Gray Raven, Wuthering Waves!
More people need to play PTN! It's such a damn good game!
Wow I didn’t know path of nowhere had English va . May check it out . I have hard time playing games that have zero va
Yeah, the entire game is fully voiced, it's phenomenal.
I wish I liked tower defense games, I feel I would really enjoy PtN if I did. The only real complaint I have about the game is the femc is allowed to have gay romances but the male mc isn't.
Wdym isnt allowed lmao
@@yejubrando272
The femc has the ability to romance at least some female units, the male MC cannot romance any of the male units.
2:35 Wait what?💀🙏
You know, I enjoy my Coquelic! I enjoy playing with Coquelic on my phone, between both my hands, every day! You don't?
@@StixPlayx 😭
Again, this is mine and probably many others opinion, to each their own.
i start this game on 19th becouse i saw anniversary is close..been gteat experience all character is been great!
Right? It's so much fun!
Thanks for covering PtN. It's currently my favorite game. I never felt depressed with PtN. The feel I have is that while the world is really messed up, the MC is a beacon light and hope. This is the only game the MC has a huge fan base.
You're welcome! It's a phenomenal game that really should be more popular!
As much as you love your Coq, looking at the gameplay, it doesn't seems you know how to play her.😅 It's fine at that difficulty, but you're gonna get slaughtered later on.
LMAO true. I'm not the best at playing with my Coq. Good games continue to get more difficult as things move along, and that's when you truly learn how to play them. I wasn't at that point yet.
you are a Sim for coquelic 😂 welcome to the club
lmao glad to be here.
My problem with PtN is their colorizing makes me very dizzy, when i tried to play it back when it first releases. shame cause i like Arknights and i thought i would like this game too
i have the same problem on this game with azur lane, i love everything except the gameplay
BOOOOO THIS GUY LETS RIOTNLADS NO REVERSE 1999 VID YET
Great game I very much doubt its a bad game
It's a fantastic game!
Only reason I stopped playing PtN was the dailies. I am sick of dailies. They serve no purpose other than draining 20 minutes from my day.
Wdym, dailies give cubes and take 5 minutes max...
Path to Nowhere is right
PtN is good, had potential, sadly the tower defenses gameplay to me not exciting as Arknights is, to simple, while i'm not a pro with strategical, but i like the challenge that Arknight gave where PtN didn't deliver it right for me ...
the art and 3D is beautiful, as gatcha game is not that bad, the gameplay is the downside to me
If the gameplay was more refined, I think it would've been one of the best games in the gacha world for sureI
This game is good, the story, the characters, everything.
My only complaint is there a lot of angry lesbians gatekeeping this game lol
LMAO wait what? That's a thing?
@@StixPlayx Sadly yes, especially in X (Twitter) lol
@@StixPlayx this game has a HUGE following of lesbians (hence the characters like Cinnabar, Deren, Shawn, Tetra, Zoya, and all the gay innuendo and ships)
What a load of crap for a click bait title😅
How is it a clickbait title? It's a video series name, with the objective of the series to try and find the "worst gacha ever."
I'd try it if it had a PC client.
Not sure why "well received" games don't make this a priority to get out.
Right? PC would help skyrocket this game!
@@StixPlayx I'd even say it would be good if you could play it from Google Play Games PC (requires Win11, that's it), that counts, but many MANY games dont even bother with that.
@@Xovian I would respectfully disagree for PtN in particular. Action games like WuWa yes, but I think mobile is just perfect for PtN. Hopefully you still give it a try.
