- Wheel Stories rides the Beartooth Scenic Byway to the Top of the World. The 68-mile highway through the Beartooth and Absaroka Mountains is regarded by many as the most beautiful road in the United States.

I actually rode over the top twice. Late in the day from Wyoming into Montana down to Red Lodge. Then the very next morning in the opposite direction. The late in the day ride with the clouds and sun setting was for me the most scenic. Thanks for watching.

I’ve had the pleasure of riding Beartooth three times. The first was when the winds were very strong which was fun but lots of work. The other two were the legs of a round trip on a beautifully quiet day like your day.

Nice! Always a treat when drivers are aware and considerate enough to pull over to let faster traffic pass. Amazing to see how different everything looks (green vs white) from when I rode through there less than 6 weeks earlier than you. I still haven't done my video from that ride, and yours has gotten me motivated.

Glad you enjoyed it. I was concerned the video was too long and potentially boring. But then I decided viewers can watch pieces and parts of the video. They can dump out if they like. And there may be some viewers who watch the entire thing. It was a wonderful ride. More to come. The trip was part of an Idaho, Montana, Wyoming loop.

Tough finding time to edit lately. Busy. I have some video stocked up though. Should keep me going into the fall. I plan to make 2 or 3 more videos from my recent trip through central Idaho, into Montana and down into Wyoming, where I shot the Beartooth Highway video. Thanks for watching.

Not sure what the story is with the pixelation. Looks good on my computer after the edit but then doesn't playback as clean from TH-cam. Could be the motion, perhaps.

I shot the video on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 between 6pm and 7pm. I was with one of the last groups of vehicles allowed on the mountain. There is construction on the highway in Wyoming and the pass is closed to traffic between 7pm and 7am.
