Oh man the ‘90s- mid ‘00s era.. I was a teen then. imo probably the best era for JDM Sport Cars. So many fantastic vehicles.. The Evo, STi, Supra, GTR, the RX-7, Integra, NSX, etc. They were quite easy to work on too.. Every one wanted the TE37s lol
I don't know about that TE37 part tho 🤣🤣 but definitely the 90s and early 00s what a time to becoming of age. If you are a gear head I have to say that ways the last age of a golden Era. P.S. always had a soft spot for regas. ✌
Please keep making these! No one else makes content like this and it can be so interesting to see the Japanese magazines that I might not buy myself! Brilliant, in depth work as always capt!
I really wish someone picked up the task of scanning and translating some of these japanese magazine articles, I was so bummed when Automodejapan quit.
The late 90's to about 2005 were my favorite times. I had tons of magazines. Unfortunately they were all destroyed when my parents basement flooded. I want to rebuild my collection but the prices on magazine collections are so expensive now.
@@nickn7939 ugh, no it doesn't. Just thinking of how many of these collections are gone forever. Or how many sit in basements, closets, attics, only to be tossed out. Out of all the magazines I had I have 1 left.
It's a good episode but I wonder if you have the clout to interview Motoharu Kurosawa. I think we would all be interested in talking to such an amazing driver
What a lovely video!!!!So much coool information about this lovely car scene. I ended up buying an Evo 6 Tommi Makinen after seeing your video about the Evo5 (when i was actually looking for an evo5 ).So in fear of it beeing abit silly suggestion...it would be awesome to see you do a proper video about the Evo6 ,,eventhough it would obviously be maybe abit to similar to the evo5 video.Or at least some more Mitsubushi related stuff ?But nevertheless...it would be super cool. Anyways..thank you for all the great videoes.Greetings from Norway , Stefan
Better than ASMR. Your usage of reference footage, the magazine, the music, the subject matter, and your voice combine to a truly relaxing video. I love this idea as a series. These old publications are such great blasts from the past.
This was fantastic! I truly appreciated this episode in particular as I've actually acquired a large number of older Japanese publications featuring Honda cars and motorcycles, and the S2000 in particular, despite the fact that I cannot read them. I've also obtained a few JDM publications similar to the one you covered here, so the details you provided about the content was very enjoyable for me. To be honest, I was just happy to receive notification that you had released a new video after some time away. As far as future content goes, I'd love to see you cover other magazines as you did this time around, along with further examination of your diecast scale model cars - it appears that you have some really interesting examples. (I've noticed that some of the 1:64 scale cars in particular that various companies are releasing these days are incredibly detailed with great proportions.) Of course this would be in addition to all of the other great content you provide that we've grown accustomed to. Maybe I should just ask that you keep sharing all that you can with us as you've been doing. I'll keep watching. Thanks as always!
Hey Capt! I don’t know if this a good or feasible idea, but I would love to watch a video where you discuss tyres. For example, the most popular tyre brands in japan for sports cars, the importance of tyre pressure for spirited driving and some tips for playing with the tyre pressure. Don’t know if anyone else would like my idea
Great info Thanks! I would like to see a comparison on the body design and specifications of sports engines in different parts of the world for example US Japan and Europe especially the 90's
They have a lot of differences compared to my country's car magazines back in the 2000s. They would either be magazines based around reviews of cars and motorbikes or magazines based around street racing culture and modified cars.
That's what's so sad about GR86. At the weight it is then it needs at least 280bhp to even compare to what we had 25 years ago. Owner can't even make it much lighter because roof, hood and fenders are already aluminum.
Correct! The yellow FD is indeed a Type RS-R which was a limited run model in 1997. Type R Bathurst and Type R Bathurst R was also a limited run model in 2001 with features such as adjustable Showa struts and a Mazdaspeed carbon interior
Sorry, cap, but the background music is a bit annoying, at least for me. You have a very pleasant voice and way to explain, so I think the music isn't needed. Anyway, keep going. Greetings.
This video makes me sad, because we might be driving those kind of cars for the last time in a few years. Because of laws against fuel powered cars and the fact that there's less and less of them remaining. We will probably never again get cars with such "personalities".

This is brilliant! Please do more. There's so many of these magazines!
The best part of my day was a notification for a new JDM Masters video🙏🏾
I want more of these. I used to buy every car magazine I could when I was a kid and miss them a lot.
Please keep making these! No one else makes content like this and it can be so interesting to see the Japanese magazines that I might not buy myself! Brilliant, in depth work as always capt!
This is an absolute blast, thank you

Finally your back 👏
The late 90's to about 2005 were my favorite times. I had tons of magazines. Unfortunately they were all destroyed when my parents basement flooded. I want to rebuild my collection but the prices on magazine collections are so expensive now.
my mom thru mine out if it makes you feel any better. I had the entire collection of project car magazine by Ricky Chu from super street.

Like JDM Back to the Future!!!!. We've come a long way but man we had it good back then.
Better than ASMR. Your usage of reference footage, the magazine, the music, the subject matter, and your voice combine to a truly relaxing video. I love this idea as a series. These old publications are such great blasts from the past.
Always enjoyed the Japanese magazines, as they go so much more in depth with its content

That is a fantastic idea. Thank you for the input
These videos don't get a lot of views but they are my favorites. Please do more!
That’s incredible series! Please continue making it.
Please do the NA roadster hyperev issue, I’d love to see it and have it explained a bit more as a series.
This is such a great part of tuning history, thank you for showcasing this
I thought this was dumb and I watched the whole video.
edit: you should change your channel name to JDM Sensei your channel is mostly educational.
Great info Thanks! I would like to see a comparison on the body design and specifications of sports engines in different parts of the world for example US Japan and Europe especially the 90's

Love the full new vs old feature. Especially including what was popular then
Can you do model kits

5:34 actually the yellow FD is the RS-R version. The Bathurst was a facelift model.

Great content Captain! Those Japanese Roadsters are timeless.
I hope that you can feature an FTO, either GP version or GPX.
This. was. amazing.
Excellent video!! Very well done.
Think this my fifth time watching. This was a fantastic idea, especially with the B-roll that is specific to the time.
GT outro music oh my
Well done, captain! More please.

I loved option magazine back in 99.
I was born in 2000, long live the golden era 🔥
first page, already impressed. and jealous of the advertising, showing all the spec and tech
Like Clarkson did for forza, they should have captain brad do introduction or explanation for Gran Turismo. Great video
Awesome episode! Very interesting.
we miss you
Can we get a full soundtrack list for this video? I recognize some from various Gran Turismo games but couldn't pinpoint all of them.
It would be nice to see on the channel about german cars and what japanese do with them in terms of styling and tuning. Make a collab with Albo 😊👍🏻
Plus, one more request....4k remastered Japanese car cm from the 60‘s to early 2000‘s.
First from the Netherlands ❤️💋
Oh my God yes
Jdm4life
3:51 gran turismo irl !!!
Fairlady Z!
I got so confused when you opened the magazine from the left, like why is he starting from the back 😂🤣
And please also do Japanese catalog reviews from the 60‘s to today.
Great video
Aoi is gorgeous!
🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 here
Can you please talk about RevSpeed magazine and it's channel?
Sorry, cap, but the background music is a bit annoying, at least for me. You have a very pleasant voice and way to explain, so I think the music isn't needed. Anyway, keep going.

Running out of money? so just regurgitate magazine content for easy views.
