  • Daikoku is a must-visit place If you like cars and you’re in Japan. A trip to Japan isn’t complete without a visit to Daikoku. It really should be considered a tourist attraction these days with the increasing number of foreigners visiting there.

Visiting as a tourist, it leaves a lasting impression. No elitism, no boastful attitudes. Nothing but respect and friendliness. For me, it'll be a rite of passage as an ex-pat to eventually bring my car there. I love the car-club culture of Japan too; I am already friends with people online who have the same car as me, and they're excited to have me join them when I eventually move to Japan. My Japanese is still at a beginner level, but we're able to communicate through our mutual appreciation of cars. It's truly awesome.
And BTW, I'm looking forward to hearing about the Kaido racers / Bosozoku guys!

def want to see Kens R32.
Would have liked to have seen more of that Yellow Toyota (was it a last gen Celica)
Def a place on the bucket list to go to, from a lad downunder, we aren’t that far away and of course have many JDMs and strong JDM ADM/NZDM following.
Love the whole scene of showing there cars without attitude and HP or brand cliques, but do enjoy that car brands park next to there own, it’s pretty cool to see and see that here too, maybe similar but different as to why, I think it highlights the cars myself even more and it’s easier to follow and look around at cars rather than eyes going to, ah see that then see that and you miss so much doing that. So pretty cool.
Kens a cool dude, I sorta lament the young maybe moving moving and more to European brands and it will probably make 90s JDMs even more special over time, I understand it, but maybe they will miss out on a very cool and unique era that will never come again, the car world is going into a period unlike any other and they won’t have the opportunity that some of us that lived the 90s/2000s scene can still enjoy now! I don’t think people have yet grasped this esp young enthusiasts, respect to those with the vision who have.
Love the channel and seeing these vids, appreciate it 🤘🤙

As for the part about 'Americans work on their cars more because they have the space', this is 100% accurate in my case, I want to work on my car but there is no driveway or personal parking or garage or anything, I would have to rent a space to be able to do that. Everyone I know in the states is doing something to their car/motorcycle almost every weekend, all of them have a huge garage and driveway..

When it comes to the wide ranging diversity of enthusiast cars in Japan, I'm reminded of the age old question: "What came first, the chicken or the egg?". Obviously this has nothing to do with chickens or eggs, but let me ask these two questions:
Do the large number of prestigious automotive aftermarket companies and tuner shops in Japan exist because of the sheer volume of Japanese car enthusiasts that support them in their business?
Or does the sheer volume of Japanese car enthusiasts exist because of the large number of prestigious automotive aftermarket companies and tuner shops that enable them with their visions?
Either way, I suppose it makes little difference as in this case it appears to be a win/win/win for the manufacturers , the tuners and the car enthusiasts alike. Perhaps tracing the very roots of how this all came about to begin with, before it was fully ingrained into the culture of the Japanese car enthusiast would make for a good documentary video?

That is a very interesting question and something that I have personally been trying to find the real truth by talking to various old timers. It’s very likely that both situations progress at the same time. Having a lot to do with automotive makers expanding and trying different models to suit the burgeoning 1980s bubble economy growth era market, And more interest in Motorsport during that time

Greetings from Germany! You don't see many Alpina or Brabus branded cars around here, although I live in a medium-sized city (about 250,000 people), so I don't know what the situation is like in larger cities or generally wealthier areas. The only Alpina I saw recently was something silly like an Alpina XD3. What you see increasingly is the BMW M lineup (M2 and M4 mainly) and Mercedes AMG models. Besides that, some areas of Germany tend to be more heavily populated by cars from a certain brand due to local affinity, such as Mercedes and Porsche being much more common in and around Stuttgart.
The fact that Japanese car enthusiasts go about their business in such an orderly fashion and are always humble about their cars is what fascinates me from afar. The typical image of a car enthusiast in Germany is a "bro" who brags about his cars performance and the money he spent on it, drives irresponsibly and is generally annoying (and often much less knowledgeable about cars in general than he'd like to think).
