Ever since I started learning Chess, the Italian Game was strangely fascinating for me. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but somehow, the silent, elegant simplicity of it really speaks to me. The natural harmony between pieces, the calm that suddenly explodes into a storm. It really is a thing of beauty.

@@itsjac0b310 Yes and no. It was the truth at the time, but obviously humor was involved with the word “skyrocketed”. But don’t you worry, I’m now 728 🤷🏼‍♂️

What's the difference between the Italian game and the Giucco-Piano? Or are they basically the same?

    • @alexlaporta6393
      @alexlaporta6393 ปีที่แล้ว +5

The giuoco piano is one (huge) variation that comes from the Italian game. The Italian game is 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 and after those moves black's most popular responses are either 3...Nf6 (which is called Italian game: two knights defense) or 3...Bc5 (Italian game: giuoco piano).

I've watched alot of your videos and the funny thing is that at my elo, around 400-500 elo none of my opponents react to my opener as you would expect so i can't apply your strategies, leaving me to improvise and lose...sad life.

Spend at least 15 minutes a day solving puzzles. You'll gain some elo pretty quickly. Good luck.

Just learn one opening as white well and keep playing it. Each time you play, look at analysis and check your blunders and those of your opponents - learn these 'tricks' - you'll then be winning most of your white games.
Then you can think about learning a couple of black openings (and when to use them).
Only play 15 minute games to give you time to think.

A beautiful lesson for the whites in the Italian party. But if black plays the Hungarian defense, i.e. puts his bishop on e7 instead of c5, then the game is absolutely equal and there is no knight attack on g5, etc.

This is great, but what if black plays knight to g4? Then wht needs to chase it away with the pawn to prevent the check with the bishop, and now the other bishop will not be able to move to g4 which is the whole idea...what am I missing? Thanks!

My opponent made some errors and allowed me to recover after a few trips but it was all great. Thanks Igor. I'll take the Italian over the London from now on. Great work. I'll also rewatch this one more.

I try to play these moves a lot. I find at my level (terrible) , almost no one plays black bishop to C5 in response to white's bishop to C4. Would like to see how to win when they do that next move as Nf6 or d6 as those are the 2 most common moves I run into. I would imagine since these aren't the lines mentioned these are "bad" but as a newb I seem to not know how to properly take advantage.

Great video! But I don't understand how it will work if black moves knight to g6. White will need to chase it away to avoid the check with the bishop, but then the white pawn will be defending g6 so the black bishop will never move there, which is the whole idea...what am I missing?

Thank You for doing this on TH-cam.
    Secondly I have a question,
Instead of retreating the bishop,Why not simply play A3 vacating A2 square in case knight attacks our bishop.
After all,We don't want our bishop to vacate that dangerous f7 diagonal.
Please Throw some light on this. If not possible here, Please do cover this doubt in next video. 😊

Wow this lesson rocks. I watch all your lessons and then try them on the bots. Never ever works. I tried these strategies on 3 higher bots now and crushed them easily. Seems when you load one side up they can’t compensate for it. I can’t believe that your lesson actually worked on the bots this time. Going to unleash this on some buddies and watch them crumble. Its too easy. Punching way over my weight with this plan of attack. Plus my move accuracy % has gone up too. Not sure why Thanks.

In your last plan Bishop has not retreated to B3 and you have taught us to retreat the bishop to B3 as soon as opponent plays pawn to D6 which means that is a completely different variation where we don't retreat the bishop expecting that opponent don't pin our knight with bishop. A bit confusing this is. because In the retreated bishop(B3) variation same Knight sac is called mistake by engine now. 😢
