I love this amp. It can be made even better with different valves and speaker. It just sounds so big and fat that you would never believe from such a tiny amp. For a simple little tube amp, it's just ideal for home. Haven't found better really.
People here complaining about it being too loud. I need a good sounding quiet amp is that achievable with this or if I want crunch I need to crank a bit?

I bought the VOX AC4TV with 0,25 W (1/4) and it is muuuch louder than this 1W HT-1! So 1W here isn't the same as 1W there ... :-( Still a great amp that I won't give away !

i dont really sure for the overdrive channel but when you connected into the cabinet i dont know why but sounded awesome also the clean channel is amazing! what video editor programm do you use?
Surprisingly loud for 1W; it really shifts quite a lot of air for a little amp. If you’re in an apartment or a built up neighbourhood you’ll probably need to put it in an isolation cabinet to record it if you want to let it breathe properly. Has all the great valve rock tones you’ll ever need (from classic rock to road drill) and lots of gain on tap. The only real missing is an effects loop, although these days it’s probably more convenient to add delay type effects in the box using plug ins in any case.
I bought this amp few days back. The clean channel is quite okay. But, the dirty channel becomes very noisy when I set the gain at 12 o'clock position & beyond. Is this normal?

My guitarist who acquired that ID Core 100 Blackstar amp got rid of it and I played and the looper function didn't work correctly and I believe the reason I/We can never like another amp is because we are both running Line 6 POD Rack mounts and Mesa Boogie 50/50 Power Amps. Even the cab impulses on that ID Core 100 sucked bro. That Blackstar seriously lacked balls and it was a bad ass little amp and it didn't even sound like 100w but the one thing that I DID LIKE about that Blackstar amp was OD 3 because it is the closest you can get to a high gain sound. That 1w doesn't sound bad but what are you running in front of it that gives it that boost in Clean and Overdrive? P.S. I thought several times that you were gonna play "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent.

Not in the traditional meaning. It does have tubes but it is a hybrid. Preamp tube is boosted by operational amp ICs (even on the clean channel) and distortion is made with parallel clipping diodes instead of just 1st tube stage overdriving the next tube stage. The power stage is hybrid too: the phase inverter which drives the poweramp tubes is a MOSFET circuit. I guess "HT" stands for "Hybrid Tube". This way they could cut on the price as half the size power transformer was enough compared to a 100% tube amp (e.g.: no solid state amplifying parts in the signal path) where for this kind of high-gain sound at least one more preamp tube would be needed and also one more for the Phase Inverter.

Well it’s a valve amp so it’s going to have noise . What pick ups are in the guitar?
ESP LTD KH-602 equipped with EMG 81/60.
They are high output pick ups some so youl get a lot of noise when you crank the gain up

Would definitely recommend, along with an EQ pedal. Look at a used MXR 6 band. That will help dial in a Het sound.

It’s not ideal for that chunky dime tone but that’s not going to stop you playing pantera. This amp does deliver a lot of chug and great tones
