Join me in the Aussie winter sunshine as I install a Quad Lock Motorcycle 12v to USB Smart Adaptor on the BMW R1250 GS Adventure. In this video I tap into the bike's battery to power accessories in the Lone Rider Tail Pack. Let me know in the comments what you think of this setup, the good, the bad or the ugly? :)

Great video, the voltage limiter is pretty handy. I'd be the bloke who drains their battery and got stuck outside phone coverage

VSR sounds like a bloody good idea.. My SAE ($20 off ebay) doesn't have it (but it does have QC 3.0) but I just spliced it to my read license plate light so it turns off when ignition is turn off at the key.

Hey BBC, Loving that I stumbled across your channel. I have an SAE adapter ready for a charger but haven't put it on yet so you have inspired me to get onto it. How I stumbled here was searching for someone who has wired a 7 pin trailer plug into a GS. I have a 2011 GS and am hoping to tow a light trailer on a 16 Day journey. Do you have any tips on where to find such a (CANBUS) Guru? As I am in Oz too, even the name of a cluey Auto Electrician would be great. Looking forward to your reply. Ben

Hi Ben, I'm sorry mate, I can't really help with the canbus issues, which is why I fitted an Hex EzCan to control my spotties and extra brake light. Thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate your feedback... Cheers, Nick

hi, very nice video! just one question: does it charge your phone while riding with active GPS and full screen brightness on? did you already test this scenario? thank you for your info!
