Nice i want to know more about the cooling. Us road course fellas have to work hard to remove heat. The vmp triple pass for my gt 500 is the bomb every bit helps.
@@MrDavidelliottjr dct is faster for sure but there set up is lighter without dct and I'm sure they don't have the cooling to track race it hence why I would like to see comparison with the same exact setup just the different trans. No one could ever shift as fast as a dct but that dct so far because nobody can unlock it yet is not doing so good on launches because it's slipping the clutches for traction but once it gets going theres nothing like them dcts
Many reasons why, the engine, the transmission, the way it's built to perform, the biggest reason here as mentioned is the trans, it's limit is 650 torque, Ford compensated for that and made it as high as possible while leaving some wiggle room for more abuse and more power, and it doesn't need to be overpowered with torque since what you want is to get the car moving with that low end torque to get up to speed quickly, but after that the Horsepower is what will do all the real work of pushing the car harder, which it does, Ford has the highest Horsepower car in it's class at the moment based on it's competition, and that is important, not just for bragging rights but overall performance especially with the way the car is.
Ford had to tweak the tuning to make sure the torque didn't exceed the factory torque rating of the transmission which if I'm not mistaken is 650 pound feet of torque
TVS superchargers develop boost quicker than twin screws of similar size and blower rpm. The displacement to blower size compared to a coyote with giant twin screw 2.9 to 3.6L means the supercharger spins faster from the get go so torque comes on sooner. Having lower compression allowing for even more blower speed again brings boost on sooner. The big twin screws being spun slowly aren’t in their efficiency window until the top of the rev range. They’re typically ran on low boost because of high compression further reducing their efficiency. TVS blowers sing at 11-14lbs of boost while twin screws prefer 15-20lbs of boost. That also depends on what PR the twin screw was designed for. KBs like stupid high boost to hit their window.
Chris Carson the coyote or predator has more stroke than a hellcat while a predator is only 1 thousands of a inch shorter than a GM GenV. The coyote is only a few thousands lower. Fords have a lower rod ratio also. These engines have more valve surface area ie flow potential along with a much lighter valve train allowing for a 7-8k rev. The valves are around nearly half the weight of a OHV engine. Even titanium still doesn’t come close in a OHV configuration. This is further aided by fully independent VVT with a much larger sweep. If you locked these cams in their max power position the engine would lope like hell. Their advertised duration numbers are performance cam territory for larger V8 engines and run as much lift as a typical push rod engine. If you look at the stresses these things endure I think they’re even more impressive in my opinion.
Weird ford was saying how these cams were blower specific. Those cams are identical to voodoo cams with the exception of firing for a cross plane. Cool project so far.
So I’m not complaining about the swap, it’s very cool and unique and I’m sure very good, why did you choose this car? Was the motor in it blown up? Or were you just wanting a change?
What i noticed is that on the third run the torque hung in a lot better than on the second run. Pretty impressive so far. Be good when you get your own GT500 so we can see how the stock fuel system holds up over the system in the track attack.
The GT500 chasis should also have a better overall design to fit the engine, especially when it comes to cooling, this chasis will overall show later on heavy heat soak.
Ford has all the pieces to destroy the Ram TRX once it comes out. Maybe as a last hoorah they'll unveil the Predator powered Raptor when this generation ends.
Technically no. Only when you turn up the boost it starts to become a problem. Stock there's no issues. So if you're wondering if it's a design problem. That's not the case.
Isn't that a dyno misrepresentation when a 2.28 you are a full throttle then get off and stab the gas pedal immediately that will make the dyno read higher hp than actual ? Or does the car just rev up when getting off the pedal ? I could be wrong ! But watch the rear of the car at full throttle it tucks then rises after pull the then when tucks again from throttle input. That's got to be worth 30-50 hp of false hp. I'm impressed by the new GT500, but keep it real !

I'm really curious how the cooling compares to a 5.2L Aluminator with your Odin blower. You guys are running a similar blow up style.

how much difference is it to put the predator engine into a 2013 Ford F 150. could it realistically be done
dont f150s come with coyote engines already? the predator is a variant of the coyote so my guess is it should.
Needs to be in the Raptor
This is great to see..! I hope that Ford is keeping an open eye to what VMP is doing , so Ford can keep improving .....!!

Why do these new Gt500’s have so much low torque numbers?

That is accurate. At the time this car was built, Cervini's built this custom hood for us to display the supercharger for SEMA.
