Thanks for the video about how to unlock a Galaxy S7 edge. But it doesn't always work. The first step in your procedure is to turn the phone off. This is impossible because my Galaxy S7 edge tells me to type in the password, or draw the unlock pattern on the screen, before it allows me to turn it off. So I can't turn it off.
Then just let the battery drain fully. After that charge the battery but DO NOT switch on the phone. Once battery is charged, start the process... Good luck :)

Sorry, I know the comments late, but draining the battery is unnecessary. The phone will shut off within 15 seconds of holding down the home key+power button+volume down button simultaneously.
TheTruthBeTold Press restart instead. And when the screen goes off while there’s a blue light on top, press Volume + Home + Power button straight away. Hope that helps.

Completely discharge the battery...then charge it back up. The phone should be powered off at that point and you can perform the reset.
