Played an rcq yesterday with this deck, but snakeskins over defense, felt amazing. Lost in the semis to the new jeskai creativity deck with vaultborns. Both games he just had turn 4 creativity x=2 and gained 12, drew 4, plus had 12 power trample in play. Not really sure how to beat that or what i was supposed to sideboard for it. Any help is appreciated, thx 👍
I'm not sold on Silence, but I've seen Lumimancer do some dirty stuff. I personally like the MonoR build the best at the moment, but I'm hoping to continue my exploration of all the color combos.
If it weren't for vampires demanding the run afoul mode I would kind of want to try destructive revelry over PYP. I know its an entire mana more but instant speed and targeted plus some splash damage seems great. I guess PYP cleans up other random huge fliers, too, but I imagine vamps is the big deal.
Was Break Out not working out so well? I figured 0 witchstalker, 3 Break Out, 2 Atarka might feel good. 16 potential hits off of Break Out is decent. 🤷♂️
I haven't been on the Break Out build yet. I felt like that version was too heavy on creatures for Break Out to make Bird good, and too light on creatures to make Break Out that great. That said, the explosive nature of BTE and Break Out plus Bushwhacker is nuts.
@@TandyMTG yeah I think generally you want at least the consistency as your mana bases, at least 93%. It doesn't really make sense though when your best card requires non creatures to pop off. I wasn't arguing for break out, Phil has tried to make it work a few times. It seems painful
For a while I thought this was modern… Damn this is powerful for Pioneer
The Menace from Demonic Ruckus has come in so clutch for me, especially against Rakdos Midrange.

I am curious about the doomwake version too
it's on his yt. It's more creature focused with break out, BTE and reckless bushwhacker. I'd say it's probably a bit worse than this version
What’s your thoughts on a Boros version for silence and clever lumimancer. Silence seems great after a plotted bird.

PYP is just an incredible sideboard card. It does so much for such a small investment. It's almost maindeckable, and probably is in older formats.
nice built!! do you have any standard-slickshot-built in mind?? either mono red or gruul??
Mono red looks nice. Check mtggoldfish
This version definitely feels strong
Is it worth bringing in ferocidon for vampires or are you judt relying on pick your poison
PYP and Witchstalker are both great.
how about kari zev's expertise in the sideboard?
Reasonable. It's been a staple in Red deck sideboards for a while but I hesitate to play any card that invalidates Jegantha.
@@TandyMTG got it! thanks 😁

You need 20 targets to get a 90%hit rate
@@killpioo2 a 90% hit rate is not good enough to play the card. Missing is usually game over.

I top 8 Rcq with Gruul. Lost to Ameila combo. Snakeskin veil over blossoming for the plus counter utility
Amalia is rough. Gonna play 4 Ferocidon to help out.
@@TandyMTG I used Doomwakes list. But my sideboard was 3 Ferocidon, 3 Damp Sphere, 2 Atara command, 4 pick poison, 3 Rending volly
Royal Treatment provides the same buff as Snakeskin Veil AND gives Ward 1.
@@hunterpauli763 it is a great card. Only issue with gruul deck is that ward 1 role token may replace your monstrous rage token.
First :p I wanted to see this deck!
