I used a crt television all the way up to 2009 I’m only 17 but I have memories of using these and it’s crazy how long technology has came. My crt television was from the mid 90s and was a Magnavox. Other kids my age don’t really appreciate what came before the technology we have in the 2020s
@@Nickwilde2295 idek I used to use vcr than went to DVD. Now I use blu ray and streaming on my ps5 and Samsung 55inch smart tv. It’s crazy how time passes
I think you scored for $15. Picked up one of these the other day from the dump and it cleaned up nicely. For a cheap Funai clone this surprisingly has a decently sharp picture with vibrant and vivid colors. Dvd player isn't bluray but it works perfectly. Perfect for retro gaming. Been around for 20 years. Probably another 20 with the right care.
@@retrogamerkid3792 Because most of the VCRs they make are complete garbage for the most part. The tape would get eaten due to a mode switch problem or something else related to that.
@@retrogamerkid3792 Yes but I don't have the remote to access the tuner even if there is a digital tuner so I didn't know since only analog channels are detected.
I used to have a flat screen from 2007 so i knew this TV was one of the last. When i saw that the back said April 2008, i thought the TV would have been older until i looked at the back. Not a surprise that a DVD player came with it because Funai under Magnavox and different names made VCR/DVD player combos which were mostly garbage on the VCR part. At least this set works fine including the DVD player.
There was also RCA Truflat TVs made around the same year and that TV just like the last ones made at the time had the SDTV label. th-cam.com/video/yrxaBot3fsI/w-d-xo.html
I bought the same one, I can't change channel, it is only in the dvd screen, I wanted to buy the remote control that has all the options. but it costs more than the tv. I bought a universal one but I can not control the dvd player.
I know SDTV means the tuner is a Standard Definition Digital Television but i don't have the remote in order to access the menu either. I can change the channel and go to video and the DVD but not the menu and i also ordered a remote from ebay but the remote did not work. Now i am never going to know if this TV set actually does have a Digital tuner. If you do find a remote that works for this TV let me know and send me the link to that.
Same TV I have my is silver and is from 2007 I play my Xbox from 2001 on it and also it came with remote and same volume bar shows on screen same DVD screen and cords on front and headphones cord that’s my story of my magnavox DVD TV
I used to have a really crappy 2007 Lumatron CRT with a DVD player. Lumatron is a Swedish shit brand that was only sold at Ica (ica is a swedish groocery store if youre wondering) the TV part was made by Chunghwa and the DVD was made by Asatech and yeah those are shit brands. I am sorry to say These later crts where very cheap china crap
They're cheap but you'd be surprised at how well a retro game holds up on a cheap CRT compared to any LCD/HDTV. For $15, this set wasn't a bad pickup at all.

Ours says playback feature may not be available on this disc. I tried so many dvd’s already but won’t play.
I just discovered that this had a DTV tuner so I can still use it to watch broadcast over the air yeah!
Mine (shown in this video) did not have a Digital tuner.
It said sdtv

Nice
I yesto have a box TV whan i was Little and i had it all the way until 2012
April 2008 is kind of late for a CRT TV, because by that point flat screen HDTVs were being made.
