It would help if you you talked the process throughout the video. Also,, I'm thinking the replacement batteries you can get would be the same or lesser cost than the cordless drill battery unless you had a used one on hand already. Very good idea of removing the kick start...it's a pain.

Well the OEM batteries are lead based and so heavy. Tool batteries with an equivalent capacity will be way faster to charge, and provide a much better riding experience, and you don't degrade them when running a full 100% cycle like lead batteries. Way better performance in cold weather.
Lithium tool batteries run all my kids scooters, and they work way better than lead. Plus, you can charge a battery while riding and then just swap them.

This won't work the powerwire is to small of a gauge if you want to do this you need to use a relay that will allow you to use a 8 or 10 guage wire to the motor. If you don't all that will happen is destroying the throttle.

Hello, I have two scooters like yours with dead batteries. I love your video and it motivates me to modify ours. first what is the name of your connectors to connect the wires? have you thought of a method to charge the battery without opening the case every time? your video is super clear but do you have a small diagram on the wires to connect? I have about forty drill batteries and I was wondering if I could use the bms of a 20v and do a 12v with it...I don't know if you understand me...keep up the good work and sorry for my english....i am better in french. patrick

Thanks for watching, my connectors are Compact Splicing Connectors. Haven't thought about charging connections yet as I was just experimenting how to eliminate the kickstart. Well I don't have a wiring diagram, I just removed the motor controller unit and connect the battery to the throttle wires then from throttle wires to the brake wires and from the brake wires to the motor. Just simple as that.

Working on o revolting the same scooter using a 48v 13ah ebike battery. I'm starting off with a converter down to stock 24v. I want to make sure the components work well before running @ 36v. Waiting for a replacement stock controller to show up. Good to learn that stock controller will handle 36v when the time comes. I would have thought you'd see more than 14 mph @ 36v. Not sure how it compares to stock 24v

@@cesar8359 Guess the results will tell if it was a good idea, but thx. Did you see much motor heat @ 36v? Not sure what the max current is on the stock controller. I'm currently running an E200 controller: 24V Control Module For Razor E200,E300, E300S,E325 V1-10/12, HB2430-TYD6-FS-ROHS. Had to order a 6 wire throttle, which also reports battery level. Works on the bench OK, just need to order a cradle for the silverfish battery, prolly to mount on the stem, then ready to test the speed, and range before I see overheating motor given the 20a output @ 24v. Guess I won't see more than 12 MPH, but should get there quick. Have yet to find a step down to 36v, 20a converter, technically, I should run it with a matching 36v throttle and 36v controller..but I may gamble running 36v into this 24v setup
