Wait.. did she *seriously* just apply Opti-Seal before showing water beading has returned?!? 😲😲 Well yeah, of course the panel will bead water *after* you apply a friggin' fresh sealant on top of it! That completely nullifies the beading ability test as proof of the old coating being intact. That is akin to testing if something is flammable by pouring gasoline on it before trying to burn it.. 😒😒
Agree for me as well; in fact, that negated the entire video when that happened. The car looked like it had completely lost beading during the other steps from what I could see.
Agreed, when I saw her do that I was like "NOOO!!". Now we don't know for sure if the water test was done after the Hyper Seal application to that panel but it sure seems like it was. If so then the test results are null and void.
Thanks Chris! Pauline and everyone at Race Day are great to work with and we appreciate them taking the time to be our pro for this vid. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
I haven't tried the "pro" yet, but have used and love Opti-Coat. I have many Optimum products and they all do a great job, just placed an order for more products today. One day I hope I take the classes they offer just to get my hands on the Opti-Coat Pro and +Plus just for my personal use. Thanks Optimum and keep doing what you are doing.
Isni K, thanks for the comment! That's all great to hear and keep an eye out for the trainings, we'd love to have you there! We conduct them all the time so eventually.... Thanks again!
Hi guys, this is quite amazing. The coating has obviously done and is still doing it's job. It has quite literally protected the vehicle against some of the harshest weather and typical consumer mistakes. To the people saying it's not that hydrophobic, it doesn't matter. The coating has lasted for almost 10 years and hasn't been taken care of, and yet the vehicle hasn't oxidized and neither has the TRIM...THE TRIM is always the first to go. "It's not as hydrophobic as I like!" Says the internet detailer. Well I say, who cares because the car is truly protected.
Would have been helpful to see cleaned coating's water performance just before applying the sealer. FYI just had Opti-Coat+ applied to my vehicle (wasn't offered Opti-Coat 3, unfortunately) and am hopeful it will perform well.
yep, i spotted that right away... *sprays hydrophobic sealer on paint, then sprays water* "LOOK AT THAT BEADING! ITS ALL COME BACK FROM 9 YEARS AGO" ....
Still one of the best Opticoat videos. I hope there will be videos of this car or other cars going on for 15-20 years to prove durability of the Opticoat
Hey Jake, love having you on the team! You know, I totally forgot to give the mileage, you didn't miss it. However, to answer your question, it has 92.500 miles as of today. Thanks for the watching and for taking the time to comment. Cheers

that's because it is silver paint. on silver and white paint, it's almost impossible to see swirl marks unless you are REALLY TRYING to look for them. I have a white car that looks perfect, but if I get the light on the right angle, i can see a bnch of scratches
Fantastic product, super excited to be an authorized OptiCoat installer. After doing a Pro+ job the other day, just absolutely amazed at how amazing that vehicle looked!

We usually use about 2 capfuls of ONR and fill the rest with water depending on the size of the foam cannon, I like it as a pre-rinse.
