I finally decided to create a crib board for my niece and her daughter. I will design it around the pegs. So far the pegs I like the best are the ones shown in the thumbnail for your video. I can't seem to find them anywhere online although I have seen similar. Where did you get yours from?

Thanks for watching. Try Rockler woodworking. That’s where I got them from years ago.

I'm not sure which I'm more annoyed with: myself for not thinking of Rockler or that not once did Rockler's page with them come up while searching for "cribbage board pegs". Thanks for the tip.

    Hello Mandell,
I saw this video when you first posted it and greatly admired the design and execution then. The paint may have bled a bit but that makes it "less machine made" (if that makes sense).
I'm thinking of making a cribbage board for some players at work on our CNC machine and having been researching what others have done re-found this video. The other designs that I've come across don't quite works for me. The images cut into the surface (2D or 3D bas-relief) seem forced, the designs too traditional, etc.
I am intrigued by the scoring markings. I really enjoy the differently-sized and angled numbers in the two or perhaps three typefaces you've used. And I especially like how the numbers are nestled in among the flowing flower chains. Basically all the other layouts for the numbers that I've come across are so static because of same-sized numbers in a rectilinear array. I just might have to "steal" your idea. I'm not sure I can integrate in a design as well as you have done though.
Ever since I first played crib (many years ago now) I wondered why the peg holes and markings were in groups of 5 and not 6 since 6 seemed to figure in so many scores (...and a pair is 6; three jacks is 6; two runs of three for 6; etc.). So, marking out multiples of six is genius.
But I'm curious: along one long edge I count 50 holes. Add to that 10 lines and you get 60. Return around the other long edge you get 50 more holes plus the previously counted 10 lines for 120 points in total. Which is what I expect.
But, if you are pegging points and that causes your peg to land on one of the lines (6, 12, 18, etc.) how do you mark that score? Lay the peg down on the line? Or...??
Anyway, thanks for such a nice design and for your videos.
    Steven

Very nice, what bits did you use?

Paul Jatkowski 60 degree v carve bit and a .1250 or 1/8 bit for my peg holes.

Robert Pinta I didn’t buy it online but I’m sure you can buy it from Micheal’s or any major hardware store.
