I mean, Manufacturers are 100% doing these teardowns too, its just more of a case of Trademark/IP infraction. You see alot of similar solutions to the common problems in Sim hardware currently availible tbh

This is a nice solution for using Moza wheels and hardware with other bases. However, I can't help but feel a more consumer friendly approach would be implementing USB capability into all of thier wheels to prevent the need for buying an additional hub. Making the base side qr and a hub like this available to use their rims outside of the ecosystem is still much more than Fanatec would ever offer thier customers so I do appreciate the freedom. As a modder and diyer Inalways appreciate freedom over being locked into an ecosystem.
Well said, I totally agree. I just purchased the podium endurance module and now have to buy the qr, shifter paddles and a wheel just so I can use it on their system it's very frustrating and just think If I want to use a different vendors wheel setup (usb) I basically have to do it all over again. I originally was going to purchase Moza befroe Fanatec but the dd pro base went on sale that day and I got it instead and had buyers remorse right after I hit enter on the keyboard.
The windows controller dinput display is outdated and doesn't support button IDs above 32, modern dinput controllers can go up to 128 buttons. Web based and third party controller testers work a lot better.
Here's me posting on a really old video, but for situations where you're mating up two parts, both with the same threads, and you want actual clamping force, you need a BOLT with the threads ground off close to the head. Instead of forever altering the part, you can just grind down 1/4" of the bolt's threads (or just a hair over the thickness of the part) or just run down to the hardware store to get a bolt that works for that. Bolts are cheap, these parts are not.
Hi did you have trouble doing the firmware update for the fsr wheel? I gotthe FSR wheel and universal hub but in the Pit software it wont let me do the wheel firmware update as its available. There is button upgrade all in one click but it does nothing.
I'm hoping the universal hub is a step toward console compatibility. I'm thinking it makes sense to route all the input devices through a hub to one USB connection for a console. As always, thanks for the great review!
Hi Barry, thanks for your videos! Do you have any experience with the Universal Hub and the Force Feedback on the Fanatec DD1 Wheel Base? Does it work? Thank you very much Alex
Hello Berry I saw your video about the Next Level Raceing Traction Plus Platform and the JCL Simrig V4+ with Rig, Harness Tower and D-Box Motion. Now to my questions how heavy was the complete rig from JCL because the NLR Traction Plus can only handle 235kg. Please help on your part.
Hey Barry, sorry to go off topic but I a question about the T818. I was wondering whether a review is in the works or planned? Very interested in the wheelbase, but I am really interested in your opinions on it. Love the video's, greetings from NL.
So since your base is 20nm isn’t your whole setup essentially the same as just getting mozas R21 wheel base which then would not require the universal hub or am I missing something?
Hi Barry, I have an NRG quick release mount on my VRS wheelbase. Is Moza’s quick release compatible with NRG or will I have to buy the Moza wheelbase adapter? Thanks for your time 🙏🏽
Just got the Logitech Pro wheel and I must say wow! I played Dirt Rally 2.0 with trueforce and what a difference! You have to do a review on the wheel base and pedals! Also if you can do a video on Logitech G 923 and compare how the Logitech Trueforce works on that wheel would be a really good overview on both!
I was thinking this could be handy for that. Run a QR1 into the Podium Hub, into the adapter, into the hub on the moza wheel..... Should be fine so long as you can sit in an adjacent room to your wheel base to get far enough away from it
The wheel side QR probably has 70mm and 50mm to the square plate mounted to the wheel. If this is true, no need for moza adapter wheelbase QR. Just use NRG QR both wheel and base.
This is needed only because they didn't make their devices able to connect directly to PC or USB to PC. SIMAGIC has this function built in to their products so it's one less thing to buy or have. Also not making it 70 mm standard makes it yet more annoying if wanting to use other wheels Good point on the amount of power required to run all the devices if plugged into that hub. Gonna see a lot of disgruntled owners who discover that only after they get it and not have enough power to run. Does it come with an additional power adapter? Did I miss seeing this in your video?
Manufacturers and designers must appreciate these sorts of appreciative tear-downs.

Locking people's choice was evil thought.
Sounds like they heard with the latest KS wheel. Hopefully they will continue this trend.

Awesome video, 👌 I'm starting with a full moza setup. But it's good to know what other options are offered.
I believe GSI do a captive screw set to overcome the problems you were having mounting the hub. Not tried them myself.

This wheel adapter is almost ready for prime time.
Hey Barry - Great video, as usual!
I had the same issue, and i just cleaned the threads out using a 5mm drill bit

All RJ11 being 4 wires, wondering if this hub hides the fact that the accessories are actually standalone USB if you rewire them - bypassing the hub.
I am looking to buy the asetek invicta wheelbase and asetek qr but I also want the moza rs v2, could these 2 work together with power?

Moza Racing is taking the going to take over the lead role from Fanatec very shortly.
Not without console compatibility. Fanatec is so often out of stock because they sell console hardware.

is this hub required for hooking the pedals into the base"? im not sure i saw a port on the base for pedals
yeah VRS!
Anyone did a diy solution for the hub? I'm only interested to get a Moza steering wheel working on a pc with another base.
Hello, when to test T818😁
Do ONLY Moza wheels plug in it?

Good morning, I need to ask a question: With the Hub and adapter, could you use that steering wheel with my DirectForce Pro VRS base? Thank you
Yes.
does the quick release work on moza r5
I should be able to get it mounted to my Podium hub right?

So you can't use this wheel as standalone only with this device, instead of plugging it straight to pc?
Has anyone tried writing a usb directly to the wheel RJ port to see if it works?

i think it's also a console Hub For PS5 or xbox... And for the power, you don't connect a motor to it, in this case no need for power
There's not enough power from PC to juice up everything without issues if you plug it all into this hub.
