The production on this is ... wow. There's so much packed into one song that we need to take a rest and breathe after listening. And he paid homage to his roots by starting with a verse in Welsh. What a knockout start to the album.

The whole album has some lovely influences from hip hop to dance and reggae, It’s a masterpiece. I’ve listened to this track maybe 10 times now and every time I discover even more little nuances and word play. It’s got so many layers! ❤🇬🇧
I have a question regarding the term "beat". To my understanding the "beat" is the overall rhythmic, provided by rhythm elements like drums and percussions. I´m not a Hip-Hop head, but could it be, that in Hip-Hop the whole backing track including the melody elements is called "the beat"? I´m always confused, when people refer to melody elements as "a beat"..
As an old Hip Hop head, I think I'd agree with your assessment. The beat to me is always the 'rhythmic' part of the tune (Usually the drums, HI hat or other percussive elements, though not always I guess, especially with Ren). The flow is always the vocal elements, how they ride that beat can be loosely interpreted as the flow pocket, and the cadence is the pitch & speed style of the vocals, that's how I've always interpreted it at least. I understand what you mean about the melody though, but if that's the main rhythmic part, and the drums/percussion are faint, or incidental, that can def be referred to as the beat too. However, I've never really thought about it before, but you are right that in Hip Hop the melody is often thought of as the beat too, almost like it's interpreted as having just a beat and flow, and so people divide all elements into those two categories. Interesting observation.
