      Thank you for your condolences! He was my first piggy, and we had a really, really special and beautiful life together. I'm doing my best to focus on being grateful for all the silly hat selfies together, the eyes closed naps on my chest, the morning kissies he insisted on getting before he would touch his breakfast (and him teaching all my other pigs to do the same) the popcorn's and the zoomies, the shared carrots and all the love we shared ❤️ he was my best friend and he is dearly missed.

    VINEGAR!! always use white or apple cider vinegar when washing your fleece. Its nontoxic for piggies, and you will not smell the vinegar after the wash but it neutralizes the pee so it helps so much. Add 1/2-1cup vinegar in every large wash along with your detergent and you will be amazed how much cleaner everything smells

      Yes! I agree 100%. I put some in the wash water and about 1/3 cup in the fabric softener dispenser (so it goes into the rinse water). It really does make a huge difference.

    • @Annie-z7l9o
      @Annie-z7l9o 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, it's best to add it to the rinse cycle, then do an extra rinse to ensure all the vinegar is out because it is an acid and residue in the fleece can irritate, make their little paws raw & red. ❤

    This is a fun topic! When you clean out your animals regularly, they really don't smell. What I loved when I had a pair, was that they smelt of what they ate. Fresh veggies and hay mmmm ❤. Great topic 😁🐹✨.

    Thank you. I have a rabbit and three guinea pigs. They free roam around my apartment for a lot of the day. I have a large litter box in the bathroom and they each have their own cages that they sleep in at night. They don't smell at all, and I think it's because they're vegan. They don't eat meat like cats and dogs. Their poop doesn't smell at all. I was even homeless with them, we slept in the cab of my pickup truck. All five of us. And there wasn't any smell at all. At that time, two of my guinea pigs were in laundry baskets because I didn't have room for all their cages. I did clean their cages every day in that situation because we were in Pennsylvania in the winter and I didn't want them sitting in cold pee at night. And I couldn't even use water bowls at night and so I fed them more greens. But they never smelled. And one of them slept with me under the covers and would poop and pee but it never smelled.

    Love my Harriet and Clementine and I can't smell ,but when my mom comes in the room, it's always the fresh hay scent and when my sister visits out of town, she uses my room where Harriet and Clem are and says, nope, no smell,lol. She teases as she has told others that I spoil my girls ---oh yes, but made a comment that poop doesn't stand a chance in their home,lol. Seriously, I have my Harriet and Clementine on fleece and with skinnies, I keep up with spot cleaning, do a full clean as needed and sometimes it can be as little as two or three days. I have werewolf skinny guinea pigs and they need oil baths. Such a topic too and Scotty, you are right, when I got both my girls, their skin was in horrible condition and both needed treatment baths with follow up care for fungal cream. Harriet still needs grapefruit seed extract oil every once in a while and Clementine, after her last treatment with fungal cream has not needed . Two different kinds of werewolf breeds and care. I wish I could smell Harriet and Clementine as they would smell like a piece of heaven....they are my heart!

    Yes, they have a "smell," but it's not a stinky smell (unless it's a boy spreading their musk around, lol.) I feel like they each have their own natural scent just like humans do. I like the "hay and happiness" description--I think that's very accurate!💜

    I still washed my girls at least twice a year in the head and shoulders like you had said in another video. They were in shavings all the time towards the end of their lives they were washed more due to one girl having loose poops and they both had poops on their feet trying to avoid bumble foot which I did.

      @@neelymurphy6797 I honestly have never heard that term until just now. All I know is about a year ago when my younger pig turned 2 is when he all of a sudden wants to be the dominant pig and makes it his one and only goal to try to dominance hump my older pig. Sometimes it works. But mostly the older one shuts his attempts down by humping him instead. They have all the room in the world. And I see them sleep near each other so I know they get along. Don't all intact boars have the instinct to scrub their butts on their fleece to purposely keep their strongest scents in their cage? And then they rub their faces in it and roll in it. I just don't want to handle them with my hands and snuggle them, those intact males are too gross for me.
