Have you ever eaten crocodile? How about an entire crocodile over open flames? You may be surprised what it tastes like. Let me know what some of your favourite foods in Davao are
Love to see you embracing the new format! I love this video -You're much happier and chiller now! Good JOB!! Your voice is even more relaxing lol - Glad you got Yong's Satti when i recommended it! It's making me so hungry!
When you mentioned Davao in a comment on one of your earlier videos, I was secretly hoping you'd feature the buwaya. AND you definitely did not disappoint. :)
I have spent a lot of time in Muslim countries and have no issues eating halal despite my love of pork. I will say the halal food I found in Mindanao is different from what I have had in other countries
@@PureDetour what makes theirs different? and is that rice dry? I was only in the Phil for a short vacation and mostly ate Ilocano dishes and street foods in Manila before leaving. I want to come back and try Mindanao next! Last time I was told too dangerous but recent vlogs showed me otherwise
@@combatpredictions9671, I think for the most part in Muslim countries you can find the same styles of cooking techniques and flavour profiles where here the flavour profiles take on a very distinct Filipino flavour. As to Mindanao being dangerous, I can tell you Davao is absolutely safe. You do read reports about General Santos and Zamboanga being dangerous but to me it's more along the lines of the reports you read about Egypt being dangerous outside of the major city centres (I traveled all over Egypt). Can something happen? Sure, but you probably have a better chance of being struck by lightning than running into any trouble. As with everywhere you travel, exercise a high degree of caution and I think you would be fine
Wow you're very adventurous with that croc. I never could down that considering I even ordered a croc sisig, which was supposed to be easier to swallow but just couldn't. The texture threw me off.
Hey JC, you're not allowed to pick on me.😂 I have been shown in no less than 3 countries howe to eat with your hands and I still can't get the hang of it, but I keep on trying. lol

Hey there, will be in the Philippines next week. I've been seeing videos of restaurants with the food in display cases or chafing dishes, just like the first restaurant in this video. Is the food heated before serving? I'm not sure cold food is very palatable.
I understand your concerns and you can ask for it to be heated. Whether they will or not is another story. But normally these dishes are served room temp. It is common throughout all of SE Asia to see this. Soups etc will be hot and specific dishes will be cooked on demand. Then again, if you're just being a tourist (no offense meant by that) you probably will not end up in any of the Carinderia's anyway
Did you taste the mud in the catfish? Maybe it's farm raised.😁 The US south is all about the catfish. Everytime I'm in AL, MS they push the catfish...not a fan.😂 Maybe they do it better in the Philippines? I've had croc before, tastes like snake. You can get it at a restaurant called Papadeuxs in the US.
I grew up in the southern US so I have eaten a ton of catfish in my life. I love it. lol It has never tasted like mud to me As always, thanks for watching, Darryl
