@@Powerstroke431 no but it probably has nothing to do with the block heater other than it’s at the right temp to leak. It like having a leak only when cold.
@AutomedicGarage My truck has never leaked coolant till just recently and if I don't use the block heater there's no leaks, but an hour or so after plugging it in there's dripping from underneath the water pump area. I'm in Canada so -30c daytime temps cause seals to shrink I get that just weird it never leaks unless using the block heater.
@@Powerstroke431 verify that it isn’t originating from the valley anywhere. Recently had one come in that I could have swore was gonna be a water pump leak, turned out the donut gasket on intake was degraded and brittle. It only leaked for a few minutes after warm up. No leak hot, no leak cold. Not saying that’s what you have just saying sometimes coolant leaks can be a fuss to find.
I know the coolant recover tank has a cold full mark on it but I've never heard or read if this is measured while running or sitting. I see the level increase slightly while not running and opening the cap and the built up pressure is released. So check it running or not?
I've an 03 built in May 475k. Done about every major dealer fail thru PSH in GA cause they're just around the corner. It appeared that your oring fit snug on water pump. My oring doesn't snug on the pump little edging but fits perfect on cover so i put it there. I've changed it before 5 years ago but no memory if same situation. Looks like the little bottom cap seal gave way. Never over heated just dripping from harm balancer. Im using same type pump again because lifetime warranty on a new part not reman. Are the orings different from 03-06. Part#KT-756 on bag
I replaced water pump and no more leaking at the balancer, degas bottle and heater hose before that valve. Can a broken water pump cause higher pressure than 16lbs because i had a splash at the degas bottle and some minor dripping at the rubber heater hose that connects at the front of the motor?
@@deviloffdasouth4144 is it water or coolant. Your evaporator is on your passenger side and drips a lot of water from condensation especially during high humidity.
Thank you for these videos! I got 2003 6.0, all stock, but I think I'm overdue and changing the EGR and oil cooler. Only have 119k on it, still runs but sooo sluggish when cold .

Thanks for this. Nice to see a thorough repair video!
Love your videos not a lot fluff just work and explanations. Thank you
Thanks bud, I’ve got some ideas for some fun content that won’t be just straight up working, maybe some comparisons, reviews etc

It’s not a bad job

I need help my 6.0 start leaking water in the passenger side my the wheel what could it be?
@@deviloffdasouth4144 is it water or coolant. Your evaporator is on your passenger side and drips a lot of water from condensation especially during high humidity.
How do you get coolant out of the heater core? I’m gonna switch to elc
You can A) flush the system with heater control valve in open position or B) disconnect both heater lines and blow out with compressed air
@@AutomedicGarage thanks
12:02 Harbor Freight. Those ones you’re using are probably really thin. You can get thicker gloves.
I haven’t thought about harbor freight I’ll check them out. Thanks
@@AutomedicGarage they have them in different mil thicknesses. All the way up to 9 mil. Those are pretty stout.

What do i do when I don’t have an air gun?
You can do a cold chisel and hammer or wrench and hammer or go rent/buy the fan clutch tool
I used a 24 inch pipe wrench
I bought a large adjustable wrench and use a long socket extension to hold/stop the pump cover gizmo that the belt runs on
@@reeaub i tried that too. I think mine was welded to the water pump housing
