All I know is that it’s gonna take 9 years for Tom to become a cardiologist which is nuts . 6 years Germany, France, USA … The most insane thing in my opinion is that you don’t have to become an FMH internist, 2 years are officially enough but you won’t get hired … need to do the 5 years of IM.
Hi Stefano! I have done 2 years of internal medicine in Greece and I want to become a gastroenterologist! Do these 2 years count for the specialty or do I have to do another 2 years of internal medicine in Switzerland? (gastroenterology needs 3 years of internal medicine and 3 of gastroenterology)
Hey, Stefano! Thank you. I was wondering if you know how long it usually takes for your application to be accepted on the German side? Do we need to apply a long time in advance for internal medicine, for example? Keep it up!
Hi, if you mean the recognition of your medical diploma, the direct recognition takes up to three months. Then, in my opinion it makes sense to apply for job positions once you have the recognition. However, it may take quite some time to find especially your first job as resident. Best of luck, Stefano
Hi, Stefano! i am a dentist from India(recent graduate) , i will be clearing language by this year(german b2 Level), one of my mentor suggested to apply for germany get the degree recognised and then apply for Schweiz, at this point i dont know what to do if my ultimate goal is to do dental residency in Switzerland what would be the best approach apply for germany with b2 level german and clear c1 medical there and give another exam called Kenntnisprüfung to get a licence to practice in germany then i would be able to apply for residency in germany, but i have very little information about switzerland. So far what i know is get your degree recognised in germany and become a citizen there then apply for switzerland. do you have any idea about this ? or anyone reading this any guidance will be helpful Thankyou for your time.
Hey, Stefano! I am a medical student from Hungary “Semmelweis” ( a citizen of this country, and Hungarian by nationality ). I can get small summer internships in medicine in Germany and Austria, France, Belgium. Would this be a plus for Switzerland? I also wanted to ask you about the language. I heard that in Switzerland they don't speak traditional “German”( like Austria and Germany ),Swiss have their own dialect which is very strange and very different from German (at least on Wikipedia it looked like that), is it true? If so, how can I learn this dialect. Also in my faculty there is a German,France medical language course at B2 level, would this be enough to start working in a Swiss medical clinic right away? I just started this year, so I'm a first semester student. This gives me the opportunity to choose whether to learn German or French, which one do you recommend??? THANK YOU !!!!!
Hi ! In CH they speak swiss german, but to be able to work in the german speaking part, u'll be required proficiency in german ONLY. Official documents and meeting/conferences are in german but everyday life is in swiss german that varies according to the canton u're living in......and u'll learning by living there. With that being said, keep in mind that german speaking area accounts for approximately 60-70% of the country, so if I had to choose I'll go with the german cause on the long term it can give u more opportunity. Best of luck!
Hi stefano! Greatly appreciate the videos, I'm slightly confused about the primary requirement to be eligible to work as an EU medical graduate but being from a non EU country which category do I fit into for the recognition of my diploma. I am fluent in French and learning Italian. I'd love to hear your thoughts about this. Thank you !
Hi, thank you for the information. I’m from Venezuela, and I have recognized my diploma in Spain, but I don’t have any European nationality. I also speak French fluently (B2). I’d like to know if I have any possibility of recognition or at least of obtaining a federal diploma.
I graduated(mbbs)from India in 2019. I have worked for a few months and I have moved to the USA. Here, I can not work legally due to a dependent visa. My husband has been working in Switzerland for 2 years, and we are planning to move back to Switzerland for my residency and work. I am really confused about what to do and how to start. Can you please help me. 1. Can I work in Switzerland with just MBBS after taking the FLE and Language Test? 2. If I want to pursue higher studies, I mean residency as a non EU member and non EU degree. Can I do that? 3. What is the first step i should do to pursue my dreams in Swizz? 4. Is it okay to take the German test alone, or should I take IELTS or TOEFL?
The second year of Gina in the same category C hospital cannot be recognized for internal medicine. But what if she changes hospital and goes into another category C? Can it be recognized? Thank you!!
Grazile Stefano. Adesso mi sono accorto del perche si dice di imparare le lingue...
Grazie per il commento e in bocca al lupo!
