They get polished. We fall in love with that raw, rough cut sound and feel. I measure them all with my foot. If it goes to tapping.......well, that's a damn good sign. Only a well written song will draw me in. This is doing it for me.
There’s something about his voice that I can’t explain, it’s like I heard it before but it’s different. It’s familiar but it’s unique. I can hear him sing all day
Not only that, his art as he sings the song, his gestures and facial expressions when he looks up from his guitar. I feel like he's sitting right in front of me playing the song just for me
Charley crockett is the first country artist that made me go full in. He is authentic and a real artist. "Everything I have i earned" that mentality is what im talking about. Can't wait to catch him live
"May your curse become a blessing, there ain't nothing else to do." " Your mind is a garden and your thoughts are the seeds, you can grow flowers or you can grow weeds." One profound thought deserves another.😊
I’ve been devouring all of the Charlie Crockett I can find. He’s in my top favorite new artists I’ve found in the past 5 years. I discovered him thru gems on vhs while I was devouring “lost dig street band” I heard seven come 11 abd was hooked. The first song in this compilation “the valley” gets me choked up every-time. His soul really shines thru his music , “may your curse become a blessing, there ain’t nothing else to do” some of the best lines every written. The country greats of yester-year would give this man a standing ovation. Thank goodness for his music in these dark times. I think I speak for all of us when I say “Much respect Mr. Crockett , forever Grateful you turned that pain into something that helps us all!”
Charlie has the voice of old time dusty traveling balladeer. A reincarnation of an old time cowboy storyteller. Love it man! Keep making this music and telling those stories....
The beautiful thing about music is that no matter how much you hate a certain genre, there will ALWAYS be at least one song from it that’ll catch your attention or make you interested. Genres are too wide and varied for you to not find SOMETHING you like. Might take some time but there’s always something.
So underrated and under appreciated.. your music is amazing I’m 28 yrs old and I grew up with my papa being my father figure and I grew up on music just like this. ❤️❤️
Yessir! I listen to him every damn day haha I was fortunate to see him on my birthday and got a pic, he’s also coming to my state on 4/20 which I’m definitely excited for haha
Love that deep Raw Country music. Btw, LB Hammer song is actually an interesting cover from the legendary Mississippi John Hurt original called Spike Driver Blues
Wow. First songs Good. Second song got me feeeling nice. Third song I’m reaching for my banjo( that I can’t play 😂) 4th song adding it to my playlist and sending it to my bluegrass friend(s). This guys amazing. Check out his song Blackjack county chains. I’m new to his stuff but loving it.
This nine pound hammer Just a little too heavy For my size For my size Take this hammer Show it to the captain Tell him I'm gone Tell him I'm gone If he should ask you Where I went to Tell him you don't know Tell him you don't know This nine pound hammer Killed John Henry It laid him low It laid him low This nine pound hammer Killed my brother But it won't kill me No it won't kill me Roll on buddy Don't you roll too slow How can I roll When the wheels won't go Roll on brother But take your time For I'm broke down And I can't make mine This nine pound hammer Just a little too heavy For my size For my size
When I first heard Charley's voice, I just plain didn't like it. I found something off-putting about it. Then I really got into "Jamestown Ferry" and never looked back. This is an example of real country. He's getting back to the roots along with Colter Wall and others. I hope these guys continue to release great sounds like they've been doing. I pray they never sell out.
This guy is going to be a star
Agreed!
Too bad. Stardom tends to rob these brilliant types of their edge.
They get polished. We fall in love with that raw, rough cut sound and feel. I measure them all with my foot. If it goes to tapping.......well, that's a damn good sign. Only a well written song will draw me in. This is doing it for me.
I’d say he already his lol
If only everyone enjoyed actual talent and not computer beats
“Alt Country” Nah you got it wrong, this IS country
YESSIR !!!
amen, brother
Came to say the same
Exactly. Most of that stuff they play on the radio is pop music. THIS is country music.
truth
Zero irony, 100% soul, and sound that is TIMELESS.
He's so passionate. And he has an encyclopedic knowledge of classic country music.
There’s something about his voice that I can’t explain, it’s like I heard it before but it’s different. It’s familiar but it’s unique. I can hear him sing all day
His voice reminds alot of charley pride
@@treytonlillymusic5632 I can see it. Just more flexible

Jesus Christ this man’s voice could soothe a raging bull.

Hell yeah. Best rendition of that song, hands down!
Charlie your a man out of your time and that's exactly what we need in Country Music!! Don't ever take no for an answer sir!!

Me and you both brother. I'm 31, and grew up with this after my father died. My grandpa took over, and I couldn't be more grateful for a man.
World Class
After 2 months of obsessing and daily listening I am fortunate enough to see him tonight. Hoping he plays this one. Great album.

Go Ahead Man, Sounds Good!
This dude is a star.
We absolutely think so!
real honesty. this dude.
Country radio stations should be ashamed for not giving this man air time! It’s pitiful how bubblegum pop music with twang passes for country music...
Thanks for watching! We are here to give these artists a platform for more exposure.
Not a country fan at all, but can't wait to see him at the Grand OL Opry someday! Love this guy's music.
Some music is just great music! Doesn't need a genre. Thanks for watching!

How can I roll
When the wheels won't go
Roll on brother
But take your time
For I'm broke down
And I can't make mine

It's nice to see Charley smile at 8:05. He always seems a bit glum!

From a very small city/town of less than 25K is a good feat ... We need more sound as such in a new contemporary context ... wish him Luck
