Love to see him getting recognition from CMT. Such an incredible story, and an even better performer and musician. Draws everyone in to his performance, one of those artists that feels bigger than life watching him live
@@robertbaeza2299 check out some of his other songs, like "big gold mine" is one of my favorites. He's not trying to sound like anyone, he just lives in the wrong time lol
This is country - you can feel the sorrow in his voice and see the pain in his eyes. I feel so privileged to hear his music and, without a doubt, he will be remembered as one of the greats.
Real country from a real singer who writes his songs from what he sees and feels. Not just a pretty face with a team of songwriters, executives, lawyers and producers. I can’t get enough of this man’s music.
I have seen a lot of great live performers in my 45 years from pop to country. Charley Crockett is one of the best. so awesome live if you haven't seen him your missing out.
I personally think this is the best version of July Jackson.. checked my Spotify and it turns out ive got 26 songs by Charley saved in my likes, never misses with these hits.
Charley is the absolute REAL DEAL. So glad to see him getting national recognition. I was fortunate to catch him on tour at a small venue in Newport, KY in early 2020 right before the pandemic shut everything down. I think it was less than a year after his open heart surgery and the show was phenomenal. What was even more impressive was the kindness and appreciation he showed his fans. He met, talked with, took photos with and conversed with every fan that was wanting to meet him. When he says he appreciates his fans I truly believe he is sincere. I was also lucky enough to see him at an outdoor venue outside Cincinnati this past summer and he put on another great show. His success is well deserved .
Been a Charley fan for years now ever since The Valley album...he deserves to be as big as any country music star as far as I’m concerned..glad more people are getting to hear him
@@TouchDirt I don't see how he's talented...my parents had a country swing band for years and I play and sing, myself. It seems some are just easily impressed.
Alright now, Mr Charley! You finally did it, CMT! You can't ignore indie Crockett anymore. Impossible! Charley is legend and a great performer with a few chords, blues, heart, and the truth. Not a bad album in his collection. Stay indie, Charley! ❤❤❤🐊
My oh my, there are all sorts of people hootin and hollerin about what is and isn't Country. We'll folks ol Charley is producing 100% Country Western!! It is such a delight to see and here a needle in a haystack of musicians. God bless Texas!
I got to here John Denver singing at a campfire, in a Canyon in the SW Colorado Rockies. I was up on the canyon top, providing security for a private pack trip. It was a unforgettable evening. I couldn't see the campfire from where i was. But his voice carried up through that canyon like magic.
I have been obsessed with “the son of Davy” for a bit now. I’ve been lucky enough to see him live twice. Mesmerizing isn’t too strong a word! Through Charley, I’ve been exposed to some beautiful country classics.
I was just listening to Black Sedan today while driving around Wichita and the surrounding area - very fitting! Looking forward to seeing you live for the first time in KC in two weeks.
Charlie I sure love your music it touches my heart makes me feel like I've lived the song and that is true for so many of your tunes God bless you Charlie hope to see you live one day in concert
Charley needs to release an acoustic album. Ya can’t beat his voice with an acoustic guitar. His latest album these tunes came from is his best work to date. Love seeing him shape and fine tune his sound and craft! Best live show to catch!
@@matbla109 I've heard it and love the simplicity, but the lo-fidelity sound to it takes away. I'd like to hear a full HQ sound acoustic album from him.
He certainly seems headed into more of a western/Americana sound now. Crazy that he went from a more typically successful genre commercially to something that usually makes less money.... the real deal indeed. He plays what he wants to play.
@@cackley4 I would say in general if you listen to his earlier albums he stuck a lot more to r&b (a lot of horns and soulful sounds) whereas now he seems to make half his records a more traditional western sound. To my ears at least.
"Boy she loved it though it really wasn't much, kinda like the way she loved me" SOOOO good! Nothing but love for this man! Hope to see his name in lights more often.
Saw him perform in fort Smith Arkansas at the peacemaker festival second day. This fine gent came out the gate with "Man from Waco" full spaghetti Western style with horns and strings. Insane. For a moment I thought I was in a Tarantino film 🤣
"She loved it though it really wasn't much, kinda like the way she loved me." Why does this hit so hard? 32 year old man about to cry. I suppose it's because I relate to it. Being weak yet still, my wife chooses to love me.
Finally some true blue country by an independent on CMT, finally our voices are being heard
Dude when they had Cody on and now Charley 🥲 my faith is returning
@@SnowQuaker I can agree to that
Hard act to follow would hate to be next after the best
The rapper they had booked backed out at the last minute and Charley just happened to be in town…
@@mcwilliams4546 ain’t that a shame that a rapper backed out a real country artiest took his place
Best country music made in the last couple decades no doubt.
I agree! I think Cody Jinks is right up there too!
Charley is great.
If you want more modern country Billy strings, Lost Dog Street Band, sierra Farrell, nick shoulders all come to mind immediately.
Charley is a breath of fresh air for country music. Don't forget about Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson as well.
Colter wall also
100%
I'm not a country fan but I can't stop listening to Charley Crockett
Can't wait to see him live next month
Check out Orville peck, nikki lane, ortega, and soon some Nick shoulders if want some country mountain music

He’s so entertaining live! Full of energy and gives a great performance
Well you’re a country fan now haha Real country that is 🤠

Charley Crockett gonna be the 21st century Johnny Cash, and I'm here for it.
Maybe that’s what it is? He’s trying too much to sound like him. This whole thing was kind of cringe.

His performance at the rust belt in the quad city’s was fire! My wife and I are planing on going to his concert in Chicago.
