- Six of the adverts from the 1990's that were a forerunner to Rowan Atkinson's Johnny English character. Here he is Richard Latham (they obviously thought that 'Richard Latham' wouldn't have been a good title for a movie) who is basically Johnny English. These aren't all the adverts that were made, but this is a quality collection.
Barclays need to rerun this adverts. I'm sure they will sell more Barclaycard with these vintage adverts, than they could with recent adverts!
So many plots that went into Johnny English!
0:33 absolutely creased when he just shouted “BOFF” in the quiet wedding church
Ah, doesn't have the one I remember most fondly. "We are both fluent, Bough. Sadly in different languages. How...much...is...the ...rug?"
Ahhh shimmilly tak tak
1:49 Take over for a boff would you moment 😂
I think it is the effect...
One thing they got wrong. Binoculars, especially top quality ones, FLOAT!
that comment certainly sank! heheh
@@jamiew1664 Yeah, win some, lose some.
Interesting, I didn't know that...
The more you know...!
Well a man of my experience knows, that when you've got a pair on binoculars...(FEELS FOR BINOCULARS & LOOKS OVERBOARD)...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGHHH!!!!!
Ahhhh, back in the days when many adverts were funny/entertaining and these ones are no exception (pity the rug one is missing)
These days adverts seem to be more irritating and annoying rather than funny and make me want to throw something very heavy at the telly.
I couldn't agree more!
Why aren’t they made funny anymore? Coming from a swede.
I think the actor at 1:33 is Jonathan Aris. You may have seen him more recently in the BBC's Sherlock where he plays Anderson, a Scenes of Crime Officer.
I also recognised him. He does narration of Air Crash Investigation documentaries. His dad used to be in "Hi-de-Hi". The guy at the front is Derren Litten, who wrote "Benidorm". I think the lady is Constable Habib, fromm "Thin Blue Line".
Why am I continuously watching this video?
It looks like him, but these adverts were around about 1994 - Matt Smith would've been 12!
It's 8 years later but it's actually Henry Naylor.
Is it even possible not to like these...
Thats the church at hambleden near henley on thames - I know, I got married there in 98!
where is the advert when his carpet catches film? and that kid tries to warn him and he goes "look shoo, push off"
I like the music in that one do you no whats it called 👍🏻
That advert can be found elsewhere on TH-cam! 😊
I remember these...."BARCLAYCARDDDDDDD"
2:08 How many times has Rowan Atkinson been through it?
the assistants even called bough
Amazing upload ❤️ legend
3:27 Latham? so that's his little game!
It's his prototype name.
Think that's genuinely Red Square!
Who is the woman from 0:10? She looks very familiar, but I can't place her.
I think at the same time, who is the very attractive woman in the last advert? 🤔
@@lucylocket4740 I think she play Pegasus' in flim Johnny English
Condition 'green'. Shame that one isn't there...
He knows no fear.
He knows no danger.
He knows nothing.
His name is Latham...Richard Latham
Nah! Let's change his name to: Johnny English 😉
5:54 Johnny English's theme!
how pissed off is the actor that played Bough?
1:54
Who played Bough here?
Henry Naylor
6:08 6:11 and the rest have Rowan Atkinson going nuts in his white boxers.
4:00 HAHAHAAHAAHAHA
is that matt smith 1:33?
I thought so, at first, until he spoke. Jonathan Aris. Unmistakable voice.
Seriously you think he looks like Matt Smith? I can't see it myself. It looks more like Jonathan Aris from Sherlock. Matt Smith is much better looking.
BOFF!
lol.
I like Black Adder and Mr Bean better
doesn't look like him at all
Who cares, man?
