I've wanted to race an Elantra N DCT since they first hit the market. Hard to believe they perform so well from the factory with just a 2.0T engine. I have a stock 2012 Infiniti G37 Sedan 7AT that ran 13.77@101.53 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Curious what a stock Elantra N would trap at LVMS.
@@jordynhixson655 I'll be at the Speedway this Friday for Midnight Mayhem with some friends. Not sure if I'm actually going to race or just watch. I'm always up for some friendly competition if you want to do some fun runs down in Mexico.
@@floorit321as someone who has a DCT EN, I’ve raced a few 7AT g37’s and stock for stock I’ve walked away. My best 1/4 mile time was 13.2 at 108-109. I’ve even raced a few later model 370Z’s and won. Roll and drags.
thats quite a big difference with a tune when learned. It's definitely capable of a high 12 sec 1/4 mile especially with that trap speed it just needs better tires and also be on a prepped drag strip, many elantras have done high 12s 1/4 mile on a prepped drag strip and on better tires.
Those are some pretty good runs for the DA conditions, hate yall don’t have 93 octane there. Once he gets new tires and a HPFP , he should be much quicker
In respect to tuning, I just read about Steve Dinan’s (M Guru) M2 Comp x-Drive with over $20K worth of mods running 735 hp and 668 lb-ft torque. Car and Driver magazine tested the car and I compared it with Car and Driver test of the M3 Comp X-Drive totally stock…. Dinan M2 vs M3 stock 0-60: 2.6 vs 2.8 0-100: 6.1 vs 7.0 0-150: 15.7 vs 18.2 Qtr Mile: 10.6 @ 130 vs 11.0 @ 124 Weight: 3881 lbs vs 3929 lbs So is Dinan’s car 232 more hp and 189 more lb-ft torque really worth the expensive price of the tune or just go with a simple JB4 add-on? JB4 is a bargain. No, it won’t make 735 hp but it will make enough power to smoke the tires.
Definitely not a real 232hp difference with those numbers.. That's like a 60-70hp difference based on the trap speeds.. but yeah, from what i've seen, JB4 seems to be a good budget option.
I'm on the fence about getting the JB4 for my EN. So with this the stupid "octane learning" is no longer necessary? Ya kept saying "learned" in the video so I'm not following completely. Does the JB4 basically perform as "learned" stock then you can learn it again on the JB4?
@@JVette01 Ahhh ok gotcha. Honestly I'd be happy if the car just ran as it does stock learned but all the time. I rarely drive on the highway so I usually dont get to drive much when its learned.
With the JB4, you will always be pushing the learned power around 20-21 psi. If you do learn it then that's when it'll go to 23-24 psi. But even when pushing the 20-21 psi, it feels waaaay better than when learned on the stock tune
More boost is just more heat. Downpipe , cat delete, water/meth injection. Removes the heat and adds timing, and that makes more power with less boost.
The car is so inconsistent thow and for no apparent reason at least if it was due to human error or heat then you can say why it's slow or not. But it's like a random star alignment is required for it to achieve the reportable number.
Not a good idea for the EN DCT I know plenty of guys that ran JB4's on the DCT cars and their clutches are ruined from running them before getting an actual tune.
@@jordynhixson655still voids warranty we have had people bring them in for warranty work that had the JB4 previously installed and you can see that the boost had peaked higher than stock
Nice video…lots of wheelspin. JB4 makes power. Thanks for all the data.

The speedway sometimes yields worst times than the street so I’d guess mid 100s. Like 104-106
We can meet and do a few runs in Mexico if you're local?😉

It was good gains for just a JB4! I'm thinking about going this route with my M240i xdrive and doing the Xhp trans tune as well!
Learned would be good race with a stage 1 gti my manual mk8 stg 1 91 108mph 13.6 1/4

Yeah, the digs are tough with worn tires. When we test again, he will most likely have new tires at that point.
I’m running JB4 and with custom map settings I got in the 12’s with no bolt ons 60-130 nice video
congrats

What he was saying was jb4 un learned will be similar to how it was stock when it was learned. It still has the octane learning even with JB4.

Yes. About 2500ft. 91 ACN octane. 3400ft DA

Looks like it is jb4 in stock spark plugs and not gabed 😂😂
He has new colder plugs.
These cars are so cheap to tune It's crazy
A JB4 is not a tune it's just a sensor fooler to trick the car into adding a few more pounds of boost. Get a REAL TUNE❗️
Can you explain what a tune does?
It's for warranty purposes. Not interested in voiding the warranty or getting a spare ECU
Wrong. A JB4 is a piggyback ECU, not a "sensor fooler." It's especially helpful if you have a car with a locked ECU.
