I was living in a shared acc. some years ago and one night we've had the front door completely smashed by burglars armed with knives and aggressive dog (like usual in Birmingham), the police was phoned and they instead asked if there's any corona situation completely ignoring the whole incident, so when the attackers returned the same night police was phoned again and told that there was a stabbing taking place and 2 people are dead, they came in less than 5 minutes and arrested the burglars. Fortunately there was no stabbing and the person who phoned the police saying about it was fined but at least they saved the house!

With the badges it is fairly simple. Soldiers who take taxpayer's money and swore an oath to the crown, many of their fellow soldiers have died in the line of duty, they don't get to wear a special flag on their uniform everyday, they wear the flag of the state they swore an oath to. I have 3 points. Firstly, UK police swear an oath of allegiance to the crown, not the people. There is a big difference. Secondly, John Charles Menendez was shot 8 times by UK police and died. He was unarmed and had no criminal record. Following a 'report of a firearm', Harry Stanley, who had no criminal record was shot dead by police for carrying a table leg. Stephen Waldorf , whilst driving his car, was shot five times by police in a case of mistaken identity. He was unarmed and had no criminal record. He survived by a miracle The officer who tried to shoot him in the head at point blank range while shouting 'Die, c***s*****', had run out of bullets. It appears that thinking someone might be armed is sufficient grounds to shoot them dead. Thirdly, The Met. police have a facility in Kent which is used to train officers (and horses), from around the country, in quelling riots, civil disturbance, demonstrations, strikes, etc. It provides firearms training. It accommodates 700 trainees at a time. They are not training to arrest shoplifters. Beware your friendly UK Bobby.

I was living in a shared acc. some years ago and one night we've had the front door completely smashed by burglars armed with knives and aggressive dog (like usual in Birmingham), the police was phoned and they instead asked if there's any corona situation completely ignoring the whole incident, so when the attackers returned the same night police was phoned again and told that there was a stabbing taking place and 2 people are dead, they came in less than 5 minutes and arrested the burglars. Fortunately there was no stabbing and the person who phoned the police saying about it was fined but at least they saved the house!

With the badges it is fairly simple. Soldiers who take taxpayer's money and swore an oath to the crown, many of their fellow soldiers have died in the line of duty, they don't get to wear a special flag on their uniform everyday, they wear the flag of the state they swore an oath to. And i think we can agree that many more soldiers have died in the line of duty than police officers.

The psychology of the wearing of a uniform, and how it can effect the behaviour of human to human interaction, is fascinating. Also ; it seems, the assumption of " power and control " consumes those who are less educated upon the actual role their uniform represents. I have 3 points. Firstly, UK police swear an oath of allegiance to the crown, not the people. There is a big difference.
Secondly, John Charles Menendez was shot 8 times by UK police and died. He was unarmed and had no criminal record. Following a 'report of a firearm', Harry Stanley, who had no criminal record was shot dead by police for carrying a table leg. Stephen Waldorf , whilst driving his car, was shot five times by police in a case of mistaken identity. He was unarmed and had no criminal record. He survived by a miracle The officer who tried to shoot him in the head at point blank range while shouting 'Die, c***s*****', had run out of bullets. It appears that thinking someone might be armed is sufficient grounds to shoot them dead.
Thirdly, The Met. police have a facility in Kent which is used to train officers (and horses), from around the country, in quelling riots, civil disturbance, demonstrations, strikes, etc. It provides firearms training. It accommodates 700 trainees at a time. They are not training to arrest shoplifters.
