    I went for the X-E3 lovely little camera and results did not disappoint me at all. I usually use a full frame Nikon and bought this as
    a back up camera, but in many respect I prefer to use this. Kit lens is super sharp and colour rendition straight out of the came is
    excellent, I like the way you can assign a film profile and I love the Velvia look.

    I've been using the X-E1 for quite some time. After watching many X-Pro3 videos, decided the cost was likely not worth it for me. Began to shop the X-Pro2… but I like the EVF. So here I am, considering the X-E3 against the X-Pro2. Thanks for the video.

      Hahaha, it’s a cool camera. But if you can wait, you might be in for a surprise ....soon😁

    Definitely considered both, but went the X-E3 route as I got a good deal that included the kit 18-55mm. My intention was to get the small 27mm, but ended up getting larger manual lenses. I also realize now that a larger body with grip would be a bit better - and so I think I will need to eventually get a grip for the X-E3. Which grip are you using btw?
    I just wanted to dip my toes into the Fuji waters a bit. I'm able to do some client natural light portraits and the overall system is compact enough to throw in a small backpack and take anywhere.
    Also, when I bought the X-E3, I knew it was a bit older, but I carefully researched specs and performance, and realized that there haven't been dramatic changes for APS-C sensors from 2016-present. So I think this will last me several years at least.

      It's a powerful little toy that can hold you a lifetime with a bit of TLC. :)

    Thank you! 🙏Happily owning a X-E2 and with the new Fuji releases, your video has come just at the right time, with helping decide what to ‘upgrade’ to🙂

      Did you happen to upgrade to an X-E3 or X-Pro2? I'm on the same boat now. Want to upgrade from an X-E2.

    Nice video even after 3 years, it'll help people! I have now an X-E2 + 35f2 (extra lens) and have a chance to trade it with an X-Pro2, but the seller is asking for an additional $430. Then I found one seller of an X-E3 and is willing to trade straight. Today, what would you choose between the two options?

    Hi Chris ! I'm unearthing this a bit! I'm mostly shooting film and want to start going digital soon as I'd to do a bit of professional work soon, mainly street/fashion lookbooks. I highly prefer small rangefinder like cameras and was interested in the xpro/xe lines. Xpro 1 is said to be too slow and maybe the resolution is not high enough for print, so I'm considering xpro2/xe3 now, do you think xe3 could do it ? Even though people might think a small camera can't do the work.... thanks for your feedback!

      Absolutely. I used the XE3 for many projects. Probably not sports of fast action tho it’s not lacking much behind, but depending on your projects I think you should give it a try. If video is not a requirement, XPro2 and XT3 are still workhorses for many.

    great video thank you.
    totally looking at older fuji bodies to have the budget to invest in their amazing lens
    do wonder about manual focusing and if the PRO2 is better or both will still have to use the electric screen view to see the focus peaking so it wouldnt make much of a difference?

    Thank you for the great comparison between the X-E3 & X-Pro2. I am considering both of these cameras as my gateway into the world of the mirrorless Fujifilm system. Can you please tell me which of these two Fuji bodies would you recommend for vintage manual lenses & why? Thank you.

    • @CrisConstantin
      @CrisConstantin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      First thank you for watching and appreciate the nice words👍. Now, these two are like brothers they fight each other for supremacy😂. But, here is down to what you need. If you are planning on shooting all kind of projects, from pro to document life, the xpro 2 is what I advice you towards. More control (buttons and dials), more grippy, more life (around 300k actuations). If you just want to wander the streets and document everything, while you mind the weight you are carrying the XE3 should be your pick. IQ wise they are both amazing, battery life pretty much the same. The EVf on the XPro2 is a bit better and the OVF is more suitable for adapting old vintage lenses, that gives you that Rangefinder experience in full effect. Hope that helped and I hope to see you around. Happy shooting👍

    Which shutter button is that on your XPRO 2? I've been looking for something that doesn't stick out as much and that one looks really good.

    • @CrisConstantin
      @CrisConstantin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s a cheap one I believe JJc? But if you want one that doesn’t sticks out much try convex ones (bulbous) which is the opposite.

    Hey dear chris , i love the comparison. video for these two fuji buddies , i just brought XE3 for my fun use and out door travel shoot . as have already GFX 50S since two years . because of 4k video and light weight i choose XE3 for me, last week i went for some bush trails in country side for vacation as i was carrying only one lens 18-135 mm i shot everything on this little buddy including landscape , nature , portraits and all with minimalistic approach but, trust me after seeing images on my imac i got really surprised ... its wonderful package in small size ... thanks ... ALL THE VERY BEST ...

    • @CrisConstantin
      @CrisConstantin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same to you sir. The XE3 is still a great small and portable options for travel, street and even portraits. I love to see people are still impressed, it is actually a great sensor (Bigger brother xh1 and XT2 still rely on)

    Great presentation and definitely worthwhile cameras, even years later. The difference between casual pro and casual clueless photographer is a litlte overblown though. None of us is really in National Geographics of Magnum league and everybody having a camera that is not a phone has an idea about how it works and the curiosity to learn.

    Discovered the x-e3 after researching the xpro2/3 + x100v. Really interesting, compact little body. It’s December 2020 now, let’s see if Fuji has been working on an x-e4. Thank you for this!

    • @CrisConstantin

      They definitely do. I am sure we’ll hear something as soon as first quarter of 2021. But XE3 is as great toy for sure. Super capable and robust, well suited for street photography and travel. 👍

    • @CrisConstantin
      @CrisConstantin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both are great cameras. It depends how n what you are shooting and if you need a smaller form factor or not. 👍

      @@CrisConstantin I much prefer small and adore my XE2. I just don't like the XE3. So the X Pro is the logical move. But I will use mainly with 27mm to keep weight similar to XE3 with 23mm f2.
      I have a feeling I may fall in love with it like the XE2, which was more of a mini X Pro 1 than the XE3 or XE4 which is more like an X100 now and cheaply made.
      The X100V would be good but less grip and my local store didn't think a broken one was broken, so I couldn't risk it as many need to be sent back, like with the X Pro 3.

    Basically the XE3 is the little brother of the XPRO2. Smaller. Lighter. Cheaper. Same output.

    Thanks for this Chris. I own lots of Fuji cameras including an X-Pro2 that I pre-ordered when it was first announced. It is still my go-to camera and I prefer it over my X-T2 and X-T3. I liked your video and might even consider buying a used X-E3 now because it looks like a real fun little camera. And as you say, it would slip easily into a pocket and be good for discrete street shooting. Now let's have more comparison videos and videos of older kit too. Stray safe.

      The Xe-3 has the same sensor as the Xpro2. It was released with Xpro2 actually and they keep it intact for 2y? I believe. 👍

    • @CrisConstantin
      @CrisConstantin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are many rumors around the X community. Some say the Fujifilm intend to kill the XE line, others are expecting an announcement by the end of the year. I’ll say is highly unlikely for Fuji to discontinue the line and it all depends of the future development of the XT-xx line. For me XE is better in terms of design and it can be easily combined and inherit the “pro” features of the XT-xx. We have to wait and see. Hopefully, YES!
