    Either Samsung improves their laptop design to compete with others(higher resolution, cooling), or the other companies improve their pen tech(switch to EMR, or improve existing tech). The only reason I like this laptop is the EMR tech doesn't have diagonal line jitter. There are so many good options to choose from, but pen performance from Samsung is hard to beat. At least Microsoft is making the attempt. Thank you for the review, I like that you show the internals of the laptops.

    • @AaronMartinColby
      @AaronMartinColby 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nailed it. The pen is the only reason I am agonizing over this purchase. If not for the pen, this would be an easily rejected option. But trying to draw slow, delicate lines on Lenovo's laptops was a nightmare of frustration. Maybe the newer Yoga's are better, but the options from last year were terrible. It's either this or Microsoft for me.

      @Aaron Martin-Colby I am opting for an note taking device .. I went from s8+ too ultra (for better deal including the keyboard case) s8+ gets the slim cover I don't like that. I want to use it for in bed ..what would you recommend.. ultra or windows laptop ..main thing will be note taking

    I have the 13.3 inch version, had it now for several months. Never really had any heating issues, also my geekbench scores were much better than yours(1,571 single-core; 6,663 multi-core).

    Burn-In: For those who wonder if Oled laptops get burn-in issues, I can share my experience with you. I have owned 4 different oled laptops for work including 3 XPS 15 and a Gigabyte aero 15, and 2 of them are 4 years old already. I have seen zero burn-in on the screens. As we know it is the brightness/energy output/heat to cause burn-in. Since OLED tvs are so much brighter than laptop screens as manufactures have to set the display to so bright to fight glare. On the other hand, most laptops have a oled display can only reach 250-350 nits, so each pixel can never reach its full capacity like those pixels on the tvs even if you have the screen on full brightness all the time. Therefore, the pixels on a tv need to work 80% to 100% of their max capacity most of the time while the pixels on a oled laptop only work 30-40% when the display is set to 100% brightness most of the time. I am not saying you will never seen burn-in on a laptop screen, but most likely will take many years. I am no expert, but this is what I think. Hope that helps

    I like the color and the display. Definitely think the 15-inch version is best because of capability and extra DRAM and larger/better performance SSD is the way to go. It would be an option for me but I have settled on having the 16:10 format. Thanks for the great review.

    As I said in the "First Looks" review this is just an okay PC. This review confirms that opinion. Camera and microphones are good. Display is good. At least they counted then number of USB-C ports correctly. You have two available ports when plugged in. Agree a USB-A port would be nice. Agree that the 15 in. model would be the way to go if you are considering purchasing the Samsung unit. Be aware that on the 15 in model the numpad is not designed well. There is no large "Enter" key to the right of the numbers like that of a typical calculator. The numpad on the 15 in model is not practical for fast numeric input. Speakers might sound good but listening to them on your video does not do them justice. Same for the other Lenovo laptop you compared it to. Overall this is still a little pricey for what you get. Still and excellent review.

    Nice review! Wifey loving her 15" version. I thought she should keep the 9i instead but seeing her with her new burgundy is fulfilling. She loves the cam and is really impressed with the streaming and sound. 16:9 is perfect for movies and that screen really pulls it off well. Samsung gave her a generous first responder discount, a $100 loyalty discount and $250 for an old S8...I got a 32" mediocre gaming monitor for free.....what's not to like?

    I love the glorious camera display at 1080p as well as the built-in 🎤 quality. I also like the background customization you get with the webcam. If I was buying this laptop, it would be the 15" with the maximum RAM and storage capacity I can get. I'm a fan of Super AMOLED after using their phones for years. Brilliant review Andrew!! 👍😁

    great review. due to the lower performance, it seems the book2 360 13 inch is redundant to just using the Tab S8 plus as a main computing device. you can almost do everything and more!

  • @Zodliness
    @Zodliness ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I recently obtained a Book 2 pro 5G 15" variant, it doesn't have the folding screen and lacks the internal capacity to do anything that requires installing/running high capacity software. The second downside to my variant, is the permanently soldered RAM and small non-replaceable 256gb SSD, half taken up with windows 11 OS bloatware out of the box. The upside is Samsung kept the headphone socket and included a micro SSD port, with a single mini HDMI socket and two USB c-types. Battery life is amazing with the screen brightness turned down and using the recommended energy saving settings. Would I upgrade to the 360 or better? No, I'm happy with mine, because I paid £500 new on a deal and I'm not a performance hungry gamer.

    Nice review thanke you, i can aggree your thoughts. One constructive appeal to make your good reviews more better. Maybe you will stop for example 5 secounds to speak while the fan-noise-test, so people can judge the noise also subjective. The decibell are just of the whole audible frequency spectrum and today the small notebooks with the fans lead to produce more noise in higher frequency spectrum.
    It's a pitty, that the 13 inch model just gets a little bit higher in multicore than typical the older Tiger Lakes. Maybe students etc. should choose the 15 inch if the do a little bit more like image editing etc. and if there is no more powerfull PC at home. It's great that Samsung has fixed some criticized things, thanks to reviewers like you! Thx!
    What do you think with the Asus Rog Flow X13 compared to the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360? There is a X13-model without an GPU, just with the Ryzen 6800HS and the price is similar. It has a little bit a gamerdesign, but for some people it's acceptable. It seems to me that the Asus made a really nice all-day and all-purpose convertible with 13 inch. The ryzen is much more efficient in idle and with low load. The multicore-performance is better, the 680M is more powerfull. It's not an amoled, but 100% RGB, 500 nits, 120 Hz and 16:10. Also it has HDMI and USB-A included. There is no Thunderbold 4, but Asus annoucend that one USB-C port will get later upgraded to USB 4.0, so it then Thunderbolt 3 with 40 Gbits.

    i think the Book2 360 non pro 13 inch is a better choice. 0.25 lbs heavier, more ports, better cooling and efficient U chip 12th gen and probably better geekbench 5 due to better cooling.

      @samgonzales8358 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello since you are all talking about Samsung galaxy book2 pro 360, wonder if you have problem like when it ask for system update and you go for it, in the process few minutes downloading it stop and the problem won't take the old pin number anymore. I tried changing the pin like " I forgot the pin number" tried several time, forgot password several time. I know it is now associated with Microsoft. Just want to hear from you before I'll have to send it to the store to have it fix. Thank you.

    the battery life sucks i havent even downloaded anything to my new laptop and its quick to die its only been an hour or a little more than an hour it was like at 85 and its at a 54% -_- the audio speakers SO LOW AND FAINT i have to use a cheap bluetooth speaker just to hear my lessons online classes in video otherwise the sound of a fan from walmart is louder than the videos im playing even movies -_-
    i mean i like the laptop cuz it folds and switches in tablet mode so if im reading online textbook for class makes it great for not strainging my eyes and just scrolling and reading online textbook ....and the laptop gets realy warm or hot i just bought this from bestbuy D:

    the performance is too horrible. and the battery is not that great considering its big size. just get a used ryzen4000u ultraportable. so much better performance at less than half the price. and it will be upgradable too just to add insult to injury

      Horrible is subjective. In retrospect we have overpowered devices for most computers. Considering people just use laptops for web browsing, office work and media consumption. It's very fine for 90% of people. It's definitely overpriced, your paying more for build quality than performance.

    Samsung keep doing this. They release great product after great product, and just when you think they're building up the ecosystem, they release a crap one like the galaxy laptops the past two years. What so pro about the galaxy book 2 pro? Too thin that it looses cooling and performance. Poor battery life. Crap speakers. 16 by 9 aspect ratio??? Come on samsung WTH.
